“Randi was great - was a pretty last minute booking for me and 1st time using her - she offered to come for a meet and greet - Chassis loved her! She kept me well informed of arrival and walk details and always communicated throughout the process - would definitely recommend!”

“Mari is so sweet! Our puppy loved her and was tired and happy when we got home from being out for the night. She took a lot of care to make Benny feel comfortable with her before she took him out and it really put my mind at ease.”

“Mariah is very sweet with our Aussie, Odin. He tends to be a bit reactive and doesn’t warm up to others as much. However with Mariah, our dog seemed to warm up very well and really has taken to her. You can tell that she knows what she’s doing, as a matter of fact Odin, runs out to her each time she comes to take him for their weekly walk. We’re very happy & thankful for Mariah.”

About: Hi! I’m Jessica, and I’ve spent the last 18 years working hands-on in the pet industry. My career began in the PetSmart Pet Hotel, and since then I’ve managed multiple boarding facilities, worked as an animal control officer, mentored as a dog trainer, and now specialize in pet nutrition. Because of my background, I’m very comfortable with all personalities—especially pups who struggle in busy kennel environments. Over the years, I’ve opened my home to dogs with anxiety, behavioral quirks, medical needs, or those who just need a calmer, more personalized environment. I’ve cared for everything from dogs and cats to small animals and exotics, and I treat every pet like one of my own. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine will always be my top priorities. If you're looking for a sitter who is experienced, patient, and genuinely passionate about animals, I’m here to help! I currently have the option to work from or bring your furry baby to my pet friendly safe office space. I am a pet nutritionist! I care for pets by treating them as they are one of my own! I will work with you to understand what your individual pet needs to feel safe and comfortable while they stay with me.
“Candiance was excellent with my reactive dog. It’s clear that she has experience with reactivity and was patient with my dog’s anxiety. She gave lots of details in the summary of each walk and I felt very comfortable entrusting my dog to her!”

“This was my first time using a dog walker and I’m so happy I chose Lauryn. She was the perfect choice. Lauryn was super professional and communicative. My Niko was obsessed with her. If I could give her 100 stars I would. Definitely using her again.”

About: Hello my name is Jose but I rather be called JC. I’ve been a dog walker for 5 years now. I have two dogs so I know how to deal with more than one dog while walking around. I usually walk around my dogs around riverside or central park cause it open and has a lot of fresh air. I’m not used to house sitting but I'm willing to but a week in advance. I'm also not used to taking care of cats but if needed I will take care of only hypoallergenic cats. (just in case I'm allergic) I love animals of all shape and sizes and I'm looking forward to anyone that is looking for my services. 3 word to best describe me will be responsible, reliable, and punctual.
“When I like someone, and their energy is right and my son’s puppy takes to them, I know I can trust them. I needed to run some errands and Veronica and Alex met me with the pup and took great care of him. Actually, they said slow down, no rush take your time and be safe. I instantly felt less anxiety. As a new furmom life can be well ruff ;-) these two put me at ease when taking care of the pup!”

“Philsung has been amazing! I really appreciated how I got a full report after each walk letting me know what happened. 10/10 would highly recommend. I will definitely be using Philsung again when my regular walker is away.”

“This was our first time with Jacqueline & she was great with my Pomsky! Very communicative, sending pix and comments during their walks! I needed her in the early mornings which is not the usual time or days I need and she was very responsible and helpful! Thank you Jacqueline!”

About: I’ve taken care of all types of dogs for most of my life. I raised, trained, and took care of 2 very different dogs of my own starting 7 years ago. One of them is a rescue with his own specific needs and quirks so I am experienced with reactive and nervous dogs. I also have cared for many other people’s dogs. I’ve walked and care of senior dogs and helped with their unique care needs. I am attentive, responsible, and genuinely enjoy building bonds with the animals I care for. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and happy while you are away. I am currently a part time retail worker, so I have plenty of time and a flexible schedule for carrying for your animals. I am available for walks and in home visits everyday of the week, and I am flexible and easy to reach to set up the exact plan for your animals. I am very aware that each and every pet are very different. That’s why I am attentive and detail oriented in order to properly care for your pet in the way that it needs.
“Denise is amazing! She responded super quickly to my last minute walk request, accommodated a meet & greet the same day, and is very understanding and flexible. We are grateful to have found her :)”

“I’m very happy with Javier’s care of Amur while I was away, he was patient with her and was extremely reliable. I would definitely recommend him and would book him again.”

About: Hello there… Thank you for checking my profile. I have plenty of experience with Rover. I took a break and deactivated my account to enjoy life, but I am back! I grew up with dogs and owned (survived) a Siberian Husky for 15 years. They are my favorites, so if you have a rebellious Husky, I got you… I am an expert when it comes to animals and can assure that I am able to communicate with them and anticipate their needs, so your dog will, GUARANTEED, love me! I can do FaceTime for initial meet ups and to answer any question. We can negotiate regarding hours. Please feel free to inquire. If you are going away due to the holidays, I can stay with your pet until you are back. I do not only provide great care, but also can read your dog body language and provide exactly what they need and when they need it. I am organized and LOVE a clean space, so if you like your place immaculate clean, we will get along great.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - North Bergen
Elise is the best! Very responsive - was able to coordinate a last minute Labor Day weekend midday walk for two of my friends’ dogs I’m sitting over the weekend. She sent tons of photos and provided detailed and entertaining updates of the walk. Highly recommend!

Jenny was amazing! We have a fearful dog and we wanted to make sure our dog was comfortable with the dog walker before we went on vacation. Even though it was a last minute request, Jenny came to meet our dog and they got along great. While we were away she took great care of our dogs and always sent pictures of all the fun they were having. I highly recommend Jenny!

Randy goes above and beyond in walks (and I’m sure for everything else). He sends the cutest pictures and leaves detailed walk descriptions. He also noticed walnut doesn’t drink water when he gets him from a walk so he started bringing water with him in a container to make sure walnut is hydrated. Thanks so much!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
