“We have a five-month-old puppy who’s full of energy, and we reached out to Chen last minute hoping she might be able to help. She kindly accommodated us, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Throughout Peanut’s stay, she showed the utmost attention to detail and gave him so much care and love. She also sent frequent photo and video updates, which truly put our minds at ease knowing he was in great hands. Peanut had a wonderful day with her, and we can’t thank her enough for the peace of mind and the exceptional care she provided! 💛🐾”

About: I love dogs and understand that yours is part of your family. I have owned dogs for over 18 years (male german shepherd mix and female pitbull) and I know what makes them tick! I have experience walking fussy/reactive, even aggressive dogs, both big and small. I just can’t live without them. With reasonable notice, I am available pretty much all day long for dog walks and sits. I can always easily adjust my schedule and am very flexible when it comes to last minute arrangements. No issues moving dates around if my calendar is open. I have a fenced in yard and the house is plenty spacious. My goal is always to provide a safe and comfortable experience for your pet. About: I have always had dogs in my life, but it wasn’t until adulthood—when I welcomed two baby pitbulls into my home—that I truly learned what it means to care for them properly. These two loves of my life taught me so much. One developed diabetes, and I learned to administer injections twice a day. The other had a tumor on his prostate, which led to many pamper days. Through these experiences, I discovered how to ensure dogs remain happy and fulfilled, even through challenges and health issues. I share this to say that my love for dogs is immense, and I am dedicated to helping others care for their furry companions in every way possible. I currently work from home full time. I’m available for any services during the day, whether it is for walks, for drop ins or daycare. Care for a pet at a client’s home depends on what they are used to. I follow routines given by clients and make sure the pet is attended to and happy.
“Haziza was wonderful! I had to take a last minute trip into the city and traveling with my pet (Scout) was tough. I made the request last minute and Haziza responded immediately! I was nervous as I have never used a Rover in the city, but Haziza has us meet and immediately I felt at ease! She went above and beyond for sending me photos and videos of Scout at the park and even enjoying her family time in the comfort of Hazizas home! I will 100% book with her again any time I am in the city! Cannot give her a high enough review!”

“Lee is an awesome sitter who we have used a couple times now. Our dog is super nervous and the first time our dog spent most of the day visibly nervous. But Lee was not deterred and very patient, gave our dog space and tried multiple approaches to get in her good graces. The second visit our dog warmed up to Lee and was taking pets and giving her kisses by the end of the day. Lee is incredibly communicative and gifted with dogs, we are very grateful for her patience and sticking with it. We look forward to using her (and her family) again.”

About: I’ve taken care of my family dog since I was 10. I’ve also watched family friends and relatives animals for them when they are away on vacation! I’m currently working hybrid so I can be home most days if needed when boarding an animal! I will enjoy being able to get out of my apartment every few hours to take the dog for long walks! I live in an apartment with a roommate and we always keep the door locked when we are in and out of the home. My roommate has a standard poodle who is super mellow and great with other dogs!
“Laura has been amazing! Her communication was great and she took great care of our pup Nenya. We could tell that Nenya loves her when we picked her up. She had a super calm and nice approach with her which is great because she is a little bit more on the shy and anxious side. Will definitely book Laura again :)”

Susan and her husband are AMAZING! I was extremely stressed trying to find someone to watch Mochi at the last minute but Susan responded quickly, was incredibly flexible, and worked with me every step of the way. Throughout Mochi's stay, she sends regular updates and photos, which I absolutely loved. Mochi absolutely adores them. I highly highly recommend!

Young was great with our nervous rescue puppy. He was patient and by the end of our booking, Reggie seemed to feel very comfortable with him. Young sent many updates about how he was doing and adjusting, which we appreciated. Will definitely book again in the future!

Leah is a wonderful pet sitter. Luke enjoyed his time with her; communication was excellent and familiar. Her place has a backyard with a fence, and the area where she lives is safe and beautiful for dogs. She was responsible and cared for my furry baby. Highly recommended!

Devon did an amazing job with my pup, who is new to city life. She was responsive in setting up the dog sitting and she kept me informed as to how my dog was doing, sending a delightful picture or two along with updates through the day. She also kindly worked with my schedule, making it much easier to do my day, especially once it seemed like my pup had a wonderful time with her. Thanks, Devon! Looking forward to Oona staying with you again.

Jagruti is the best! She is professional and friendly, and most importantly she is a genuine dog lover! She took great care of Nacho and sent pictures throughout the day. It is very clear that they had a good time because Nacho ran towards Jagruti the next time they met and didn't even look back! We are so lucky to have found her.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your North Bergen commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
