“Very positive experience with a 5 night boarding stay with Carolina's family. She's very pleasant to deal with, and she seems to be a very experienced dog owner. My dog seems to have really enjoyed his stay, playing with her Sheepadoodle. They have a very nice enclosed backyard where the dogs can plan outside. It made it very easy to go away on vacation for the week knowing our dog was in good hands. Will definitely rebook in the future and would highly recommend.”

“Eveyln was so patient and attentive with dunkin. She updated me with pictures and videos throughout the days. Dunkin was comfortable and enjoyed his stay, will definitely book again. Thank you!”

“Ryan was the best. He was flexible and took care of my girl like his own. He took her out for walks and sent updates and photos. I felt safe leaving her with Ryan. Will definitely book him again!”

“Another successful stay for our Lola with Aeli. She has been our go to this year when we have been out of town. Communication is excellent and truly a great sitter for our dog. This time was a 7 day stay and we are so fortunate to have found Aeli. Lola always has a wonderful stay. No doubt we will book again.”

“Funda was amazing! I traveled for 3 days and didn’t worry about my dog once. She provided photos and updates throughout the day and Prince was very happy with her. She also has kids which made Prince even more excited, he loves playing with children. I will be utilizing her moving forward when I continue to go on business trips. Thanks so much for taking care of my dog Funda!”

“Iliana is very nice and kind both to us and our pets. She sent us pics every morning and evening and always answered any questions quickly. She even gave our dog a bath the morning that we picked him up. Highly recommend”

“I was a bit skeptical using Rover, and a bit nervous to leave Dilon. Paloma explained the process and was very helpful. I loved that Dilon stayed in good hands and I was able to have peace of mind. Paloma kept me informed of Dilon’s day to day, she would answer promptly to the messages and would also send pictures regularly. Thank you again for taking good care of Dilon.”

“Sabrina is incredible and took special care of my dog. She keeps in constant contact with photos and videos. This was my first time using Rover and I will definitely book with Sabrina again. 10/10 fully recommend her!”

“Euitae was the best dog sitter I’ve ever had. Euitae was responsive and so so attentive and caring for my senior guy, Jack, taking Jack for lots of walks and adventures in the park, and even a dog café where Jack got to make new friends. I’m so incredibly grateful for Euitae and 1000% recommend him as a sitter! I can’t wait to call Euitae again, Jack had an AMAZING time.”

“I will give Kate 10/10 I can feel when I picked up my dog ,my furry daughter had been taken care of. And she keep me updated everyday which is amazing. And my dog is old and not many Dogsitter really know how to take care of old dog due to my previous experience of dog sitter. I just rebook Kate again for my upcoming gateway family and I feel assured that my dog will feels like home with her.”

“Charlie was great. Very friendly and helpful. My Sophie (cat) isn't crazy about change but she was fine with him after a short time of adjustment. He sent me a photo to show she was doing fine and when we said we were almost there he had her ready to go & her toys & food packed up. We were very tired & just wanted to get home so this was a good thing for us. We drove from Niagara Falls to N. Jersey and were on the road for 7-8 hrs. I highly recommend Charlie.”

“Yuan is absolutely amazing! My puppy is always excited to stay with her and never wants to leave! Yuan is punctual and very responsive which is highly appreciated since leaving our fur babies can be stressful. I highly recommend her!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lodi
The most amazing sitter ever. I received daily pictures of my sweet girl all day. She was living the dream! My flight was delayed and they were available to keep my Rubi an additional day. It was my first time leaving my sweetie with a sitter and first time using rover but I was at ease knowing she was in good hands! Will definitely book again if I ever go away for vacation.

Amarys was amazing with my dog, Diamond! She took such great care of her, played with her, took her on lots of walks, and kept me updated throughout the stay with plenty of photos. It was so reassuring to see how happy and comfortable Diamond was. You can tell she genuinely cares about the dogs she watches, and Diamond absolutely loved her. I felt completely at ease knowing she was in such good hands. We’ll definitely be booking with Amarys again, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!

Paloma was great! We had our fur baby on her hand for eight nights. Paloma updated everyday how he was doing during our travel with bunch of photos. Our puppy seem to be very happy on her hand. When we picked him up, he seemed to be so sad to be parted with her and refused to leave. He was healthy and happy when he came back home. I will definitely find her again when we have another occasion that we have to leave him behind.

Christina was so communicative and Neptune seemed very well looked after while I was away for a week. When I described Neptunes potential reactivity she took it all in stride and he did very well while he was there, which I’m so grateful for. I will definitely use her services again!

Our dog had a great time staying with them! He had a hard time adjusting at first and marked his territory, but they were incredibly patient and understanding. Before long, he settled in and became much more comfortable. They were the most responsive and communicative sitters throughout his stay. They kept us updated, flagged any concerns calmly without causing unnecessary stress during our wedding weekend, and took amazing care of Chase—even through the fireworks over the Fourth of July weekend. We're so grateful for the love and patience they showed him, and we'll definitely be booking with them again soon!

We had a wonderful experience with Edelann and Lax and felt completely at ease leaving Buddy with them. They were communicative, warm, and clearly treated him like part of the family. Buddy had a great time - he loved playing with their dog Akira and enjoying their big backyard, and it was clear he was happy and comfortable throughout his stay. We also really appreciated the updates and the attentive care they provided. We’re so grateful for the love and care they showed Buddy and would absolutely trust them again. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
