“Jessy did an amazing job and was so attentive to my cat and proactively shared daily messages, photos, videos to show how she was doing. My cat bonded with her quickly, which was such a relief, especially given can be reticent around new people. I’ve had such peace of mind and I’m so glad that my cat was so well taken care of. I will definitely use her again to watch my cat!”

“This was my first Rover experience and it could not have been better. Ashley sent photos of my dog throughout my trip away, so I was never worried. Ashley was incredible, attentive, and so communicative. I would definitely reccomend this service, as well as Ashley, to anyone!”

About: I have years of experience with cats and dogs of all ages. I have so much love for all animals and I’m very patient in taking care and getting to know them. I’ve had many dog clients and each dog has their own personality. Each client I have, I take the time to make sure that the pet is comfortable and happy. On the days I have your pet, I will have plenty of time to take care of them for their scheduled time. I love animals and have pets myself so pet care falls naturally into my daily actives. From making time to walk, feed, and exercise with them. My top priority is to provide a safe environment for the pets that will be in my home or a clients home. Its very important for me to make sure I provide good communication with the owner. Before taking care of your pet, I like to discuss specific requirements my clients might need for their pet, such as feeding schedules. exercise routines, and any special needs. I give frequent updates and provide many pictures and if there’s anything of concern that I see while your pet is in my care I make sure to notify the owner immediately.
“Excellent experience! Rocket had a blast and was clearly very well cared for. I loved the photo updates, highly recommend for anyone looking for a sitter who truly loves dogs!”

My home has plenty of space albeit a one-bedroom unit. There is a security system built into place as well.

She kept us updated throughout the stay by sending us lots of videos and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. “Imari is amazing! This was the second time she watched my pup and it really does feel like she loves him like her own, which is more than I can ask for. “Alitha took great care of Miles while I was out of town! 100% would user her again and recommend her to anyone who needs someone to look after their furry friend. She sent me lots of updates and Miles was so happy when I picked him up.”

“Thank you, Beautifull, for taking such incredible care of my dogs! I am forever grateful for everything you did while I was away. She cared for my two senior dogs for an entire week and kept me updated every step of the way. She sent me photos during their walks and regularly checked in with updates, which gave me so much peace of mind. Whenever anything came up, she let me know right away. Since my dogs are seniors, they experienced some anxiety being away from home and even had a little stomach upset, which can happen when they’re stressed. She handled everything with so much patience, care, and compassion, and made sure I was informed throughout the entire stay. It was clear that she genuinely cared about their well-being and treated them like they were her own. Knowing they were in such loving hands allowed me to truly enjoy my trip without constantly worrying about them. I trust her completely and will absolutely book with her again in the future. If you’re looking for someone who is reliable, communicative, compassionate, and truly loves animals, I cannot recommend her enough. Your pets will be in amazing hands!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - South Hackensack
We had a great experience all around with our booking with Lisa. Her accommodation to provide a safe and welcoming home for our dog was more than satisfactory! She is a professional. I am hyper vigilant when it comes to my dog, and Lisa addressed and reassured me of my every concern. There was an immediate connection between our dog, Lisa, and her family. I highly recommend Lisa for the excellent service that she provides!
Gracie was so well cared for by Andrew. She is 9 years old, and it was her first time being left with any sitter. It was not easy for Gracie to be separated, and she is skittish. Andrew was able to provide the attention she needed. He also had such a great communication, which helped ease my anxiety. He was patient, calm and knows how to work with dogs who need extra care. I am planning for future care of Gracie in the future.

Amazing dog sitter! She was friendly, flexible, and clearly cared about my dog's comfort the whole time. She sent photo updates throughout the stay, which I really appreciated. My dog loved her instantly and was happy and relaxed the whole time. Highly recommend — will definitely book again!

Moonyoung and Sunhyung are AMAZING. This was our first time leaving our puppy with someone else and also our first time using Rover. They were so amazing with all of the updates and pictures throughout the day. They took our pup to the park and took him out of walks multiple times a day. They are also super responsive in case you have any questions or concerns. We’re so glad we found people who we can trust!

Christine is great and very caring for my fur baby. She paid attention to Furball’s food and exercises. She also sent tons of great pictures and updates during the stay. Furball had a great time and made new friends. Very happy and I trust her to sit Furball in the future. Thank you Christine

Christina was so communicative and Neptune seemed very well looked after while I was away for a week. When I described Neptunes potential reactivity she took it all in stride and he did very well while he was there, which I’m so grateful for. I will definitely use her services again!

Sandra and San were absolutely exceptional with our dog, Luna. From the moment we met them, it was clear they genuinely care about the animals they look after. They went above and beyond in every aspect of Luna’s care. Their attention to safety and protection gave us complete peace of mind, and they took the time to learn every detail of her routine—from her meal schedule to her individual needs and preferences. They even asked for our veterinarian’s name and contact information in advance, which showed how prepared and responsible they are in case of an emergency. Throughout Luna’s stay, we knew she was in loving, capable hands. The level of care, professionalism, and genuine affection they showed her exceeded all of our expectations. We couldn’t recommend Sandra and San more highly. If you’re looking for people who will care for your dog as if they were their own, look no further. Thank you both for taking such wonderful care of Luna—we will absolutely be booking with you again!!

We had a wonderful experience with Edelann and Lax and felt completely at ease leaving Buddy with them. They were communicative, warm, and clearly treated him like part of the family. Buddy had a great time - he loved playing with their dog Akira and enjoying their big backyard, and it was clear he was happy and comfortable throughout his stay. We also really appreciated the updates and the attentive care they provided. We’re so grateful for the love and care they showed Buddy and would absolutely trust them again. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
