Mim is an animal lover through and through. Animal adoption is uncommon in our culture and Mim is one of the first people I knew that began caring for cats and kittens. She grew her family of animals from one to three cats, and the way I observed how they behave and respond to commands shows how well she was able to train and care for them. Oftentimes, I would go over her house just to play with her cats. Her infectious love for her animals has inspired several members of our community to also take the leap of faith and begin their own pet adoption journey. Mim expanded her care of animals to dogs as well upon moving to Florida. Her dog, Shadow, is a rescue and experiences significant anxiety and Mim has learned to comfort Shadow and help her cope during high stress situations. She posts Shadow as well as her cat, Appa on her TikTok which can really brighten someone’s day. Mim is an excellent caregiver and I would wholeheartedly trust her with my pets.
