“John was great - Extremely responsive and kept me updated while my dog Ollie stayed with him. I gave so many instructions because Ollie has separation anxiety and John took them all very well. When I got Ollie back he was so calm and relaxed because John took such good care of him!”

“Adriana to the rescue! We received a last minute cancellation from a dog sitter right before vacation and were in desperate need. Adriana was super responsive and put us at ease in such a short time. She was so good with our energetic pup and kept us updated with the cutest pictures! I personally feel our dog Chloe felt she was on vacation during her stay with Adriana. Thank you again!!”

“Iliana was absolutely wonderful. Our dog, Cali, stayed with Iliana for 6 nights and she took great care of her and even washed her before we picked her up. We will definitely be using her as our go-to sitter from now on.”

“David and his partner are great! Our dog had a fun time with lots of walks and play time at the dog park. We got regular pictures/updates and are so happy with the care our dog received.”

About: What sets me apart is the combination of hands-on experience, professional pet care skills, and a home environment designed around each dog’s individual needs. I have about 5 years of experience caring for dogs, including dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I pay close attention to body language, comfort level, and interactions so I can recognize when a dog is relaxed, overwhelmed, or needs more personal space. Pet care is my full-time focus, and I’m both pet CPR certified and a certified groomer. This allows me to provide attentive daily care while also helping with brushing, bathing, coat care, and general cleanliness when requested. My home has a private backyard of approximately 900 square feet for supervised outdoor play and potty breaks, along with additional rooms that allow me to separate dogs based on size, temperament, energy level, or individual comfort needs. I understand that every dog has a different routine, so I do my best to accommodate feeding schedules, sleeping preferences, sensitivities, and other special instructions from parents. I also send frequent photo and video updates throughout each stay. My goal is not only to make every dog feel safe, comfortable, and cared for, but also to give parents real peace of mind while they are away. Caring for dogs is a major part of my daily life and my full-time focus. Because I have a flexible schedule, I’m able to provide consistent supervision, regular potty breaks, outdoor play, feeding, rest time, and plenty of individual attention throughout the day. I genuinely enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality and adjusting their routine so they can feel safe, comfortable, and at home during their stay. I’m pet CPR certified and also a certified groomer, so I’m comfortable providing basic coat care, brushing, bathing, and grooming services when requested. For longer boarding stays, I’m happy to include a complimentary basic bath when appropriate. For shorter stays, bathing or grooming services can be added for an additional fee. My priority is always to provide attentive, reliable, and personalized care for every dog staying with me. I live in a clean and well-kept home with a private backyard of approximately 900 square feet, giving dogs plenty of space for supervised outdoor play, potty breaks, and fresh air throughout the day. I also have additional rooms available, which allows me to separate dogs by size, energy level, or comfort needs when necessary. This helps each dog have a safe and quiet place to rest, settle in, and decompress without feeling overwhelmed. I have a 3-year-old Border Collie who is very sweet, gentle, and full of positive energy. He has done very well with other dogs and enjoys spending time and playing with them. I carefully supervise all interactions and introduce dogs gradually, while paying close attention to their body language, personality, and comfort level. I never force dogs to interact if they need more time or personal space. Throughout the day, I provide regular potty breaks, supervised backyard time, playtime, and plenty of opportunities to relax comfortably indoors. I also try to follow each dog’s normal feeding, sleeping, and daily routine as closely as possible. Sleeping arrangements can be flexible based on the owner’s preference and the dog’s needs. For dogs who are more sensitive or feel more secure near people, I can arrange for them to sleep in the same room with me. After outdoor time, I clean the dogs’ paws to help keep them comfortable and maintain a clean living environment. I also pay attention to brushing and overall cleanliness throughout their stay. My goal is to provide a safe, structured, and welcoming home where every dog receives individualized care and owners can feel confident while they are away.
“To say that Kessy went above and beyond would be an understatement. She took such amazing care of Chutney while we were out of town. He had some tummy issues during his stay and she was extremely attentive, informative, and pleasant throughout, even though she got more than she bargained for. Kessy clearly loves dogs and it was a comfort to know that Chutney was I'm such good hands.”

“So glad we found Emily and Alan to take care of our pup. They are not only professional, but your pup will get personal attention and be in a loving environment. They were quick to respond and sent lots of photos and video update throughout the day. We were also happy that our pup was able to play and socialize with a few other dogs. When we picked him up at the end of the day, we could tell he had a good day and was happy. We look forward to having Emily and Alan host our pup again!”

“Christian was super responsive and available to a last minute request to care for my Lupita, who immediately connected with him. Christian took great care of Lupita, provided updates and pictures, and welcomed her to a complete home. Highly recommend him!”

“I am so thankful Charlie was available for a last minute booking/ boarding for our dog, Bibi. After communicating our needs, we knew Charlie was a great fit. Our dog felt right at home, and Charlie communicated frequently throughout her time there, including sending picture and video updates unprompted. We would love the opportunity to re-book with Charlie in the future.”

“Adam was great! It was the first time we were away from our puppy over night and we were very nervous. He took great care of her and sent us videos everyday! Will definitely use him again:)”

“Anastasia was able to take care of Bella last minute. Bella enjoyed her stay and Anastasia fixed her favorite toy too. I highly recommend booking with her.”

“We left our 18 month old Lhasa Apso with Ana and Manuel for a full week. Needless to say, I was like a nervous mama. However, from the moment we started corresponding, Ana made me feel at ease with my decision. She truly made me feel like our Violet was part of the family and she would be well taken care of. Turns out it was a great decision- Violet was loved and well cared for with Ana and Manuel. Each day we got pictures and corresponded with Ana. This made us feel so much better about leaving Violet for a week. When we picked her up, she was content and happy. I could not have asked for a better experience! As any doggie mama knows, it’s the best feeling knowing your baby is in good hands. This is what Ana and Manuel do so well!”

“Diana is a true blessing! My dog Loretta has very very bad anxiety and separation anxiety. But Loretta is my baby! I love her and treat her like one of my children. Diana was WONDERFUL with her. She was with her 5 days and kept me up to date with everything. Pictures and everything. She gave me the biggest peace of mind. She made my vacation so enjoyable knowing my girlie was in the BEST hands! I would recommend Diana to anyone who wants their dog to be well taken care of and loved. Thank you Diana for loving my Loretta and treating her the way we do.”

“Thank You Alan! Yuki and I are so happy with your services. We will recommend you to all our friends! Thanks for the Pictures and the Video on my email, it was really great, i know it was extra work, Thanks A lot!”

“Ashley was so amazing - she went above and beyond to make sure my dogs were cared for (especially when my little pup was having stomach issues unexpectedly). Nothing phased her and she was super communicative along the way. Can’t recommend her enough. Trust her 100%!”

“Matheus was amazing at watching our two dogs. He was constantly sending updates and photos, knew what they needed, and gave them their own little vacation! I am already planning on booking with him again and would trust him with my dogs anytime.”

“Michelle is lovely and our dog was so happy to be with her for a week! We really appreciated that she was able to work from home so our dog wasn’t alone for too long. Michelle sent photos and updates daily. I would definitely book with her again.”

I booked Henly last minute for boarding and was reliable from the very start of communication. She communicates so well and has a very welcoming personality that makes you feel like your furry one will be in great hands. Throughout his stay, she made Leo feel so loved, and allowed him to explore different park and animal friendly areas. She provided updates, lots of amazing, cutesy photos and notified us of any places she was taking him which we really appreciate. We are so thankful for her care, and will keep her in mind for future care if needed.

Zach watched our dog for a week after a bit of a last-minute request, and we are so lucky he did. From the first meet-up he asked all the right questions, showed so much care for our dog, and was great with communication. Our dog had a great week with him and we appreciated Zach’s photos and updates. Will definitely be using him again.
This was my first time using Rover and I absolutely loved it. Denis B was so kind and very attentive to my Milo, I received daily photos and updates while I was away. It warmed my heart to know someone else will be so loving towards my cat. I highly recommend using Rover. Definitely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ to Denis B. Thank you again.

Athena took such good care of our very active Italian Greyhound. He was comfortable around her from the beginning. She took him for 3 walks daily and sent us messages and pictures often. I felt very much at ease. When it was time to pick him up, he was walked, fed and bathed. Will definitely book with Athena again.
Ronald took excellent care of my dog for the full week I was out of town. Super attentive to all my instructions, and sent photos/videos throughout each day - my dog looked happy and relaxed in every one. You could tell a real bond formed between them by the end of the week. Highly recommend, and thank you for taking such good care of her!

This was my first time having Lulu stay for two weeks and with Gaby. I had read all the great reviews and scheduled a meet and greet prior to. I’m glad we booked with Gaby and her husband. She’s such a sweetheart with pets and caring to their personalities. I could tell Lulu was taken care of and made new friends along the way 💕.

I can’t recommend Gustavo enough! He took such amazing care of my dog and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. It was clear from the updates and photos that my dog was loved, happy, and treated like part of their family. He went above and beyond to make sure my dog was comfortable and well cared for. Knowing my dog was in such caring hands made all the difference. I’m so grateful for his kindness, professionalism, and genuine love for animals. I will definitely be booking with him again!

Sarah is the absolute best—she went above and beyond for me and my Evie. She sent me photos and videos every single day, treated my baby to a bowl of tuna juice every evening, and was so kind and accommodating. I felt at ease going away because I knew, from the moment I met Sarah, that my girl was in good hands. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Dennis and Jule took amazing care of our two Boston Terrier girls and kept us updated with lots of photos, videos, and messages. It was obvious our dogs were having a great time. Communication was fantastic, everything went smoothly, and we had zero worries while we were away. They have our highest recommendation!

Emily amd her husband are fantastic! They watched my last dog (who sadly passed away a few years ago) and were fantastic with him in the past. My wife and I were taking our 2 son's on vacation for 8 days, last minute the person we had scheduled to watch our new dog backed out. I immediately reached out to Emily, she was super accommodating and accepted the last minute booking. She completely saved the day! The entire experience was seemless and easy, i was comfortable and cinfident from the start. Every day, multiple times a day, I got photo and video updates of our dog. I can't say enough good things about my experience, I HIGHLY recommend considering Emily to watch your pet for you. 11/10! Thank you Emily!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
