“Jennifer is so great with my pup Kins! She is very responsive and always keeps me updated throughout the day. Kins came back so happy and I can tell she has a great day when she’s with Jennifer. 🥰🐾💗”

“Juliana watched our precious pup Winston for the day while we went to the US open (she is located right by the stadiums and had phenomenal reviews). She did not disappoint! She was very attentive to Winston and patient with him as he can be quite shy at first. He had a very good experience and I’m glad we left him in good hands.”

“Nicolas and his family were great with our 8-month old puppy, Sky. Sky is very energetic and they tired him out playing in the yard and even took him for a walk in the neighborhood. They were so friendly and welcoming when we dropped him off, which made us feel very comfortable leaving him for the evening. They sent us lots of pictures and videos, and Sky was having a great time. They have a lot of experience with dogs all ages and sizes. We will definitely book with them again!”

“She was amazing, informative and understanding. My dog is usually very anxious and doesn’t adapt quickly to new people. He did great with her and all the pups who stayed there as well. I Will definitely be booking again.”

“I found Jennifer while searching for a dogsitter for Thanksgiving. She was terrific. We did a meet-and-greet beforehand to get acquainted. She is very nice and clearly comfortable with dogs. She was flexible with timing (drop off and pick up) and sent me messages and pictures for updates. Very grateful she was available for the holiday. I recommend Jennifer to anyone with a dog who is looking for a sitter.”

“I couldn't recommend Janet more. She is incredibly communicative, professional, friendly, and positive. I received fast responses to my messages and pictures and videos of my 9 week old puppy. I could tell when he got home that he had the most fulfilling time of his young life. Dante took to her and he is on the shy side for a puppy. I knew when I met her that this was right for Dante not just for the short term, but in the long term as he grows up. I look forward to working with her and I am so happy I found the right person to help Dante grow up into the best dog he can be. :)”

About: It started as just me on Rover, my sister Melissa has joined me and that's why we share a profile . I am a 33 year old pastry chef who is currently working full time but with a rather flexible schedule and certain nights available for overnight dog sitting. My sister Melissa works from home, she has her own online store on Etsy, k9felinePeru (check it out!) So she will be providing most of the services we offer for your pets since she is home mostly all day, everyday and she is also a dog lover like me. I lost my beautiful pitbull mix, Sedgwick and then Dollar both to cancer 8 years ago and 1 month ago, respectively. I used to cook for Sedg and Dollar, healthy and organic in addition to their daily vitamins and minerals. Furthermore, I have experience with dog medication/ sick dogs/ special needs since I went through it with my own dogs. Seg had to take pain killers, steroids and a series of other pills that helped prolong his life and us spend more time together. Dollar had food allergies in addition to environmental ones like pollen and the like so we were very careful with his diet and the cleaning products we use in our household. We just lost him to prostate cancer which he battled for 2 years. We are a sisters team providing the best service for you and your pets in the area. We both love taking long walks in the park, massage bellies and scratch the right spot :) Just some additional info: We welcome potential clients into our home for a visit before you hire us, for your peace of mind, we understand that your fur child is just as important as any other member of your family, that's how we felt about our dogs anyway :)) Ask us about making an appointment to meet us. Melissa has experience with senior dogs taking care of a blind goldendoodle until he turned 16 1/2 and became unable to move. Daily she provided pills for his arthritis, vitamins, put his boots on since his mobility started declining and made his food. Why we love dog sitting Our whole lives as a children my parents never let me and my sister have one, my dad has always been afraid of them. But that didn't stop us, we found ways to have pets at home, we started with hamsters and as adults we finally got dogs in our lives. Melissa is self-employed. She makes her own schedule and has the freedom to choose and change everything everyday in her schedule with ease without problems. Here at home we live to cuddle. Pets are allowed on the bed and sofa. We can go on long walks if needed. Everything is done on time if they have a strict regiment for whatever reason like behavior training or ailments. For cats we love playing with them but understand they are more independent and try to learn their patterns to let them be as free as possible or if they are playful even better for us ❤️
“It was Bedie‘s first time in daycare away from home, and Shirley took excellent care of her! She was very understanding of Bedie‘s quirks and accommodating with my last minute change of schedule. Shirley‘s dog is also wonderful and I‘m happy Bedie made a friend.”

“La primera parte que me gustó es que ella estaba dispuesta a cuidar a shadow la ora que yo quería . Me encanto porque shadow estaba muy contento para regresar al siguiente día .en un futuro dejaría otra ves a shadow con María Paula ?”

“Sonia is amazing! Dalbit loved her space - I feel good knowing he has a great outdoor area to play. She sent me tons of videos and photos during the day. Definitely recommend her!”

“Thank you for looking after the fur baby. On our way home he kept trying to go back into the building because we left his new friends behind. Safe the say he wants to come back! :)”

“Ana was so sweet and kind to my puppy. She sent me multiple updates and pictures throughout the day and treated him with so much love. She followed my schedule with him to the T and I could tell he enjoyed being with her and her with him. My puppy came home tired and happy and we will be repeat customers!”

“All went great! Zuri was happy to meet everyone for the first time and warmed up fast (unique for our nervous doggo!) We got fun pics and Zuri was happy and healthy when we picked her up. We would trust our Zuri with Kuan and Zhixi again!”

“Anastasia took amazing care of Sully. It was clear how happy he was after his stay! Anastasia was extremely responsive to all of our messages, sent pictures, and clearly has a vast knowledge of dog breeds, behaviors and tendencies. Looking forward to having her watch Sully again next week, thanks Anastasia!”

About: I have had pets since you were little so I have always had this initiative to be able to take care of them, love them and understand them. However, I worked as a groomer in a small store so I have been able to acquire more knowledge about their care and how important it is to keep them healthy, clean and healthy. Currently I stay at home, so I have the will to take care of and be able to have pets during the week and also be able to go for a walk and give them what they need, I am also a photographer and I can take beautiful photos of your pet Currently in my house I have 2 cats that are perfectly adaptable, so I can get another pet and have it temporarily with me and give it all the love it needs

Paula was amazing with Kirby! 🥰 She was so sweet, caring, and very accommodating with everything we needed. I felt completely comfortable leaving Kirby with her, and I could tell Kirby was happy and well taken care of. I really appreciate how kind and attentive Paula was. I would definitely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and loving to care for their pup! 🐶💕

Athena was kind enough to respond quickly to my last-minute request. I dropped off my little Stevie and she was so warm and welcoming. Stevie had so much fun. I’d pick him up and he would be so happy and when I would drop him off the next day, he would be excited ! Not only did she send me multiple pictures and videos, but she kept me up-to-date with his potty schedule and eating schedule! He had so much fun with her pupps as well ! I’m so happy I found these wonderful ladies. Thank you so much for taking such great care of my Stevie and he will definitely be back in your care soon. I highly recommend booking with them 👌🏼

We had such a wonderful experience with Juliana! Snowball stayed with Juliana while we attended US Open Fan Week, and we couldn’t have felt more comfortable knowing she was in such good hands. Juliana was caring, attentive, and made sure Snowball was happy and well cared for. We especially loved receiving all the pictures and updates from Juliana throughout Snowball’s stay. It gave us so much peace of mind and made us feel like we were still a part of her day while we were away. We would absolutely trust Juliana to care for Snowball again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone dependable, caring, and loving to watch their fur baby! 🐾❤️

Emily took such amazing care of our puppy, Remy! 🐶 She sent us photos and videos regularly, which gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was happy and in good hands. She took him on walks, followed all of our instructions, and made sure he was well cared for throughout his stay. Remy even got to spend time and play with her dogs, which he absolutely loved! We felt completely comfortable leaving him with Emily and are so grateful for how well she cared for him. We will definitely be booking with her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!

Peggy and Anthony were terrific with our very active young cockapoo. Even though our dog stayed with them for the first time, it was as if she knew them all this time. Peggy and Anthony were also very responsive, warm, understanding and easy to talk to about the dog’s needs. We look forward to having them take care of our dog again in the future.

Kayla was wonderful to our Tonton. She offered meet & greet ahead of the stay and even knows how to deal with Tonton's anxiety. He warmed up to her pretty fast with her approach which rarely happens and she constantly sent us updates throughout Tonton's stay. We could tell from the videos and photos that Tonton enjoyed his time with Kayla. We are very satisfied and would book her again!

Janie was great with our senior dog who is very anxious. Janie went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable for the day. She sat with him, let him explore, and gave him a lot of attention. She was very thoughtful with her questions in order to really understand his needs and updated us throughout the day. We will definitely book with her again.

Jennifer and her husband are wonderful caretakers. This was the first time we left our puppy with anyone outside the family and she loved them and I picked her up very happy. Jennifer was also very communicative and sent pictures throughout the day which we appreciated a lot. Would def recommend!!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your East Elmhurst commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
