This was my first time using this service, and I was very impressed. She sent me frequent updates with photos and messages about my dog’s condition throughout the day, which made me feel comfortable and reassured. It was a reliable and trustworthy experience, and I will definitely use her service again if I have the chance!

I booked Steve after a communication issue with the previously booked sitter very close to the holiday. It was a little nervewracking because he's new to the platform, but Steve was great with Sammy! When I dropped Sam off, he asked a lot of questions about his routines and behaviors and you can tell that he really cares about your dog's experience. He was good about sending pictures and details throughout our trip about how Sam was doing. He was even able to get Sam to play fetch a bit, which he never does! Dropoff and pickup were easy to coordinate. Even when we returned a bit later than anticipated, Steve was easy going about it. I picked up a very happy, rested pup! I'll definitely be using Steve again!

Brayhana was AMAZING!!! I was so scared because this was my first time leaving my dogs with someone they have never met . But she made me and my two pups feel super comfortable from the very beginning. Her apart was spacious and perfect for housing animals . She kept me updated with videos and pictures and I can tell they were having the time of their lives with her . Her communication was great. She showed my puppies so much love and kindness. She kept th on a routine and took their needs very seriously. I feel comfortable with leaving my pups with her and I will be booking again because they are definitely friends now ?.

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since being a child. What sets me apart from other sitters is my motivation and love for the caring of animals. I’m currently only in college taking only a few classes, so I’ll have lots of time to play and walk with your pup! I live in an apartment, but live right next to the infamous Crotona Park, so your pup will always have a fun, big, and interesting park to walk in when they’re staying with me.

Naomi is absolutely AMAZING!!!! If you have any worries about leaving your fur baby with someone new, you can rest easy with her. I trusted my 16-year-old pup in her care, and she kept me updated every single day with photos, videos, and sweet messages. I never once had to worry. In fact, when we left, he cried in the car because he already missed her! I’m beyond grateful to have found Naomi and would recommend her to anyone looking for a loving, trustworthy pet caregiver—she’s truly worth it!

She kept us updated with pictures and videos so we never had to wonder if our boy was doing well. We've already booked our annual vacation stay for Kobe and feel fortunate to have found the perfect sitter! With access to a backyard, Kobe had all the comforts of home. We can't say enough good things about Veronica.

I had the pleasure of meeting Sujaya at a meet and greet prior to booking a boarding reservation. I am glad I did. She was so lovely at the meet and greet and when I left my pup with her, it was a great decision. Sujaya was so attentive and accommodating to anything my pup needed and was extremely responsive to any questions I had. This particular boarding was because I had a family wedding to attend and I felt immediately at ease that my pup was in good hands. It was obvious that Sujaya is a natural caretaker and really went above and beyond to take care of my girl. I think my pup (Irene) did well for her first time with a new person and Sujaya was alert to her needs and wants during the stay. I will definitely book Sujaya again!! Thank you Sujaya!!

Anny is an absolute gem. She watched our Maltese, Lila, and she is extremely loving and caring. She doesn’t even have her own animals, yet her home is set up like a five-star resort for any pet who walks through her door. Gorgeous beds, little houses, toys everywhere, treats ready to go. If a dog or cat could design their dream home, it would look exactly like Anny’s. We’ve used many pet sitters over the years, but Anny is in a different league entirely. Lila actually hesitated to come home, which tells you everything you need to know. If you want your pet loved, spoiled, and treated like family, Anny is the one.

This was my first time leaving my baby with a pet sitter, so I was nervous. Juliet put me at ease the moment I met her. She is an amazing pet sitter, my dog got sick she believed it was from separation anxiety. She had to WhatsApp me being I was on a cruise. She explained everything and said she would watch him and if she didn’t see a change she would take him to the vet. She kept in constant contact with me and I felt better as the days went along. My dog did get better and I was happy for the attention she gave him. She sent me pictures of him. He scratched his ear where he has a wart that bleeds she cleaned it and gave him a bath, he smelled so good. When I picked up my dog I could see how relaxed he was with her as he was reaching for her. His behavior at home is even better than before he is calm so I know she really took care of him. I will recommend Juliet as well as continue to use her. I thank her for all she did and for playing our voice message to my dog which helped him also. She is a very caring and attentive pet sitter. Wish I could give her more stars ⭐️ .

We booked with Shawn for our dog, Shadow for one month. During that time Shawn sent us many updates and pictures of Shadow. Our dog had severe separation anxiety and fear of thunderstorms, but she very quickly adapted to him. He provided many updates and pictures during her stay, making a stressful situation very comforting for us to know she was comfortable and in good hands. I trust Shawn and would gladly use his services again and recommend him highly. Thank you Shawn!!

Soshi absolutely adored her stay with Matthew! He is highly communicative and sent pictures throughout her stay. I completely forgot dog poop bags and he had them at home. He also let me know that another dog might come by (family) and his breed and temperament and if I think they would be ok or should be separated. My dog is pretty easygoing, but I appreciated the extra steps Matthew took to make me feel at ease. My dog did NOT want to leave the next morning! It feels great to know there is someone reliable nearby to watch my pup. He also put on Bluey for her in the evening! 10/10 experience and will be back for sure.

Rover Review for Leon ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you're looking for someone to trust with your dogs, please read this. This isn't just another Rover review for us. For almost two years, my wife and I didn't take a single vacation. We used to travel six or seven times a year, but that all stopped after a tragedy changed our family forever. Our beloved 14-year-old Labrador Pit Bull mix, Cooper, stayed with a dog sitter we had trusted for nine years. Before we left, Cooper was happy, vibrant, and full of life. Aside from a little arthritis that comes with age, he was healthy. We had been playing with him before leaving for our five-day vacation, and there was absolutely nothing to suggest anything was wrong. When Cooper was dropped off at our home after we returned, we were told everything had gone great. The moment I took him out of the car, I knew something was terribly wrong. He could barely walk. We rushed Cooper to the veterinarian. Two days later, he deteriorated rapidly. We learned he had suffered a severe spinal injury, and on New Year's Eve we had to say goodbye to the glue of our family. Cooper wasn't just our dog. He was the heart of our home. He was the one who held everyone together. To this day, we'll never know exactly what happened because we were never given an explanation. That experience changed us forever. It left us with PTSD and a fear of ever leaving our dogs with anyone again. Anyone who truly loves a dog understands they aren't just pets. They're family. Losing Cooper devastated us, but it also devastated our chocolate Labrador, Chloe. She grieved his loss right alongside us. The house became quiet. The joy was gone. Almost a year later, after a lot of healing, we welcomed another chocolate Labrador into our family, Callie. Even then, we still couldn't bring ourselves to travel. The thought of leaving Chloe and Callie with anyone filled us with anxiety. Finding someone you can trust is one of the hardest things in the world. Everyone has great reviews. Everyone says the right things. But when your dogs are your family, reviews only go so far. Then we met Leon. From our very first meet and greet, something just felt different. I went by myself with Callie and Chloe so they could meet Leon. We spent a long time talking about dogs, life, and how he and his wife started Dog City. He shared stories about the dogs they've loved over the years, and you could immediately tell that caring for dogs wasn't simply a business to him. It was something he genuinely loved. Callie and Chloe immediately felt comfortable around him. Labs tend to love everyone, but I could tell they were relaxed, and that meant a lot to me. Even after that first meeting, I went home and thought about it for almost a month. That's how difficult this decision was. Finally, I told my wife, "I really want you to meet Leon. We have to get away. It's time." So we went back together for a second visit. She asked every question she wanted to ask, and Leon answered every one of them with patience, kindness, and understanding. We never told Leon what had happened to Cooper. We simply told him that our previous dog sitter had retired. He had no idea we were carrying almost two years of fear and heartbreak. Looking back now, I think that says even more about the kind of person he is. His compassion wasn't because he knew our story. It was simply who he is. A week later, we dropped Chloe and Callie off for a short four-day vacation—our first trip in almost two years. While we were away, Leon sent us pictures every single day. He stayed in touch throughout our trip, letting us know how our girls were doing and giving us something we hadn't felt in a very long time. Peace of mind. His home has a beautiful fenced backyard, but what impressed us the most wasn't the house. It was his heart. There is a huge difference between someone who watches dogs because it's a job and someone who genuinely loves them like family. Leon is that person. When we picked Chloe and Callie up, they were happy, healthy, relaxed, and obviously well cared for. Every toy, every dog bed, every leash, and every belonging we brought had been neatly packed and waiting for us. Leon greeted us with a huge smile and sincerely told us how happy he was that we had finally been able to get away and enjoy ourselves. That simple statement meant more than he'll probably ever know. Leon didn't just take care of our dogs. He gave us something we thought we had lost forever. He gave us back our trust. Leon may never realize it, but by simply being the caring, compassionate person he is, he helped us take the first step toward healing. Sometimes people change your life without ever knowing they did. If you're reading this because you're nervous about leaving your dog with someone, please know that I completely understand how you feel. I've lived through the nightmare every dog owner fears. That's why I can say this with complete confidence. I trust Leon with Callie and Chloe. For me, there is no greater compliment I could ever give another human being. Leon, thank you for treating our girls like they were your own. Thank you for your kindness, your patience, your communication, and, most importantly, your heart. Because of you, my wife and I were able to begin traveling again after almost two years. You didn't just take care of Callie and Chloe. You gave two people who had forgotten how to trust the confidence to start living again. We'll never forget that. Thank you, Leon. — Ralph & Vivian

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
