“Mariah stepped in on very short notice after my foot surgery and walked Samson. She was prompt, caring, and did a great job. I’m so grateful and would definitely book her again.”

“Mari was great with my little anxious pup. They went on a 1.5 mile walk that Bella enjoyed thoroughly and I got to see the pics along their walk. Will definitely use Mari again.”

About: Hi! I’m Janise. Traveling can bring out the best and the worst in anyone and I’m here to make that trip, whether it’s a quick getaway or a long haul, as easy as possible. Let me lend a hand! 🤚🏾 Between me, my husband, our kids, and our dog Frankie, your pet is walking into a full house of love. We have a large backyard where the dogs can run and play while working together as a family to make sure your fur baby gets the attention and love they deserve. Pet care fits in really well with our routine. I work, but I’m in and out of the house throughout the day, and so is my husband and teenage son, so there’s almost always someone around to walk, play with, and check on your pet. Weekends and holidays we’re all home, so your pet will get even more attention those days For boarding, your dog stays right in our home with the family they’ll have a dog to keep them company, a big backyard to run around in, and plenty of attention from all of us. They’re treated like part of the family, not just a guest. For walks, I keep things consistent with whatever routine your dog is used to same schedule, same pace, whatever works best for them. For pick up and drop off, I make sure the handoff is easy and stress free. I’ll communicate with you the whole time so you always know your pet is in good hands
About: Hi, I'm Melanie! I'm a pre-veterinary student at Montclair State University, and I can't remember a time when animals weren't a part of my life. For the past six years my best friend has been my Border Collie, April. If you know Border Collies, you know they're incredibly smart, full of energy, and always keeping you on your toes. April is family to me, and that bond made me want to share that same level of care with other pets. I know trusting someone with your pup isn't a small decision. That's why I'm always happy to do a meet-and-greet. It gives us both a chance to get to know each other and lets you see how I interact with your pet before making a decision. I take time to learn each pet's personality and specific needs, and I build my sitting entirely around that. I'm a full-time student, so I plan my schedule around both my classes and sitting, allowing me to be dependable for every dog I look after. I keep my calendar updated regularly so you can always see my availability. My goal is for you to feel completely comfortable while you're away. You can expect regular updates, lots of photos, and a few smile worthy moments throughout the day. I'll make sure their needs are met and leave your home just as I found it.
About: What sets me apart is the genuine love and care I have for every dog I meet. To me, dogs are never “just pets”, they’re family, and I know how much trust it takes to leave a family member in someone else’s care. My goal is always to make both you and your dog feel completely comfortable, safe, and cared for. I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have cared for them through every stage, from playful puppies to sweet senior dogs who need extra patience and gentle attention. I also have two years of professional dog walking experience, which has helped me become confident with dogs of all sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I’m very affectionate, dependable, and attentive, and I always take the time to understand what each dog needs to feel happy and secure. Whether that means going on long energetic walks, playing their favorite games, sticking to their routine, or simply giving them comfort and companionship, I’ll always care for them with kindness, patience, and love. I truly enjoy building a bond with every dog, and I treat them the same way I would want someone to treat my own. 🫶 Pet care fits really naturally into my routine because I have open availability and can adjust my schedule as needed. I’m flexible during the week and weekends, so I’m able to take on walks, drop-ins, or sitting whenever I’m needed. When I care for pets in a client’s home, I try to keep everything as close to their normal routine as possible so they feel comfortable and safe. I follow all instructions carefully: feeding schedules, walk times, medications if needed, and any specific habits or preferences the pet has. I make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and affection, whether that means playtime, long walks, or just being there with them so they don’t feel alone. I’m very clean and respectful of the home as well, so I always leave things the way I found them. Most importantly, I pay close attention to how each pet is feeling and adjust my care based on their personality, whether they need a lot of energy and stimulation or a calm, gentle presence.
“Angela is such a kind human being and you can tell how much she loves animals. It can be an uneasy thing letting someone else care for your pet, but with Angela we don't even think twice about it. She walked our dog once a day while we were at work and despite him being a bit of a hyper puppy she handled him with grace. She's super professional and keeps you posted on everything. Love Angela!”
“Randi was great - was a pretty last minute booking for me and 1st time using her - she offered to come for a meet and greet - Chassis loved her! She kept me well informed of arrival and walk details and always communicated throughout the process - would definitely recommend!”

“Lauryn is wonderful with my boy, Woofgang! I cannot say enough about her care for my dog and how much he enjoys her walks! I definitely recommend Lauryn for your furbaby’s needs. Thank you, Lauryn! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🐾🐾🐾”

About: Hi! I’m a big dog lover who’s always looking for an excuse to spend more time with pups. During the week I work as a Social Media Coordinator at an agency, but outside of work you will usually find me hanging out with dogs whenever I can. I have fostered several dogs over the years and it has been one of the most rewarding experiences for me. I love helping dogs feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they adjust to new environments.I also worked at Camp Bow Wow for about five months, where I gained hands on experience caring for and supervising dogs of all sizes and personalities. That experience confirmed what I already knew. I genuinely love being around dogs. Since I work during the week, I am mainly available on weekends and would love to help with dog walking or drop in visits. I will make sure your pup gets plenty of attention, exercise, and care while you are away.I cannot wait to meet you and your dog! I'm currently a server in the Hoboken area with a flexible schedule that allows me to offer pet care throughout the week. Dog walking and sitting fit perfectly into my routine, and it's something I genuinely enjoy. I'm reliable, accommodating, and love spending time with animals, making sure they feel comfortable and cared for. When walking dogs, I always prioritize their safety, comfort, and enjoyment. I stick to any routines or preferences the owner provides, whether it’s a preferred route, pace, or time of day. I make sure they get exercise, attention, and a chance to explore while staying in control and being mindful of their behavior around other dogs or distractions. I also provide updates after each walk so owners know how it went.

Pet care fits in my daily routine as I'm working part time and college is online. Distance isn't an issue and I'm free most of my week. About: I’ve cared and pampered dogs for over 25 years. I’ve had two miniature schnauzers, one was both blind and suffered dementia for 8 years. I’m very aware of special need dogs and give them the utmost individual attention. Currently, we have a cavapoo that spends most of her time with our daughter away at college. I’m an active walker and enjoy being outdoors. I take lots of walks with our dog and pay special attention to allowing long dog sniffs along the way. I’m currently off work for the summer so I have plenty of time to play and enjoy fun walks with your pet. There will be no rushing. I will treat your home and your dog as if it was my own. Taking great care and leave everything how I found it once my time is complete.

About: I’ve taken care of my own and other friends’ pets for several years. I take the time to get to know the pets I work with including what is healthy/enjoyable for them to eat and what activities they enjoy (ex: walks or play with pets). I’ve especially had practice with caring for energetic pets/ puppies. I work part-time as a medical assistant at a derm office, where I work 2-3 days a week. I have a flexible schedule if informed in advance. In caring for pets, I ensure that pets feel both love and comfortable in the environment that they are in whether that be by providing entertainment, lots of love, and a consistent routine. I always follow the rules and routines set forth by pets owners as they are the ones that know their pets the best and what will make their pet happy.

Juan is fantastic with my pup, Wally. Wally, a mini dachshund, can be bark-y and slow to warm up to people. Juan has been incredibly patient with him and understands his quirks. He’s also very communicative — always giving updates and letting me know how the walks go, which puts my mind at ease.

Cassie was wonderful with Bobby! She was communicative and gave me peace of mind while I was away. I really appreciated how trustworthy and reliable she was, and she took great care of Bobby. I would absolutely recommend Cassie to anyone looking for a caring and dependable dog walker.

I trust Michaella time and time again for her professionalism and the loving care she’s always given to my two frenchies. What an absolute gem and a pleasure to work with! My pups are always well exercised and delighted for the attention they are offered in Michaella’s care. Thank you so much!!!☺️

Edward was absolutely wonderful! He is a very gentle, kind, and smart guy who took the time to listen to all of my concerns and followed every instruction I gave him. Because of some behavior challenges my dog has, I’m very careful and nervous about handing him off to someone else, but Edward immediately made me feel comfortable and confident that my dog was in great hands. His patience, professionalism, and genuine care really stood out. I highly recommend Edward to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and compassionate to care for their dog!

Allison was incredible with our dog Luna. Luna is a rescue and is a little fearful of people. Allison was extremely accommodating and patient with her and now Luna loves going on walks with her. Allison is extremely prompt shares a lot of information and photos during her walks. We quickly got very comfortable having Allison take care of our Luna

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
