“Honestly, she’s more than amazing. She’s guided me to become a better puppy mom as a first time dog owner. Sungmin got out of her way to pick up my dog at 6am in morning almost everyday!!! If that doesn’t show you, her love for dogs idk what will. She sends me pictures & videos throughout the whole day and keeps you updated on everything. My pup loves her and her other dogs so much! So grateful for her. Book her please. Your dog will be in the best hands. 🫶🏼”

“Milo stayed at Erand's place again for daycare and he came home very happy! Erand was great communicating and made sure Milo got enough play and rest.”

“Hua took great care of my puppy for two weeks (weekdays from 8am–7pm), and I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. She is incredibly gentle and patient, and you can truly tell she cares. She always kept my puppy clean and comfortable. On rainy or snowy days, she would thoughtfully wash her paws and blow them dry. Most importantly, my puppy came home happy every single day. That alone tells me she felt safe and well cared for. I really appreciate Hua’s kindness and the wonderful company she gave my puppy.”

“She is EXTRAORDINARY! Words can not do her level of professionalism and love of our dog Goose! She treated Goose and us just like family. She was kind and understanding...we tried to not be late for meeting which is hard in NYC with 3 children..She is the best fit for any situation!”

“Tracy took great care of my dog, Melo, and made her feel at home right away. She also was mindful to check about any sensitivities and gave Melo medication on time, and sent so many photos throughout the day! I would highly recommend Tracy!”

About: I am deeply and utterly a major dog person. But I also love cats! I grew up with a beloved dog, and when I later met my wife and she came with two cats, I quickly fell in love with all of them. Sadly our cats have passed. Last Fall, we adopted our beautiful 4 year old lab mix, Goose. I have worked as a pet walker and sitter for years, and I believe wholeheartedly that dogs are basically humans, except way better! I work from home and my schedule is super flexible, so I can give your pets the love and attention they deserve all day long. I like to keep your pets on their regular schedule so they can feel calm while their parents are away, so you make the rules and I'm happy to follow them! I have great references and reviews that I’m happy to provide. Hope to see you and your pups and kits soon! I work remotely, and my schedule is super flexible. I’m available seven days a week. My schedule allows me to be very accommodating to all of your pets’ unique needs. My wife and I live in Greenpoint with our dog Goose. We are open to having your pets stay at our house or dropping in for walks or visits.
“Our pup had a great time with Michelle! She was happy to play and go on many walks. Definitely tired by the time we picked her up. We would certainly use Michelle again for doggy day care in the future.”

“Gabrielle did an amazing job taking care of Rio! She was very communicative, sent lots of photos and updates throughout the day, and made me feel completely at ease. I could tell Rio was having a great time and was very comfortable with her. He came home happy and tired, which is always a good sign 😊. I’ll definitely be booking with Gabrielle again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter. This is my first time using rover for pet sitting and I feel so lucky to have found Gabrielle!”

About: We are lifelong animal lovers. Growing up, I also cared for rescue dogs, so helping pets in need has always been close to my heart. Today, we are proud parents to Dobby, our sweet Pomeranian who we adopted from a local rescue center. Giving Dobby a second chance at a loving home has been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Because of these experiences, we truly understand how important it is to trust the people caring for your furry family member. We work from home in LIC, so your pup will never be left alone for long. Daily walks by the water, cozy playtime in our spacious living room, and plenty of snuggles on our big couch are part of the routine here. Safety and comfort always come first—we’ll follow your pet’s feeding schedule, respect their personality and quirks, and send frequent photo updates so you always know how they’re doing. We also believe in giving back: a portion of what we earn is donated to local animal rescue organizations, because every pet deserves love and safety. As a fellow pet parent, I know how important it is to respect each pet’s own routine, personality, and little quirks. Since my partner and I both work from home, we have the flexibility to adjust our day around your pet’s needs—whether that’s a midday walk, playtime, or quiet companionship. Our regular hours are 10AM to 9:30PM for non- boarding service. Additional rates might be required for time outside of regular hours. In my home (for boarding): We keep a clean, pet-friendly space with no hazards. Doors and windows are secured at all times, and pets are never left unattended outside. Walks are always on-leash with secure harnesses or collars—never off-leash unless specifically approved by the owner. Pets have access to cozy rest areas, toys, and fresh water at all times. If your pet prefers a crate or a separate quiet space, we can easily accommodate that. In a client’s home (drop-ins): I always respect your home and follow your instructions carefully, from feeding schedules and walking routes to medication routines. I make sure your pet stays in their familiar environment and feels comfortable while you’re away. As fellow pet parents, we understand that every dog or cat has their own habits and quirks. We will always follow your directions strictly and do our best to maintain your pet’s normal routine so they feel safe, secure, and loved.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Long Island City
Angelina was great! I dropped my dog Pico off for the week at hers for doggy day care. She was very quick to respond and sent pictures throughout the day. She was very easy going and flexible with drop off and pickup times which was great for me because I work unconventional work hours. Pico got home very relaxed, it was clear he got good exercise. After a few days of taking him to Angelina’s before work, he started getting really excited when he saw me getting ready which I thought was really cute. My experience with Angelina couldn’t have gone better and I will 100% book her again.

Ashley was great watching my dog Eleanor for the day! She was very flexible with timing and very communicative. She asked questions about Eleanor's habits and care, so I knew my dog was in good hands. I got pictures and videos of Eleanor throughout the day and could tell she was having a great time. I would definitely trust Ashley with my dog any time!

Allison was so wonderful to work with! Sent lots of pictures and updates and was able to accommodate a last minute request which I greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend Allison, I know Reagan had a great time on his day with her and I am definitely planning to send him to her again!

She is EXTRAORDINARY! Words can not do her level of professionalism and love of our dog Goose! She treated Goose and us just like family. She was kind and understanding...we tried to not be late for meeting which is hard in NYC with 3 children..She is the best fit for any situation!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Long Island City commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
