Hi! I’m Sophia, a 24 year old graduate student studying Opera Performance in New York City. I’m originally from Miami, FL, and caring for animals has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember 🐾 Both of my parents are veterinarians, so I grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, and animals of all kinds. As a kid, I often went to work with my parents, which gave me a lot of hands-on experience caring for pets. I’m comfortable around animals with all sorts of personalities and needs. I have a special soft spot for senior pets since I’ve had the privilege of watching my own childhood pets grow old 🌈 🤍 Back home in FL, I have a 14 year old Mini Pinscher named Snoop and a 19 year old fluffy tortoise shell cat named Miley Cyrus, who I visit every chance I get. I also have a 13 year old tuxedo cat named Ziggy, who lives with me here in the city. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or just wants a calm companion while you’re away, I’ll care for them as if they were my own!

Sophia is such a caring sitter. I can always trust her to take good care of my kitty and she always leaves such detailed rover cards. I really appreciate all her attention to detail, it makes me feel comfortable knowing my cat is in good hands!!
Sophia and Matias were incredibly sweet, mindful, attentive and dedicated. Over the course of three days, it became clear that they put maximum effort into keeping our pup happy, hydrated and entertained. Their communication skills were A+++, keeping us updated with photos, videos and texts throughout the day. They took our pup for frequent walks, fed her at the requested time and even did an amazing photoshoot with her. This was our first time using Rover for extended day-sitting and we couldn’t be happier that we found someone like Sophia and Matias on the first try. Kiki said she enjoyed the service, and while she would prefer not to be left behind by mom and dad, if it has to happen again, it better be with Sophia and Matias 🫶🐾
Sophia is truly amazing - can’t emphasize this enough! She took the most wonderful care of my cat while I was away on a long trip, and kept me posted the entire time with extremely thorough updates and photos; reading her Rover cards was the highlight of my day. I could tell my cat fell in love with Sophia immediately, which really speaks to the love and care Sophia was giving her. Sophia went above and beyond to make sure my cat was doing well while I was gone, was incredibly communicative, and is just a really wonderful person - I absolutely recommend her to anyone in need of pet care.
Sophia was wonderful! Dolly seemed very comfortable with her and I got several updates and photos throughout the day!
Sophia was so great with our boys. We never have to worry when we are away because we know they will be well taken care of. We will definitely be booking again!
Sophia is the best!! She is sooo caring and attentive and i always feel comfortable leaving my cat with her. I love reading the rover cards after her check-ins, she is so detail-oriented and makes sure that my cat is getting all the love she needs :) would definitely recommend!!!!!!!

Harmonogram
I live with my partner, Matias, who is also a huge animal lover 🐾 He works from home full-time and helps me care for all of our furry guests while I’m at grad school. Your pet will never be left alone! On weekdays, I’m typically in class or rehearsals for a few hours, but my schedule varies and I always head straight home afterward. I’m a homebody, so I genuinely love spending time at home with the pets in my care. We’re both native Spanish speakers. I’m Argentinian and Matias is Chilean/Mexican, so we’re happy to communicate in either English or Spanish! I offer daycare and overnight boarding and am available for walks and drop-in visits in my neighborhood during evenings and weekends. We live in a pet-friendly building in Hell’s Kitchen with parks nearby, and Central Park is only about a 15-minute walk away for pups who enjoy longer walks and adventures! We share our home with Ziggy, our sweet 13 year old tuxedo cat. He’s very laid back and gets along well with both dogs and other cats, and especially loves kittens! Whenever a new pet stays with us, I introduce them to Ziggy slowly and carefully. I give everyone time to become familiar with each other’s scent before meeting face to face, which helps make the transition much less stressful. I closely supervise every introduction and am always prepared to keep them separate if anyone seems uncomfortable or needs more time. Having grown up around many animals, I’m very comfortable reading both dog and cat body language. This helps me recognize signs of stress early, remain calm, and make sure every introduction is handled safely. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. If your dog or cat is comfortable around cats, I think we’d be a great match!

Every pet is different, so I always take time to get to know their personality and what makes them feel comfortable. Whether they want to play, go for walks, snuggle, or just have their own space, I’ll follow their lead. My goal is always to make them feel safe and loved, and if they’re the cuddly type, they’re more than welcome on my couch or in my bed!

My home is stocked with plenty of pet comforts, including a basket full of toys for both dogs and cats, bowls, cozy beds, blankets, scratching posts, a pet stroller and pet steps to help smaller or senior pets climb onto the bed safely. You’re always welcome, and encouraged, to bring your pet’s favorite toys, blankets, bed, or anything from home that helps them feel secure. Items that smell like you can be especially comforting for pets with separation anxiety, and I want them to feel as relaxed and at home as possible.

- I believe every animal deserves patience, understanding, and individualized care. Tell me all about your pet’s personality, daily routine, quirks, favorite toys, medications, allergies, fears, or anything else that helps them feel safe and comfortable. The more I know, the better I can care for your pet. I’m very accommodating, flexible, and respectful of your pet’s routine because I know how important consistency is. My goal is to make them feel confident, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Also let me know if they know any tricks so we can practice! I always do my best to make it feel like they’re at their own little sleepaway camp! I also love taking lots of photos and videos, so you’ll never have to wonder how your pet is doing. I’ll keep you updated throughout the day with plenty of pictures, videos, and little updates. Whenever I leave my own cat, Ziggy, I know exactly what it feels like to miss them and wonder what they’re up to, so I always try to give pet parents the kind of updates I’d want to receive myself. I always write detailed notes on every Rover Card!
