About: I have had dogs and cats for over 30 years and they have been a huge part of my family. I am a lifelong lover of all animals and care for all of them. I no longer have my dog so I welcome the opportunity to spend time with others. I am a nutritionist and I work from home and have flexible hours. One of the parks has a very large field as well as access to trails in the woods making this an ideal neighborhood for dogs.
About: For about four years, I cared for Rashmi, a sweet dog who truly became part of the family. She loved car rides and would always run excitedly to the car whenever we were going somewhere. Whenever her family knew she’d be alone, we’d spend time with her to keep her company and make sure she was happy and doing well. She was such a special furry friend to care for, and even though she lives farther I still love getting updates about her! I work from home, so my schedule is fairly flexible. I’m comfortable with overnight stays and boarding in my home as well. I always make sure to ask the owner about any special instructions, routines, dietary needs, or medications before caring for their pet so I can properly accommodate their needs. In my home, I make sure anything that could be harmful or unsafe is kept out of reach and that they have a comfortable, welcoming environment. I also like to learn their favorite treats, toys, and routines so they can feel as comfortable as possible. While caring for them, I pay attention to their behavior, eating, drinking, and bathroom habits. If I notice anything unusual or concerning, I make sure to communicate it to the owner right away. My goal is for every pet to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while they’re with me.
“James was an amazing sitter for my pup Nala! He's extremely communicative and clearly a confident, attentive caretaker. He asked great questions ahead of time, put me at ease before I left, and followed Nala's routine and eye ointment instructions perfectly the whole stay. James sent constant photos and videos, and it was obvious how closely he was paying attention to her. He told me Nala would make a great therapy dog given how sweet and tolerant she is with every person she meets, and by day three he'd noticed she likes to stop and sniff parked cars on walks, which is such a specific, subtle thing that I don't think anyone but me had ever picked up on before. He took her on walks constantly (her favorite thing) and let her lead the way and explore. He was incredibly easy to coordinate with from start to finish, and I could tell he genuinely enjoyed his time with her. I'll definitely be booking James again next time I need someone to watch Nala.”
