“They are THE best!!! I can tell how much dog loves to stay with them and he had so much fun! I will recommend them to all dog parents and they truly care about dogs! Thank you so much Luzia and Laura! I will definitely come back to you! Great job! ;)”

“Sherry and Walter were absolutely amazing! This was the first time we had ever left our cat, Romeo, with anyone, and from the very beginning they made us feel completely at ease knowing our baby was in such good hands. Romeo warmed up to them right away and quickly felt right at home, which was such a huge relief for us. They watched him for 15 days while we were away on our honeymoon and sent us daily updates, which we really appreciated. Romeo is extremely social and loves attention, and Sherry and Walter gave him plenty of love and affection throughout his stay. We are so grateful to have found them and will absolutely be reaching out again the next time we go away. We couldn’t recommend Sherry and Walter more highly to anyone looking for loving, trustworthy care for their fur babies!”

“Ashley was so amazing - she went above and beyond to make sure my dogs were cared for (especially when my little pup was having stomach issues unexpectedly). Nothing phased her and she was super communicative along the way. Can’t recommend her enough. Trust her 100%!”

“Aleksandr was a fantastic sitter for my two pups. He was easy to work with, communicative, and took great care of my dogs. Also - he is a fantastic photographer and took some amazing shots of the pups!”

“Kiersten & Casey really are the best sitters!! I am always at ease whenever Nalu stays with them, they do such a great job at always keeping me updated with lots of pictures!”

“Lal took great care of my senior shih Tzu Oliver. She sent lots of pictures and videos throughout his stay and was always very responsive when I needed to contact her”

“Tony and Sofiya were amazing with Bonnie! This was my first time leaving her with anyone outside of family, and they made me feel completely at ease with multiple daily updates, pictures, and great communication. They gave Bonnie so much love and attention and even took her to a doggie party. It was clear she had an incredible time and was treated like one of their own. I could not recommend them more highly and would absolutely trust them with Bonnie again. I think she was a little disappointed to come home 😄🐾❤️”

“Michelle did a wonderful job taking care of our doggo while we were away with plenty of pictures and texts. Our dog loved her stay with Michelle. We would definitely book her again for further accommodations!”

“Jasmil was AMAZING with our dog, Papa. She watched him for over a week and took the most amazing care of him. We felt Papa was so safe and cared for while with Jasmil and her family. Papa can be a high needs dog with medications and behavioral quirks but Jasmil was truly an angel with him!”

“Joshua is a great dog sitter! He was very accommodating with our drop-off and pick-up times, and took great care of our dog. We'd definitely book with him again!”

“Renald is so polite, caring, and attentive. Renald really enjoys boarding dogs it’s in his genes. My dog looked in great shape when I picked him up, and he even said good-bye to Renald with a wagging tail..it was so sweet! I will definitely be booking Renald services for boarding in the future.”
“Bridget was great. Took excellent care of Bella. We were very nervous and worried, but things worked out great. Process was smooth and no complaints.”

“Ryan was so kind and attentive to Poppy!! I had issues with my travel and ended up being away longer than I was supposed to and he cooked food for her!”

“Sayarlin was soo accommodating while watching my dog Dream! Even when I had to extend the pick up dates she was still willing to help out as best as she could. She even took Dream to the park to play which i'm sure she enjoyed. I will definitely use her to watch Dream in the future.”

“Jelfri is amazing! He watched my dog Jack for a week and was perfect. Great communication, and he even went out of his way to get him his exact food when he was running out. Would absolutely recommend”

“Adam was great with my cat, Griffin. It was obvious my cat was very happy and well taken care of. I wish that I knew Adam booked multiple animals - both dogs and cats - in his home at a time. That said, the dog he owns, Hermes, is awesome and super friendly; Griffin and Hermes were immediately friends. Adam was also very responsive. Will definitely book with Adam again!”

“I LOVE that we found Nicolas and his family. His step dad Ricardo went above and beyond for our very senior dog (he’s 19!). From administering medications, helping him walk around to help with his arthritis, to waking up at all odd hours of the night to help him pee! Our dog accidentally peed on his sleep bed and they even took it to the laundromat to get cleaned for him. Taking care of a senior dog is tough, especially one with dementia and odd day/night sleep habits. They are DREAM sitters, always sending us videos and communicating with us while we were gone. This was our first experience having a sitter for our dog and they helped with all of our anxiety about leaving him with another family! Would recommend them to an any pet owner looking for a sitter, we are so grateful.”

“Liming took such wonderful care of our cats, Tiwdew and Shiny, while we were away on a trip. She was communicative throughout, sending updates and photos that put our minds at ease every step of the way. Both cats were happy, healthy, and clearly well looked after when we got home -you could tell they’d been given real attention and care, not just the basics. Liming is reliable, trustworthy and genuinely loves animals. We’d book with her again and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring pet sitter!”

“Anastasia is amazing. She was extremely accommodating, provided regular updates, and truly cares for your pet like her own. It made for an anxiety free vacation knowing my pup was so well taken care of. Anastasia will be our ONLY choice when we need a puppy sitter in the future.”

We have a very happy pup! Sarah was communicative and sent plenty of pics. Our dog got so much exercise (we can see it through her Tractive app) and came back very happy. She took such good care of her and her baby was so good with her. We will definitely have her watch our dog again.

Jun our cat sitter was very nice. He took care of Dior and the cat gets comfortable very quickly. His place have so much cat access area that cats can sleep and move around. He gives updates everyday with messages, pictures and videos. I highly recommend Jun. He is very good cat sitter. Dior stayed for 18 days.

Second stay with Annie and once again, exceptional service! Communication was excellent, all instructions were followed perfectly, and our dog was extremely well cared for. Having a reliable, trustworthy sitter gives us complete peace of mind while away. Highly recommend!

Jessica was wonderful with Chai! She kept us updated every day with messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear from the updates that Chai was comfortable, happy, and having such a great time with Jessica and Luna. We really appreciated how well she cared for him and treated him like part of the family. We would absolutely trust Jessica with Chai again and highly recommend her! ❤️🐾

Mason and Benji had an awesome time!! They got along well with Melo. Nick and his wife took great care of them, kept us updated, and included photos. The pups reallyyy enjoyed the grass in the backyard (especially Benji) lol. I would definitely recommend Nick to take care of your pets!

They take the absolute best care of my dog Bowie, I trust them with my life. They’ve watched her probably around 10 times in the last 6-7 months and everytime I get my dog back, she’s happy. No greater feeling that knowing your dog is getting great care while you are out of town.

Liming was wonderful! She took such great care of our dog and kept us updated with lots of pictures throughout the entire stay. She was incredibly responsive and always quick to reply whenever we had questions. We felt completely at ease knowing our dog was in such caring and capable hands. We would highly recommend Liming to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable pet sitter!

Kelly and her husband took terrific care of our dog boarding her for 3 nights and 4 days. Kelly was very responsive prior to booking - she welcomed us with a pre-home visit and a chance to meet her and her husband and see how our dog interacted with them and responded promptly to questions. She was the same way during her care of our dog sending pictures and updates on how our dog was doing. She and her husband also have a very kind and calm demeanor. We are grateful for their care of our dog!

This was my third time leaving Sandwich with Omar, and Sandwich appears to have grown very comfortable with him and his partner. They’re both always excited to welcome Sandwich into their home, which is like a second home for my dog. I can be at ease while on vacation knowing that Sandwich is being taken care of and snuggled! ❤️ Sandwich can’t wait for his next stay!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
