About: Hi! Besides growing up with dogs, I used to dog sit in college for about 2 years. I also own an Australian Shepherd, who I raised since she was a puppy. Based on all this, I have experience from puppy to senior dogs and understand what is needed when it comes to caring for dogs. I work remotely full-time but I am able to come walk & stay with your pup in the morning or evenings (and special requests during lunch time). If I come to your home, I will respect your space and belongs. As for your pup, I will make sure I follow your instructions on what is best for them. Whether that is making sure they are in their crate or certain room before I leave, have food in their bowl or giving them fresh water!
About: I've been taking care of pets since the time I could walk. My own dogs are two small white ones (4 and 6), but I have extensive experience with pets of all sizes and ages. Neighbors and colleagues have trusted me with their daschunds, terriers, pitbulls, malteses, bichons, dalmations, basset hounds, and spaniels too. I raised two litters of puppies to adoption and saw a very old dog through her roughest days. I can care for other animals too. I kept a veritable menagerie – two cockatiels, two rabbits, a guinea pig, and a bichon – happy and healthy for a full two months while the family was traveling. I work remotely and I live right on the end of the path train line which means I can get anywhere in the city on a moment’s notice. Thus, I have the time and ability to give your fur-babies with the consistency and love that they deserve. At this time, I can’t bring more animals into my apartment but I can walk, feed, snuggle, play with and entertain your pets from the comfort of their own home.
About: I am an animal lover to my core and am sure that I will have as much fun with your pets as they will have with me! I know what an important part of the family pets are, so rest assured nothing is more important to me than your pets’ safety and happiness. Aside from my family’s own pets, I have previously pet sat puppies, kittens, adult dogs and cats, and senior dogs for friends on numerous occasions. I have fairly open availability for pet care. Other than the days I am required to be in the office for work (Tu/Wed/Th), I have very little obligations that would interfere with care. Pets are members of the family and should be treated as such! Maintaining a safe and comfortable environment is of the upmost importance. Having dog friendly space in the home, the availability of a plethora of toys, or making sure each walk is engaging and fun - whatever the pet needs to be happy and taken care of.
“Michael was so kind and responsive. He took the time to meet my dog before even walking her. She loved him! Would absolutely recommend him for any of your pet watching needs. Thank you, Michael!”

About: Hi, I’m Rita — a lifelong animal lover with a heart for pups and a head for details. I treat every dog like family, blending genuine affection with a calm, reliable presence that pets (and their humans!) can count on. Whether it’s belly rubs, long walks, or sticking to a strict medication schedule, I bring both warmth and responsibility to every visit. One of my proudest experiences was fostering Leland, a sweet pittie love bug, for nearly a year. Helping him grow in confidence and eventually find his forever home was a beautiful reminder of how much love and trust dogs give when they feel safe and cared for. That’s the kind of connection I strive to build with every pup I meet. With me, your dog gets more than a sitter — they get a new best friend. Pet care is my passion and priority—I'm available for evening walks all week, plus overnight stays and weekend boarding to keep tails wagging and hearts happy. I offer a cozy, yard-free home with indoor play, enrichment, and leashed walks. I am able to host one dog under 50lbs and two dogs under 30lbs.
“This was our second time using Rick. He is great with our dog who is aggressive. He takes him on long walks that tire him out and I know our dog Ben is safe in his care.”
About: I’ve have had a family cats and dogs my whole life that I have fed, walked, played with, and loved. Also, I have pet sat for multiple friends and family who have relied on me to do the same for their pets. I am familiar with Rover as I have been working for the app for over 3 years and have now dog and cat sit numerous times. I work a 9:30a-5:30p job but have the flexibility to offer services early morning, midday, evening times and weekends. Will schedule around work to make sure I take care of your pets in a timely manner. I would care for your pets just like I would care for my own. No matter the living situation of a client, I will always prioritize the pets safety, health, and happiness.
About: I’m a patient, dependable, and caring dog lover who genuinely enjoys spending time with animals. Growing up, I helped care for and dog sit for friends, and neighbors, which gave me valuable experience working with dogs of different sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities. From feeding and refreshing water bowls to taking dogs on walks, letting them outside for bathroom breaks, administering basic care, and making sure they received plenty of love, attention, and exercise, I have always enjoyed helping pets feel happy, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I have been dog sitting for many years and have experience with a variety of pet care arrangements. This includes staying overnight in clients’ homes to maintain their pets’ normal routines, providing extended care while owners are traveling, and stopping by for drop-in visits to feed, walk, and spend quality time with their dogs. I understand that every dog has unique needs, energy levels, and routines, and I always make it a priority to adapt my care to what makes each pet feel most comfortable and secure. Because I work from home most days, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to accommodate a variety of timing needs. Whether your dog needs a midday walk, multiple check-ins throughout the day, or someone to spend extra time with them while you’re away, I can often provide the flexibility and attention that many pet owners are looking for. Working remotely also means I can be more available for longer visits and can give pets additional companionship and supervision throughout the day. Above all, I treat every dog as if they were my own. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I take that responsibility seriously. My goal is always to provide a safe, loving, and stress-free experience for both pets and their owners, ensuring that your dog receives plenty of attention, affection, exercise, and care while you have peace of mind knowing they are in good hands. I currently work from home most days, which gives me a flexible schedule. While I do go into the city a few times each month for work, I’m usually home and make it a point to get outside for walks during my lunch break and I’d love a furry friend to join me. I provide care in my clients’ homes and do not offer boarding in my own home. I believe pets are often most comfortable in their familiar environment, where they can stick to their normal routines and feel secure. I will carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding, walks, etc. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I am patient, dependable, and happy to adapt to each dog’s unique personality and routine.

Natalie was great with my dog Daphne! I felt completely confident that Daphne was happy and safe in her care. Natalie was very responsive, sent lots of photos, and provided thorough updates after each visit. She followed all of my instructions closely, and Daphne seemed so happy and comfortable with her. I would absolutely book Natalie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, responsible, and reliable dog walker or sitter!

Sona’s enjoyed her walks in Manhattan with Jimmy & his team. We moved from Toronto to Manhattan and were looking for a dogwalker that can handle Sona that’s a bit leash reactive and new to the busy & overstimulating Manhattan environment after living a suburban life. Her transition has been made so much smoother with these structured walks that Sona gets! I can see her get better every day :) Would highly recommend them if you need a knowledgeable handler that can handle reactive doggos that need a lot of discipline and structure during their walks.

Issy and her boyfriend were so kind and easy to communicate with. I had a last-minute booking for dog walking and she was so sweet and really accommodating to my schedule. I could tell that my dog really enjoyed his walk with her and would highly recommend/rebook her!

Franco is awesome to work with. He clicked with my pup from the first time they met, and she probably looks forward to seeing him more than me! He brings her on thorough walks, plays with her, and sends pictures and notes about their walks. I can’t recommend him enough!

10/10!!! I'm so grateful I came across Katherine's profile! She is kind, pays attention to details, reliable and goes above and beyond! Bluey (my dog) had a fun time on her walk and was super tired afterwards, and empty - she didn't have to go out again for a long time. I already booked more walks with her, thank you Katherine!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
