“Stephanie was absolutely the best, we loved her calm energy. Rolex felt right at home with her and Toby. She communicated often with pics and updates and we loved that. 10/10 experience and highly recommend. We’ll be back!”

“We were in a bit of a bind, as our planned sitter had to cancel last minute and this was our first rover experience. We were nervous and sad to leave our 5 month old puppy, but Yuan and Iam instantly put us at ease and we knew they were going to love our puppy like their own. They were amazing with updates and facetimes with my son! LuLu wad very cared for and very loved”

“Anton was very kind and accommodating of my anxious dog. It was the very first boarding experience for my dog, Reiki, and he was very nervous when we arrived at Anton's place. I was worried that he would stay restless, but I was totally wrong! Anton sent me photos and updates, which made me feel safe asking more of his service again. Reiki was able to calm down within hours under his care, and very much enjoyed spending time with him 😄.”

“Bridget was absolutely wonderful with my Shihpoo. He was exceedingly well taken care of for a multi-day stretch. I will continue to rely on Bridget!”

“Wow! Teddy was very well loved during her stay with Amanda! She sent multiple pictures daily and didn't get upset when I would check in with her about how Teddy was adjusting. She gave Teddy all the cuddles, all the walks Teddy needed, and was comfortable giving Teddy her allergy medication daily. Amanda was kind enough to do a meet and greet prior to booking && was so genuine and caring. It made our drop off way easier for Teddy and I. I would highly recommend her!”

“I was a bit skeptical using Rover, and a bit nervous to leave Dilon. Paloma explained the process and was very helpful. I loved that Dilon stayed in good hands and I was able to have peace of mind. Paloma kept me informed of Dilon’s day to day, she would answer promptly to the messages and would also send pictures regularly. Thank you again for taking good care of Dilon.”

“Lal was amazing! She watched our puppy and was very communicative and committed to taking great care of him! It was our first time leaving him and we were so pleased with her and are glad to have a trusted sitter!”

“Bitzie had a great time with Mykyla and Andrew! Appreciated the multiple updates and pics, and flexing to keep her an extra night due to my travel delays. Will def be a return guest.”

“Kadeem was an amazing host for Bruno. He was extremely communicative and even let me book a few extra days last minute. He sent photos and checked in all through the week. Truly a genuine soul with a huge heart. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking. 10 stars! 😌✨”

“Soooooo amazingly patient and understanding. Yhis will be this will not be the last time Symone babysit Mason royalty. All I can say is thank you a 1000 times and I appreciate everything you did. Can't say that enough.”

“Deibi and Tiffany took wonderful care of my two dogs over a long weekend. I received detailed updates, photos, and videos everyday. Tiffany was super responsive and she’s so kind! My dogs didn’t want to leave!!!”

“Paloma was an excellent dog sitter for our Mia! She was reliable, thoughtful, and caring when it came to responding to us and sending pictures, videos and general updates daily. She went above and beyond when we were in a pinch to find a sitter and we would use her over and over again moving forward- highly recommend!”

“Could not recommend Sanaz enough, she is communicative, charismatic and reasonably flexible about drop off and pick up. We have a big, high energy dog and he came home a tired boy!”

“Lio is truly a beloved member of our family and is adored by my three children. I am very selective about where I leave him and rarely trust anyone else to care for him. From the very beginning, both Sayarlin and her husband were incredibly kind, caring, and attentive with our "big boy", who think he is a Chihuahua. Whenever I called or had a question, they were always responsive and thoughtful, which gave me great peace of mind. One thing I especially appreciated is that they have access to an outdoor space in New York, allowing Lio to get fresh air and feel comfortable outside of the apartment setting. Their love for animals is obvious, and they treated Lio as if he were their own. I highly recommend their dog-sitting service to anyone looking for trustworthy, compassionate, and reliable pet care.”

“They were amazing with Onyx. Sent me daily photos of him playing and interacting with other dogs and while on walks. They were very responsive to all messages.”

“Michael was a total professional. He took great care of my 3-year-old dog during an extended stay and was consistently responsive with texts and photos, which gave me real peace of mind. He was also very flexible and accommodating with pick-ups and drop-offs. I could tell my dog had a great time relaxing on their couch and felt right at home.”

“Ir was a last minute request and I was fearful to trust anyone with Coco. But Jatna kept me updated with my 6 months old filled with energy frenchie with texts and photos easing my anxiety. Now I have a place to trust leaving Coco when needed. Thank you, Jatna!”

“Keunyung took such good care of Noah while I was away for a weekend! She provided regular updates with tons of pictures and videos, and I appreciated the daily journal of his walks and meals. She really helped me feel at ease while I was away. Thank you for giving Noah the best weekend!”

“Jefra watched Finnegan while my mom and I went out for a day trip and she was so wonderful! Ryan was out traveling, but Jefra took a beautiful portrait of Finnegan and he made friends on walks and with the neighbor across the hall! He was very happy when we picked him up. Lisa took amazing care of my dog for 8 nights, and I couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter. She treated him like he was her own, made sure he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for, and kept me updated while I was away. Coming home to a happy, healthy dog gave me so much peace of mind. She is kind, reliable, and truly loves animals. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their pet. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of my Milo!

Kate was so welcoming & we felt so comfortable leaving our boy with her ! He’s never really stayed with someone new - so it was a first for him and us. Kate ansked all the questions in reference to his care & gave us some tips on what to bring so he’d be comfortable in a new home. She updated us daily before we even had to check in & he came back happy & healthy ! Definitely reach out - such a relief & so much peace of mind having Kate as our sitter.

Denise was kind enough to take Gordon for 10 days on super short notice after our typical sitter had a family emergency. Booking with her was the best decision we ever made! Gordon's stay at her house seemed like summer camp! Activities, walks, other doggy friends, her adorable grandson giving him all the love and attention. Her house is absolutely beautiful with a lovely backyard. Receiving photos daily was such a treat and we knew he was having the best time. We love love love Denise and will 100000000% rebook with her. She was worth every cent. Gordon was visibly sad to be leaving!!!!

I was nervous leaving my dog for the first time, but Grace made it so easy — regular photo updates, a happy pup, and she even noticed little things about his personality I hadn’t mentioned. Charlie came home relaxed and tail-wagging, which says it all. If you’re looking for someone who treats your pet like family, look no further — I’ve already booked our next stay!

We left our maltipoo with Moonyoung and Sunhyung for the longest we have ever left her. We were admittedly very nervous at first, but were immediately put at ease. Our dog was not doing so well with the adjustment the first few days and was having some GI problems, but they were so patient, kind, and caring with her and nursed her back to health while communicating with us the whole time. I could tell our pup was so comfortable and happy with them once she felt better- and it made my time away so much more enjoyable and relaxed. Don’t hesitate to book - they are such great and kind people!

We had a wonderful experience with Edelann and Lax and felt completely at ease leaving Buddy with them. They were communicative, warm, and clearly treated him like part of the family. Buddy had a great time - he loved playing with their dog Akira and enjoying their big backyard, and it was clear he was happy and comfortable throughout his stay. We also really appreciated the updates and the attentive care they provided. We’re so grateful for the love and care they showed Buddy and would absolutely trust them again. Highly recommend!

Melissa took care of Duke while we were away for a week, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. She kept us updated throughout and shared pictures and videos, which gave us great peace of mind. We’re really glad to have found someone nearby we can trust and rely on. Thank you, Melissa, for taking such great care of Duke—and for looking after the plants as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
