“Tony and Sofiya were amazing with Bonnie! This was my first time leaving her with anyone outside of family, and they made me feel completely at ease with multiple daily updates, pictures, and great communication. They gave Bonnie so much love and attention and even took her to a doggie party. It was clear she had an incredible time and was treated like one of their own. I could not recommend them more highly and would absolutely trust them with Bonnie again. I think she was a little disappointed to come home 😄🐾❤️”

“Milly was so kind as to take our pup for a last minute request and he had a great time! She was well prepared to handle his separation anxiety and gave him some yummy natural treats as well. We will definitely be booking again.”

“Ilona was Great with Glitter! She took us last minute after another sitter cancel. Glitter had a lot of fun and made a lot of new. Friends. Ilona knows her stuff how to introduce her and get comfortable. I'm super happy with her service and will highly recommend.”

“Ethel is incredibly kind and handled our very large and high energy dog with ease. She provided consistent updates accompanied by photos and videos of our dog playing and having the time of his life. Our dog got so much exercise with Ethel and her golden, and was dropped off happy and exhausted. Would recommend her to anyone!”

“Kristin was amazing and accommodating. Tommy was welcomed and looked to be very comfortable in her care. I appreciated the daily updates with photos and/or videos, and even was able to see how Tommy would fair with another cat.”

“Sabrina is incredible and took special care of my dog. She keeps in constant contact with photos and videos. This was my first time using Rover and I will definitely book with Sabrina again. 10/10 fully recommend her!”

“Denis was absolutely wonderful with my energetic orange boy cat! He was great at communicating every day and noting anything in terms of behavior which helped make me feel calm during the early days. Not entirely sure who’s vacation was better 🐈🤍 Would highly recommend him and will definitely be rebooking in the future!”

“Awesome! I booked Gustavo last minute very late for an overnight stay & he was very responsive and accommodating. He sent pics/vids of my baby & she came back happy. Would definitely book again.”

“Last minute booking and I’m so happy they were able to take care of my baby boy! Thank you so much taking him in, keeping him safe and happy. If I could give you 10 stars I would. Thank you again”

“Eleanor was very accommodating with a rather last minute boarding request. Gabbie loved her stay! Would definitely recommend, she was very attentive to my dog’s needs.”

“Marina and co. I had such a wonderful experience boarding my 11-year-old baby boy Golden Retriever. Leaving an older dog can always make you a little anxious, but they made the entire process incredibly reassuring and easy. My boy is very laid-back and just needs his walks, meals, and a calm environment, and they took such thoughtful care to make sure he was comfortable and relaxed. It was clear he was treated with genuine kindness and patience. More importantly, I really appreciated the updates and the peace of mind knowing he was in such caring hands. I would absolutely board with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate dog sitter.”

“Alanis and Marco are by far the best dog sitters I have come across on the Rover app. Gigi and I absolutely love them and I will only use them anytime I have to leave Gigi.”

“We had great communication with Shirley throughout the entire process. We did a meet and greet before the stay, and she asked thoughtful questions beforehand to really get to know our dog. During the stay, she shared lots of photos and videos, which we truly appreciated. She was also very flexible and accommodating when we had to change our plans due to the snowstorm. Highly recommend!”

“This was the second time my Noodles spent time with John. He came home super calm, happy and tired which is so unusual for this energetic puppy. Thank you so much!”

“Kadeem was an amazing host for Bruno. He was extremely communicative and even let me book a few extra days last minute. He sent photos and checked in all through the week. Truly a genuine soul with a huge heart. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking. 10 stars! 😌✨”

“Angela is great! She kept me updated every day with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. I always get a little nervous leaving Lizzie with a sitter because she can be anxious around new people and places. But after four days with Angela, Lizzie was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. When I picked her up, she even tried to follow Angela back into her building! I would absolutely trust Angela with Lizzie again and highly recommend her.”

“Roman was incredible. He sent us daily pictures and videos and was very communicative. He took such great care of Luna for 2 weeks, taking her for long walks in the park. We will absolutely work with him again.”

“Adriana is absolutely the best! My 12 year old chihuahua, Trudy, has never spent a night away from me. I needed someone to take care of her for three nights and she can be quite any around strangers. But it could not have gone better. Adriana sent me pictures a number of times each day. I could see how happy and relaxed Trudy was. I am so happy. I will definitely use her again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - College Point
Rover got me in touch with Grace when my original sitter cancelled at the last moment almost putting our vacation in Jeopardy. So luckily Grace was available. She consistently updated me with pictures, showing me how my 2 cats were doing so I know that they were in good hands . The Rover booking process was straightforward, and I would consider booking again in the future if possible. Thank you for everything 🐱

She’s very sweet and kind. A little bit of a miscommunication between us but was handled extremely professionally. My dog was nervous on the first day and acting out of the normal. She communicated well with me and was super understanding. Nala was in great hands and I’d definitely leave her under her care again ☺️

Dan and her partner were the best sitters we’ve ever had! We have a very sweet but very anxious girl who still gets nervous around new people so we really appreciated how patient and kind they were with Chloe from the very beginning. They let her open up slowly on her own time and by the end of her stay it was so evident how much she had grown to love them. They also kept us constantly updated with lots of photos and videos of Chloe which we loved seeing on our trip as we were missing her so much. Would recommend Dan and her partner to everyone!

Athena was a great sitter. I needed a last minute booking and she, with no hesitation picked up and responded to all my questions and requests. Athena updated me throughout her whole booking and was constantly and consistently sending me photos and videos of Ziggy. But her expertise didnt end at the end of the booking. She evn gave me great advice and pointers to help me with my new puppy. I will definitely recommend Athena.

I am grateful to Susan C. for taking good care of my puggle Remy. Susan was very responsive to any of my concerns, thus giving me peace of mind! Susan was generous in providing lots of photos for me to enjoy while being separated from Remy. I would definately use her again!
I was away on a 7 days trip and left my Mocha, Coco and Benji in Angelica’s care. I couldn’t be more grateful! She not only looked after them with such love and attention, but also sent me so many wonderful photos—each one looked like it was taken by a professional pet photographer( I wish I can share them here with you)! 📸 The photos were full of life and personality, capturing Coco’s sass and Benji’s sweet, Mocha's curious face perfectly. Most importantly, I could tell they were truly well cared for and happy during their time with her. Thank you so much for everything you did—it meant a lot to me and was such a huge help. I felt at ease knowing they were in such good hands. Highly recommended to anyone looking for someone warm, reliable, and genuinely passionate about dogs! 🐾💕

Gustavo and his family are so attentive and took great care of my Maltipoo. He sent routine pics and videos of my pup which was so nice to see when I was traveling. His family members were also very kind and affectionate with my dog and I'm glad that he has another similar sized dog so my dog could play and socialize also. Definitely will book again!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
