“Brynne made a plan to come early for the first walk to get familiar with our pet and be sure that she had a good understanding of all care instructions. She communicated well throughout the process. She was willing to take our pup to the park to really be sure he was tired out before coming back which helps a ton with large dogs. Highly recommend!”

About: With over 10 years of experience caring for pets of all kinds—dogs, fish, birds, and more—I’m a true animal lover. I treat every pet as if they were my own, giving them the love and attention they deserve. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine, and I make sure to plan my schedule around the pets I’m caring for. I have a flexible routine that allows me to provide consistent, attentive care throughout the day, whether that’s morning visits, midday check-ins, or evening care. I understand that every pet has its own unique needs and sensitivities. I prioritize these to ensure comfort and peace of mind for both the pets and their owners.
About: Hi, I'm Melanie! I'm a pre-veterinary student at Montclair State University, and I can't remember a time when animals weren't a part of my life. For the past six years my best friend has been my Border Collie, April. If you know Border Collies, you know they're incredibly smart, full of energy, and always keeping you on your toes. April is family to me, and that bond made me want to share that same level of care with other pets. I know trusting someone with your pup isn't a small decision. That's why I'm always happy to do a meet-and-greet. It gives us both a chance to get to know each other, lets you see how I interact with your pet, and gives you the opportunity to ask any questions before making a decision. I take time to learn each pet's personality and specific needs, and I build my care entirely around that. My schedule is very flexible since I'm primarily focused on my studies, so I'm available most days for walks, drop-in visits, and overnight stays. I'm always happy to work around your schedule whenever possible. My goal is for you to feel completely comfortable while you're away. You can expect regular updates, lots of photos, and a few smile worthy moments throughout the day. I'll make sure your pet's needs are met and leave your home just as I found it. If there are medications, feeding instructions, or any special requests, you can count on me to follow them exactly as you've outlined.
“Susana was great. Showed up to my house, walked Gopher, left a Rover report card with photos and details about whether Gopher pee'd or pooped on the walk. I got to go out for the night without worrying, and I returned home and Gophie was asleep in her bed, happy as can be. : ) I would recommend Susana to anyone looking for a dog walker in the area. In fact, after getting her updates while I was out, I recommended her to two people I was hanging out with. Thanks, Susana!”

“Randi was great - was a pretty last minute booking for me and 1st time using her - she offered to come for a meet and greet - Chassis loved her! She kept me well informed of arrival and walk details and always communicated throughout the process - would definitely recommend!”

“Chen was on-time, professional, and maintained excellent communication throughout Raven’s dog walk. She provided multiple pictures as well which was very helpful. She also went above and beyond while Raven was going through a bout of diarrhea. Would definitely book Chen again!”

“I cannot express how grateful I am to have found such a fantastic dog walker for my fur babies, Chako and Koko. These two can be a handful, especially when it comes to strangers, but Calvin handled the situation with patience and expertise, the dogs warmed up with him quickly. Will definitely rebook again!”

“Pamela is amazing! I needed someone to walk Lyra while I was away and she went above and beyond! My Mom was taking care of my babies but due to an injury she can't walk Lyra but Pamela stepped in and gave Lyra a lot of exercise and stimulation. Lyra enjoyed it so much that she was waiting for her last night and today; Lyra definitely made a friend! My cats loved her energy too, my Mother tells me that every time she came to pick up Lyra they alsp went to her to say hi! All of my babies approved of her and to me thats the most important part. I recommed Pamela and I know that if I need someone to take care and walk Lyra again I can count on her!”

About: I havw taken care of my families and friends different animals (especially dogs). I've dog sat including feeding, bathing and walking their dogs and cats while away. Pet care fits in my daily routine as I'm working part time and college is online. Distance isn't an issue and I'm free most of my week. I wouldn't be caring for pets in my home, but in my clients home I would make sure all pets are taken care of properly and safe.
“Victor has went above and beyond for my pup Clara. Today even dried her off due to it being wet outside he also always refills her water before leaving the house. Definitely my go to dog walker.”

“Leslie is fantastic! Sean Connery is a demon spawn and Leslie did a great job with him even when Leslie walked into the apartment and Sean had escaped his crate and tore apart my living room. Luckily, Sean is only visiting. Leslie is great with my actual dog Echo who he walks every day. 12/10 would recommend.”

I trust Michaella time and time again for her professionalism and the loving care she’s always given to my two frenchies. What an absolute gem and a pleasure to work with! My pups are always well exercised and delighted for the attention they are offered in Michaella’s care. Thank you so much!!!☺️

Samantha literally could not have been any better! She watched my pup for about a week and a half, and took such incredible care of him. He was coming down from a stomach bug when I dropped him, and she was so diligent with his medicine and providing me updates. She also got hit with a LOT of weather (like wildfire smoke, tornado watches, it was a time) and I never had to worry about him because she always knew just what to do and made sure he was safe indoors when necessary and got as many walks and breaks as were possible/safe. So many photos of the two of them cuddling. She clearly fell in love with him over the week, and I don’t think she wanted to give him back 🤣 will be using her for literally every trip possible!

John is an absolutely incredible dog walker for Hal over the past year, walking him four days a week. He is exceptionally communicative, responsive, reliable, and accommodating, and we always know Hal isin wonderful hands with him. The clearest testament to John is Hal’s reaction every time he arrives—Hal is beyond excited to see him, and we’re fairly certain John is his favorite person in the world! Their bond is genuinely special and gives us so much confidence and peace of mind. We could not recommend John more highly to anyone looking for a caring, dependable, and truly exceptional dog walker. If we could give him more than five stars, we absolutely would!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
