“Another great stay with Ron and MJ! Hades is always so excited to see MJ in the morning, and it is so helpful that they are able to pick him up and drop him off! They have been so accommodating with my work schedule, and I am so relieved to know Hades is safe and in good hands when I'm gone for the day! Ron and MJ have generously supplied toys and treats so Hades has new things to enjoy when he spends the day with them. I can't recommend them highly enough!!”

About: Hi there! Animal lover here that works from home. I keep my apartment very clean and pet friendly. Your pet will always be loved and have my full attention :) I am prompt with updates, attentive, and very caring. A few minutes away from me there is an InstaVet open late in case of emergency. I have several years of hands-on experience caring for pets, including volunteering at local animal shelters where I worked closely with pups and kitties. My background in shelter volunteering has taught me patience, adaptability, and how to manage different temperaments, making me well-equipped to handle any situation. Whether it's providing extra care for senior pets, or just offering a safe and loving environment, I’m dedicated to ensuring your pet feels comfortable and happy while you're away. I have a special place in my heart for cats and dogs and will ensure your pet feels right at home while under my care. I have a remote job, so I am always near your pet while caring for them! Providing the right care and proper attention is my priority. I have fostered fur babies before, so my home is always kept clean and pet safe. I give my full attention to the pet I am caring for and they will always be safe.
“Our pooch Mochi had so much fun at daycare with Ikea and her sweet dog Blossom. She's already been back a second time. Ikea is an amazing care taker and great communicator. Definitely recommend!”

About: I am deeply a major dog person. But I also love cats! I grew up with a beloved dog, and when I later met my wife and she came with two cats, I quickly fell in love with all of them. Sadly our cats have passed. Last Fall, we adopted our beautiful 4 year old lab mix, Goose. I have worked as a pet walker and sitter for years, and I believe wholeheartedly that dogs are basically humans, except way better! I work from home and my schedule is super flexible, so I can give your pets the love and attention they deserve all day long. I like to keep your pets on their regular schedule so they can feel calm while their parents are away, so you make the rules and I'm happy to follow them! I have great references and reviews that I’m happy to provide. Hope to see you and your pups and kits soon! I work remotely, and my schedule is super flexible. I’m available seven days a week. My schedule allows me to be very accommodating to all of your pets’ unique needs. My wife and I live in Greenpoint with our dog Goose. We are open to having your pets stay at our house or dropping in for walks or visits.
“Stacey and Andrew were fantastic with my girl, Sol! 💕 They sent regular photo updates, kept me in the loop throughout her stay, and were incredibly helpful when I needed care on short notice. The best part was seeing how comfortable Sol was with them! Every photo made it clear she was happy, relaxed, and getting plenty of love (I think she spent most of the stay on Stacey's lap! 🤣). I'd absolutely trust Stacey and Andrew with Sol again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring, reliable sitters. Thank you!”

About: I've taken care of kitties & dogs since I was about 12 years old! I was a neighborhood favorite sitter, and would always get called upon to walk, feed, love & care for any and all furry friends. I won't forget about your plant babies either! If you're looking for a sitter while you're out of town, I'm here for whatever you need. I currently work part-time as a yoga teacher, so my schedule is very flexible! I'm always around during the week, as well as most weekends. I know how scary & difficult it can be to part with our pets during times of travel, so my main goal is to make sure you feel comfortable and know 100% that your fur baby is loved & cared for. I will always make the time, free of charge, to meet with you & your fur baby before our first booking, to make sure that there's a natural connection there. I'm around for whatever you need, and promise to send lots of updates & pictures!
“Roki had a great time with Antonio! I was traveling and Roki was staying with my friend - and it’s amazing that I could find a great care in a new neighborhood on a short notice.”

“She is EXTRAORDINARY! Words can not do her level of professionalism and love of our dog Goose! She treated Goose and us just like family. She was kind and understanding...we tried to not be late for meeting which is hard in NYC with 3 children..She is the best fit for any situation!”

“Sungmin was great! She was very friendly, flexible and a huge help to me and my puppy. After one week of daycare, my puppy picked up a few new tricks and learned how to properly walk on the leash. Sungmin sent me pictures and videos during the day so that I could see what a good time my puppy was having.”

“Tania is very responsive and very flexible with the pick up and drop off schedule, which makes my day much easier. My dog looks having a good time from the pictures shared during the day”

“Sonia took great care of my sensitive dog. My pup is nervous in new settings, however she quickly warmed up to Sonia and became more comfortable as the day went on. My dog also loved being out in her beautiful yard. Sonia provided frequent updates and answered all my questions, which helped put my mind at ease. I would recommend her and will use her again for my dog!”

About: I grew up together with dogs. From German shepherds, Rottweilers, Boomers, Huskies and Dachshunds, we had them all. I really enjoy spending time with dogs and I can provide daily exercise and basic training skills. I am available on workdays and some weekends to walk and run with dogs, visit parks and enjoy the neighborhood. I try to respond as quickly as possible to new requests. I have a big apartment and a fenced (shared) yard where dogs can run around and play. I also have a roof terrace and several parks nearby. In my experience, dogs enjoy most being in parks, where they can enjoy the fresh air and interact with other dogs
“Xiaohui was an incredible sitter for Milo! After mentioning he's a high energy dog, she took him on extra long walks to make sure he's well exercised. Xiaohui also took amazing photos of him with the Manhattan skyline and even edited them. Thanks for giving Milo so much attention and love! He came home very happy”

Sungmin took excellent care of Rollo, kept us updated and made day care stress free. We received a number of pleasant updates with photos and videos. The whole process was smooth from pick up to drop off and would have Rollo stay again! Highly recommend to fellow paw-rents

Tatiana was a great help for me. She took great care of my Poppy. You can see that she's a natural with dogs — she sent me lots of updates throughout the day about what they did, and I could tell how much fun Poppy had with her. Will definitely use her again!

Danielle was the best dog sitter. Very responsive and engaging with our Lulu and with our family. She followed up with texts, pictures and always promptly. Lulu had a great day under her care. Thank you Danielle. Next time we’re in NYC we’ll reach out again.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Long Island City commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
