“Anton was very kind and accommodating of my anxious dog. It was the very first boarding experience for my dog, Reiki, and he was very nervous when we arrived at Anton's place. I was worried that he would stay restless, but I was totally wrong! Anton sent me photos and updates, which made me feel safe asking more of his service again. Reiki was able to calm down within hours under his care, and very much enjoyed spending time with him 😄.”

“Euitae is very professional and flexible. Vito looked well taken care of and seemed right at home with Euitae and Winston. I’m glad Vito has new friends in the neighborhood!”

“Noelle was a fantastic caretaker for our dog, Dodger. She helped out last minute, watching him for the weekend. He usually gets a little stressed after car rides and being left with strangers but he warmed up easily. Noelle sent great pictures and updates during the weekend and we will definitely be reaching out to her again!”

“Glory was an awesome sitter. She was extremely communicative and always sent me updates about my Shayna. I felt at peace while I was on vacation while my fur-baby was in her hands. She even took the time to bathe her at the end of her stay. I would highly recommend Glory as a pet-sitter.”
“Lal is an amazing sitter! She is always so accommodating and makes sure my dog Margot is well taken care of. She sends plenty of updates, which gives me great peace of mind while I’m away. She’s incredibly responsive, responsible, and clearly cares for the pets she watches. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!”

“Sabrina is incredible and took special care of my dog. She keeps in constant contact with photos and videos. This was my first time using Rover and I will definitely book with Sabrina again. 10/10 fully recommend her!”

“She couldn’t have made this process any easier for me! She was very accommodating and super loving/caring through the whole process. 100% would book with here again.”

“Angie did a wonderful job taking care of our 5 1/2 month old puppy while we were overseas for 2 weeks. Of course we were hesitant to leave Marley our goldendoodle pup with a "virtual" stranger but Angie reassured us by communicating daily via texts and photos that all was well. Communication was easy. Marley clearly enjoyed his visits to various parks and Angie's caring and calm demeanor. I recommend Angie as a dog sitter, walker, etc.”

“Eva is such a warm, thoughtful dog sitter. She texts with any questions and my dogs felt right at home with her. She is great about taking them for walks in Central Park and sending great pics. She truly loves dogs and we will definitely be using her again!”

“Pop had the greatest time with Margarita and Cristian! We appreciated the frequent updates and how attentive they were to his schedule. We will definitely be back!”

“Ryan and Jefra were the sweetest. They took really good care of my boys and constantly sent a lot of pictures. They were flexible and communicative. I recommend them for sure!”

“I cannot recommend Ethel and her daughter enough! They take the absolute best care of my dog, Stevie, and treat her like one of their own. From the moment I drop her off, I know she is in loving, trustworthy hands. One of my favorite things is how many pictures and updates they send throughout her stay. It gives me so much peace of mind to see Stevie happy, comfortable, and having a great time. You can truly tell how much they love and care for the pets they watch. Finding someone you completely trust with your fur baby is priceless, and that’s exactly what I found with Ethel. I never have to worry when Stevie is with her. She goes above and beyond every single time, and I honestly wouldn’t leave Stevie with anyone else. If you’re looking for someone who will love and care for your four-legged family member as much as you do, look no further—Ethel is simply the best!”

“Michaela treated my pup with so much care. Dewey stayed with her and Kip for 5 days and we received frequent updates. Dewey loved her time boarding with Michaela!”

“Allison is amazing! She sent me lots of videos and updates throughout my trip in EU. I did not have good signal so it was nice to recieve the ipdates as soon as I got it without me having to ask. She is very knowledgeable of dog dynamics and was able to work around ny dog’s triggers. She managed to get ny dog accepted in the pack as well as him accepting them. My dog was very happy and comfortable during his stay. Thank you Allison.”

Auredy was absolutely amazing! She took such great care of Kemba and kept me updated throughout the stay with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. My booking was very last minute, and she was still able to accommodate us without any issues. Knowing Kemba was in such caring hands made all the difference. I highly recommend Auredy to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and attentive dog sitter. She is truly the best!
I had a wonderful experience with Shaun. He took such great care of our dog, keeping us updated with photos and messages, which gave us a real peace of mind while we were away. I am so thankful for the love and care he showed our dog. He was very dependable, thoughtful, and made the whole experience stress free. I would gladly recommend Shaun to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter!

Kamryn is great, so sweet! I left my pup for the first time with her for six days. She sent daily updates and pictures first thing in the morning and also at night. Responses to my messages were always fast. I highly recommend booking with her, I will definitely book with her again!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sayarlin was absolutely amazing with my baby, Onyx! I was so nervous because I had never left my dog with anyone before, but she immediately reassured me that Onyx would be okay—and she was! Not only did Onyx come home happy and relaxed, but her behavior was even better than when I dropped her off. It was clear that Sayarlin was patient, caring, and treated Onyx like one of her own. I would 100% book with Sayarlin again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their pet. Thank you again for taking such great care of my baby, Onyx!

Sarah was just the most fantastic dog sitter ever! My husband and I left our two dogs with her during our summer vacation for over two weeks. Sarah took them out everyday and kept us updated of their progress with photos and videos. They looked wonderful upon on our return. I cannot recommend her enough!

Giselle, was great! Highly recommend, and will for sure repeat booking in the future. Giselle was extremely prompt and responsive when coordinating a meet and greet/ pick up and drop off. She sent lots of photos, videos and text updates about our pup while we were away for several days. She has and amazing calm and positive energy...truly felt like our fur baby was in good hands.

Lizmarie did a good job looking after my two dogs. I was extremely nervous using this service for the first time especially when you hear horror stories of people mistreating and neglecting your pets. She was very communicative. I would consider using her again to pet sit.

Essence is the best! I know my dogs are in great hands with her. She is always flexible with us, she sends us updates without us having to ask, my dogs are always happy when they leave her place. She is the best and I am so grateful for her. Xoxo thank you Essence.

Mya took great care of our dog Abby while we were on vacation! She was very easy to coordinate pick up and drop off with and flexible when I was delayed in for over an hour. Abby really seemed to like Mya and we will certainly hire her again as a sitter next time we leave town.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
