“Denise was a god sent ! She helped us out by picking Louie up and watching him last minute after our dog sitter had a death in her family , and I was away on vacation ! Highly recommend -l”

“Just Amazing! Drop off to pickup was seamless. I would trust her with Shadow anytime. Thanks so much for taking great care of my baby! If anyone has doubts, DONT! Book her immediately!! ❤️”

“Carolina took such good care of our two dogs. They had so much fun playing with her dog as well. She sent daily updates about how they were doing which was perfect since we were so far away from home for over a week. We really appreciated her taking care of them. We highly recommend her loving care.”

“Liz was great with Emmie and sent photos of her each day. She responded promptly with any questions during the stay. She took her on walks, let her play in the backyard, and play with her kids. I would highly recommend and will be using her again in the future!”

“Stephanie was absolutely the best, we loved her calm energy. Rolex felt right at home with her and Toby. She communicated often with pics and updates and we loved that. 10/10 experience and highly recommend. We’ll be back!”

“Evelien took such excellent care of our dog! He came home so happy, and you could tell he was so well cared for. Evelien was communicative and sent wonderful daily updates on how he was doing, what he was up to, and photos of his stay. We would definitely use her again!”

“Carol was absolutely awesome! She checked in with us daily, sent photos, and reassured us that our pups were in good hands. She was flexible which we needed as we were hiring her ahead of having our baby who ended up coming early and she was gracious enough to move up our days. When she had questions she would reach out which we appreciated as our pups have skin issues and very sensitive stomachs. Carol and her family love pets and it is so evident by how happy our pups were at pick up and we will 100% be leaving our pups with her again. When we were driving off our pups were crying because they didn't want to leave. Thank you for taking such good care of them!”

“Priyanka is the best Rover care giver I’ve ever had. She is caring and thoughtful and took incredible care of our senior dog. We’re so grateful to her and will definitely book her again”

“I am one satisfied customer. Ryan took excellent care of my dog for one week. He stayed in contact with me for the duration of the week via text and emails. Ryan sent several pictures not to mention asking questions pertaining to my dogs needs. He is an excellent dog sitter. Trust me when I tell you booking him is a fantastic choice!!!”

“My Maple is a repeat guest. This week, she was very excited to be dropped off at Marlene's, and a little sad when it was time to pick her up. Next time I'm expecting that Maple will refuse to come home. But we will keep boarding with Marlene anyway, because she is incredibly kind and takes such amazing care of my high-maintenance pup.”

“Kira had such a great time at Maureen’s for her 2 night stay! Maureen gave Kira lots of attention which we appreciated since Kira can be a bit anxious. Maureen also watches Kira on a regular basis for doggy day care and is always great with her! We would not hesitate to have Kira over for a future stay!”

“Left my big boy for 3nights with Enis. Very easy to work with. Keep in contact, very responsive. Handled my big boy without issue. Returned to a happy dog! Will book again!”

“I will give Kate 10/10 I can feel when I picked up my dog ,my furry daughter had been taken care of. And she keep me updated everyday which is amazing. And my dog is old and not many Dogsitter really know how to take care of old dog due to my previous experience of dog sitter. I just rebook Kate again for my upcoming gateway family and I feel assured that my dog will feels like home with her.”

“Jadea was amazing. I could tell Oreo loved her and she was so great about sending pictures and even continuing training her. She is also flexible and showed grace went I was delayed by traffic. Will be using her again for sure!”

“We left our dog with Evelyn for 2 nights for our wedding- he has never stayed with anyone before so we were worried he’d be stressed but after dropping him off we knew we made the right choice with Evelyn! She sent us so many pictures and videos of him enjoying play time and walks. He wasn’t even anxious when we came back to get him. We will be using her again for sure and recommend Evelyn to anyone looking for someone to take care of their pup!”

“Angelica took great care of Kora again!! Kora wasn't eating in the morning and Angelica hand fed her until she started to eat on her own, thankful Angelica is this caring of the pets she sits for. Thank you Angelica”

Excellent sitter! Amazing communication before and during Moira’s stay. Caring and compassionate towards Moira. I would recommend to everyone to use Michelle is excellent you will not be disappointed. What I loved the most is all the photos and videos sent to me. Moira. Looked happy and well taken care of. I highly recommend Michelle!!!

We left our maltipoo with Moonyoung and Sunhyung for the longest we have ever left her. We were admittedly very nervous at first, but were immediately put at ease. Our dog was not doing so well with the adjustment the first few days and was having some GI problems, but they were so patient, kind, and caring with her and nursed her back to health while communicating with us the whole time. I could tell our pup was so comfortable and happy with them once she felt better- and it made my time away so much more enjoyable and relaxed. Don’t hesitate to book - they are such great and kind people!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
