“Noelle was amazing! We felt Koda was in such good hands. She took the time to learn our pup’s routine — feeding, walks, everything — and really stuck to it. She kept us updated with cute photos and even checked in to see if certain things were normal for her, which I really appreciated. You can tell she genuinely cares. We’ll definitely be booking with Noelle again!”

“Euitae is very professional and flexible. Vito looked well taken care of and seemed right at home with Euitae and Winston. I’m glad Vito has new friends in the neighborhood!”

“I cannot recommend Ethel and her daughter enough! They take the absolute best care of my dog, Stevie, and treat her like one of their own. From the moment I drop her off, I know she is in loving, trustworthy hands. One of my favorite things is how many pictures and updates they send throughout her stay. It gives me so much peace of mind to see Stevie happy, comfortable, and having a great time. You can truly tell how much they love and care for the pets they watch. Finding someone you completely trust with your fur baby is priceless, and that’s exactly what I found with Ethel. I never have to worry when Stevie is with her. She goes above and beyond every single time, and I honestly wouldn’t leave Stevie with anyone else. If you’re looking for someone who will love and care for your four-legged family member as much as you do, look no further—Ethel is simply the best!”

“John is a great Rover while he watched Pisco for a couple of days. He responds quickly, and we enjoyed his daily pics on how Pisco is doing. Thank you!”

“Anupa was fantastic. She was very responsive. I'd get frequent updates, pictures, and videos of my pooch being walked and played with. I didn't have to worry that my dog was being taken care of; Anupa clearly was giving her all the time & care that she needed.”

“Sabrina was amazing with magnolia! I’ve had unfavorable Rover experiences in the past so planned ahead and did a meet and greet. I could tell instantly how warm and genuine she is- she even read up on the notes before that meeting. I felt super comfortable heading into our weekend away. During the weekend she gave several updates and was generous with photos/ videos all descriptive of magnolias characteristics. I knew Magnolia loved her stay with Sabrina when I picked her up and she kept looking back for her to walk away with us! I will absolutely book with her again whenever she’s free!”

“I was very with Chialing care for my baby Lola. She kept us updated. Send this pictures videos. Lola actually walked with no leash and they are run away so I’m happy with that. Her care her time and to keep up letting us know how everything was going was excellent. I would definitely definitely use her again to babysit my baby dog Lola. Thank you so much for your care and your love and your attention.”

“She contacted me everyday and told me the time she ate and send me pictures I felt very comfortable glory sitting my dog . The time I broung the dog she was already outside and when I picked up the dog she was downstairs also . my dog came back smelling very good btw 🤣. I’m definitely going to rebook with glory”

“Janise and her family took amazing care of my dog Faith! She suffers from some anxiety, but they were patient, brought out the best in her, and kept us updated frequently. Would definitely recommend!!”

“Jada was excellent taking care of my dog Coco. She kept sending me photos, Even though Coco made a mess on her bed, I’m so sorry about that, Jada. But if I go away again, I would definitely leave my dog Coco with Jada again. Thank you so much for everything!”

“We left our 7yo Havanese with Pamela, and we were very happy with the experience! Adelaide can become territorial, so we were worried how she would manage with Pamela's two dogs. Pamela felt comfortable playing referee, and we're told that the pups all settled into who-gets-which-space-on-the-couch pretty early on and things were smooth sailing after that. Thank you for a great stay, Pamela! And it's lovely to now know another person in the neighborhood!”

“My dog Sadie stayed with Jay for a week while I was away, and he was awesome! Very communicative and sent plenty of pictures and updates. It looked like Sadie had the best time and I would definitely use Jay again.”

“My Maple is a repeat guest. This week, she was very excited to be dropped off at Marlene's, and a little sad when it was time to pick her up. Next time I'm expecting that Maple will refuse to come home. But we will keep boarding with Marlene anyway, because she is incredibly kind and takes such amazing care of my high-maintenance pup.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can’t say enough good things about our dog sitter. She watched my dog for a full week and took excellent care of him. My dog is elderly and has a luxating patella in his back knee, and she was very attentive to his needs and limitations. She handled him carefully, made sure he was comfortable, and truly paid attention to his health. She kept us updated throughout the entire stay, which gave us so much peace of mind. When we picked him up, he was happy, calm, and clearly very well taken care of. On top of that, she even washed him the day before pickup, so he came home freshly cleaned, which was such a thoughtful touch. You can tell she genuinely cares about animals. I would 100% trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible, loving dog sitter.”

“Kadeem was an amazing host for Bruno. He was extremely communicative and even let me book a few extra days last minute. He sent photos and checked in all through the week. Truly a genuine soul with a huge heart. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking. 10 stars! 😌✨”

“Laudianny was the perfect sitter for my most precious possession Ted! She provided daily updates and it seemed like he got comfortable quickly. Within a day he was making biscuits with her so i know he was well cared for!”

“I had a last-minute work trip come up and Alanis and Marco were able to step in without any hassle. They were really flexible and made everything easy on my end. I got consistent updates while I was away, which helped a lot since I hate being out of the loop with my dog. This is my second time booking with them and both experiences have been smooth and reliable. I’d definitely book again!”

“Anton was very kind and accommodating of my anxious dog. It was the very first boarding experience for my dog, Reiki, and he was very nervous when we arrived at Anton's place. I was worried that he would stay restless, but I was totally wrong! Anton sent me photos and updates, which made me feel safe asking more of his service again. Reiki was able to calm down within hours under his care, and very much enjoyed spending time with him 😄.”

Alexandria has been amazing! Not only did she take her time to get to know me and my pup Nenya on our meet and greet but was also super communicative and caring once we booked with her. It truly felt like a good friend of mine is taking care of my pup. She took amazing care of our little shy girl and we could tell that Nenya had a great time when we picked her up. Her own dog Leo is also such a sweetheart and cuddle bug which made me even more relieved to know that she had a great animal companion to spend time with. Alexandria is reliable, caring and has a big heart for animals - we will definitely book with her again!

Sayarlin was an amazing sitter for my dog Storm and my cat Jelly Bean. Not only did she take wonderful care for them by creating a cozy space that feels like home, but she provided reassurance through daily updates while I was away. She is an effective communicator and responds swiftly. The pets loved staying with her, too. I will definitely be keeping her in mind for future boarding!

Finding Mariana was such a blessing. I could tell from the moment I met her that I made the right choice. She is so kind, gives tons of daily updates, and even came and picked up and dropped off Parker from my house. I will definitely be calling her again to watch Parker!

Jada is very nice by taking care of my dog Charlie at the last minute on 4th of July and a few more days, very communicative, patience and kept me updated with pictures and messages every time I requested them , price is very reasonable, thank you Jada for all you patience good work and help, I appreciate your business, definitely booking again. ,

Binta could NOT have been better. Igot wonderful pictures of my dog, looking comfortable and content. My "pup" is 9 years old and has not ever been away from me for more than 1 day. A bond was instantly formed. I felt very comfortable leaving Perdita with Binta. It was perfect.

Anna was amazing! We needed last minute care for our dog Dominic for our long stay, and she was responsive and very accommodating. During the stay, she sent tons of photos, videos, and updates (including raising a potential longer term medical issue we should look into, and even doing some research of her own into it). It was clear Dominic loved her, and she took incredible care of him even letting him cuddle in bed with her, his favorite activity. I can’t recommend Anna enough!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
