About: I've always had dogs in my life growing up and recently have gotten a puppy on my own! However, I moved to Jersey for my post-doctoral fellowship and was unable to bring her with me. I have a well trained 5 year-old doodle that I miss a ton! I love long walks and would be awesome to bring your furry friend with me and I can definitely leash train while on walks as well. your pet remains clean, comfortable, and happy throughout their stay. You can expect timely updates and photos so you can see how well your furry friend is doing. Your pet will be in a loving and attentive environment, receiving the best care possible. I currently work from home so I will have plenty of time with your pups! I love training dogs and I would say it is my specialty. I have a fenced in dog area and lots of parks around my neighborhood that I would love to take your dog around. We'll enjoy long walks then just park up on the couch watching TV.
“Courtney is simply the best! She has been such a huge help with potty training my puppy, Sonny, and goes above and beyond to make sure he’s comfortable and happy. As a puppy new to the city, he’s needed extra care, and Courtney has been so hands-on, positive, and kind throughout the process. I literally walk out of my way to bring him to her because he gets SO excited to see her every time! Knowing he’s in such great hands gives me so much peace of mind. Highly recommend!”

About: Dear Pet Parent, My name is Claudia, and I am a passionate animal lover, and enjoy spending time with animals. Currently, I don’t have a pet of my own, so I have an abundance of love to share. Having grown up with pets, I’ve gained experience caring for dogs, cats, and ferrets. I would love the opportunity to meet your pet and spend quality time together. Thank you! :) Best regards, Claudia Medel I currently work from home, so my schedule tends to be very flexible, if you are in the area I can always take your dog for a walk. Every pet is different, as well as their place. I appreciate to receive information from dog owners in advance about all the needs the pet might have.
“Amanda was wonderful with out dachshund, Lola, who fell in love with her very quickly. Lola can be a bit of a handful (big personality, Napoleon syndrome) but Amanda knew how to handle her, and it sounds like they both had a great time. I know Lola got lots of cuddles and activity, and after the first day (when she was nervous being left with a stranger), she was very excited to see Amanda every morning.”

“Peter was amazing with our puppy, Watson. He was extremely patient, communicative, and punctual. He sent photos throughout the days that Watson was with him and provided updates. I am so grateful to have found him and can't recommend him highly enough. Thanks Peter!”

“Paige took great care of our high-energy pup! We appreciated her quick response time and how she provided updates throughout the night. Would definitely use Paige again!”

“She was amazing with my dog! He loved her when he first saw her, and the videos tell me he felt comfortable around her. There were frequent updates with photos and videos, it made me feel safe :)”

“Anne is the best dog sitter you could ask for!! I couldn’t recommend her more highly. She was as sweet as can be and treated Bumble like her own from day one. She lives right next to a dog park, and was cognizant of Bumbles safety at all times. She was patient in areas where he needs training, and sent the cutest pictures and updates! We are so sad that we have to leave Toronto and Anne, but she is the only dog sitter for us whenever we come back!!”

“Carolina was so wonderful with our girl! We were visiting Vancouver and wanted someone to hang out with Zadie while we went out for dinner and did some other not dog-friendly activities. Carolina was communicative and easy and helped us enjoy our time in the city!”

“Our Bear really enjoyed his stay with Audrey and her dog! He sprinted away from us to go play with his new friends on his second day. Audrey was very flexible with adjusting pick up and drop off times too. She also provided picture updates and was very attentive. Highly recommend!”

“Vincent watched our doggie while my family and I did a trip to the Statue of Liberty for a few hours. I appreciated him being able to take our last minute booking request. Xena had a great time and Vincent was super communicative and flexible. Highly recommend!”

“Our little Tate looked like he had a wonderful time! From the moment they first met, Tate seemed really at ease with Nancy and Derek. They were so communicative and caring, and Tate will definitely be back!”

About: ve been caring for animals for as long as I can remember. My first dog — Lucy, a Border Collie I had when I was 11 back in Shanghai, China — was my best friend for 16 years. Alongside her, I cared for a rescued stray cat "Noji" and an adopted poodle "Bebe" when I was 13, which taught me patience, responsibility, policing different pets, and how to understand different pet personalities. After moving to the U.S. for school, I brought home my baby Corgi "Brioche" in 2020. She’s now a 5-year-old certified service dog who’s friendly, well-trained, and walked three times a day for at least 30 minutes each time. I also helped train and kept a baby Devon Rex cat for my family in 2025. What sets me apart is my lifelong, hands-on experience with pets of different breeds, ages, and temperaments — from energetic puppies to senior dogs. I love fur babies more than anything and always prioritize their comfort, safety, and happiness. I will be working part time starting summer 2026 in NYC, so my schedule is flexible, I'm available for daily walks, boarding both weekdays and weekends. I live in a 2 bedroom in FiDi close to battery park city. There are no crates and my corgi was never crate-trained. I don't have indoor pet potty so I almost only take my dog out for potty unless the weather is crazy. I have plenty of dog beds and toys.

Sophia is a fantastic sitter! My dog Muppet was a little timid and scared at first, but Sophia handled her perfectly. She sent me pictures shortly after I left, and Muppet already looked so happy and relaxed. It was such a relief to see how well taken care of she was. I would definitely leave Muppet with her again. Thank you, Sophia!

Yoon was absolutely wonderful with Emilio! She was kind, attentive, responsible, and very caring throughout the day. She kept me updated and made me feel completely comfortable knowing Emilio was in good hands. I would definitely recommend Yoon to any family looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable sitter. We would be very happy to have her take care of Emilio again! ❤️

Vincent watched our doggie while my family and I did a trip to the Statue of Liberty for a few hours. I appreciated him being able to take our last minute booking request. Xena had a great time and Vincent was super communicative and flexible. Highly recommend!

Our dog Scotch had a very good time with Hahillah! He seemed like he was in high spirits and really enjoyed the company of his dog friends. Hahillah seemed to know a great deal about Dachshund’s behavioural traits and quirks. And I would 100% recommend her and contact her again to take care of Scotch when we visit :)

Vera was wonderful with our little Shih Tzu! She took him out for walks and gave him a comfortable place to rest, kept us updated with pictures and videos and was very responsive and communicative throughout the booking process and the actual stay. Cannot recommend her highly enough!

Lorna is wonderful. She is communicative, sending photo and video updates throughout the day so I did not have to wonder how my doggie Parsley is doing. What means the most to me is how experienced and thoughtful she is, always taking my girl's timid personality into account and making sure she feels safe and comfortable. It's clear to me that she is someone who cares and understands dogs, not just babysitting them. I feel reassured and relaxed knowing she is in such good hands. I highly recommend her to anyone with a more sensitive doggie who can use extra love and care. Thanks so much Lorna!

I cannot recommend Laura enough! From the moment she met Muppet, I knew she was in great hands. She is incredibly attentive, communicative, and clearly has a natural gift with animals. While I was away, Laura sent me updates and photos that put my mind completely at ease. But the real proof was when I came to pick Muppet, she was absolutely beaming! I have never seen her look so happy and relaxed after a stay. It was obvious she had been spoiled with love, long walks, and plenty of cuddles. If you are looking for someone who will treat your fur baby like family, look no further than Laura. I would definitely be book with her again!

Zaina was so great to Kiwi! She had shared many updates throughout the day, with reports on Kiwi’s food consumption and tons of pictures of him enjoying the day with Zaina. Zaina is an amazing communicator and we really felt at ease knowing that Kiwi was doing well :) Thanks again! Would happy work with you again!~

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Hoboken commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
