About: Dogs have always been part of my life. Big, small, and everything in between. Growing up with pups taught me how to love, care for, and understand their unique personalities. I love them all and can’t wait to meet yours! 😀 I have hybrid work environment so I'm home two out of the three days a week if needed. I'm free on most weekdays and weekends. When caring for pets, whether in my own home or in your home home, I prioritize creating a safe and comfortable atmosphere. I ensure regular exercise and playtime tailored to their specific needs and preferences, fostering both physical and mental enrichment. Additionally, I will strictly follow any dietary requirements. Constant monitoring of their health and behavior allows for prompt action in case of any emergencies, and I maintain open communication with the pet owner, providing regular updates and pictures.

Charlie is amazing!! He took great care of our dog Kira, ensuring she was well-fed, exercised, and given lots of attention. He was attentive to her needs, especially given her sensitive stomach, and kept us updated with regular check-ins. We felt completely at ease knowing she was in good hands. Highly recommend! Let me know if you want any tweaks!

About: Hello!! I’m Zainab, an owner of 2 silly cats and I would love to take care of your furry loved one! Spending time with pets genuinely makes me happy and it shows in the type of care I give them. Finding the appropriate pet care is just as stressful as finding the right care for your human child. A few of my qualities like being patient, reliable, and responsible can help ease your mind especially when you are far away from your pet. I will always stay in touch and give regular check-ins with a photo of your pet so you can see how they are doing. Yours and your pets comfort is my priority. I’m there to make your pet feel safe, loved and cared for no matter what their big personality brings. They can be shy, energetic, cuddly or even a bit stubborn. I’ve taken care of friends and family’s dogs and I care for my 2 cats including one of my cats that needs his daily oral allergy medication. I’d love to meet you and your furry best friend! I am currently unemployed and looking to fill up some of my time looking after your pets. My time is pretty flexible to give them all the attention they need! I try my best to keep up with your pets same schedule and routine so they do not feel lonely or stressed without their human their. And of course there will be extra attention and play time going around.

She was super comfortable with Nheli (even during a rainstorm, which says something!) Nheli was responsive, and sent a bunch of adorable photos. Would love to work with her again!

About: What sets me apart is my experience caring for animals of all ages and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. Last summer, I independently took care of my friend’s four dogs for an entire month, which included overnight stays and house sitting responsibilities. The dogs ranged from 1 to 10 years old, so I’m comfortable handling both energetic younger dogs and older dogs who may need extra patience and care. I’ve also been taking care of my own dog since I was 8 years old, giving me years of hands-on experience with daily care, walks, feeding, and attention. In addition, I have experience caring for less than week-old kittens on my own, which taught me how attentive, gentle, and responsible I need to be when caring for animals. During the school year, I attend school, but I have a very flexible schedule with my classes and plenty of availability before and after school as well as on weekends. During the summer, when I plan to do more pet sitting and dog walking, my schedule will be very open and flexible. I’m able to work around pet owners’ needs and can provide walks, feeding, playtime, check-ins, and overnight care at a variety of times throughout the day. I’m very reliable, responsive, and committed to making sure pets stay on their normal routines and feel comfortable while in my care. I currently do not offer boarding or pet sitting in my own home due to having pets of my own, but I’m very comfortable caring for pets in their own home where they feel safest and most comfortable. I always make it a priority to keep pets on their normal routines by following feeding schedules, walks, playtime, litter box cleaning, medication instructions if needed, and giving them lots of attention and care while their owners are away. I have experience caring for both cats and dogs of different ages, including nursing less than week-old kittens and independently caring for four dogs for a month while house sitting. I understand how important trust and safety are when leaving your pets with someone, and I always make sure pets are supervised, comfortable, and well cared for at all times.

About: Hi, I’m Kaila. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy who will give your dog extra love, you’ve come to the right place! Other than being responsible and caring, I understand every client’s wants and needs. Let me know if you have any special requests, and I would be sure to accommodate them. I send updates while taking care of your pet so that you can rest assured that your dog is safe with me. I know how much the protection of your pet means to you, so that is my #1 priority! As for my background, I have interned at Oradell Animal Hospital observing surgeries, sitting in on clinical appointments, and familiarizing myself with different dog breeds and their unique personalities and medical needs. I have just graduated with my Bachelor's Degree and I have an aspiration to work in veterinary medicine. I can also take care of cats or any small animals. I am able to provide plenty of quality time with your pups! My schedule is pretty flexible and I try to keep my Calendar updated as much as I can. Just message me and we can coordinate days/times! I love to provide your dogs with mental and physical stimulation. Bring your dog’s favorite toys, and I’ll be sure to have some fun with them and make your dog feel comfortable and at home. About: I have two pets of my own, a cat and a dog. I know the needs to take care of both of them and would find it easier to handle yours. Worked at a pet hotel for a couple weeks and dealt with a variety of dogs (even cats) and know that each pet can be different and I'm ready to accustomed to your pet to ensure they feel comfortable and safe! I currently work at a nightshift so I would prefer to work during the evening. Depending on my schedule I would be able to work nightshifts on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Wednesdays. My dog is very playful and would enjoy having a bit of fun with yours! My cat is shy to newcomers so it might not interact with your pet.

About: I started my experience dog walking 2 years ago for a professor’s friend in Winchester, Virginia. Twice a week, I would walk her hyper pups. She then recommended me to her father, whose dog I began walking twice a week as well. From there, my mini business boomed through word of mouth. I began dog sitting in people’s homes as well for multiple individuals for varying time spans. Most of the dogs I interacted with were seniors and required extensive care. However, all dogs owners loved and recommended me to others! I still walk the original dogs and add in others as my schedule allows with two other jobs. I am sad to leave my extensive clientele in Winchester, but I am moving back to New Jersey for graduate school and excited to meet new puppy friends!! For the summertime, I am incredibly flexible with nothing planned. I prefer weekly walks / drop ins, but also like sitting as well. In August, I start physical therapy school at Columbia University so my availability will decrease but I’d be willing to provide services on nights / weekends. During breaks, my availability will open up again! Whenever walking / sitting, I respect the owner’s rules, no matter what. I long to maintain utmost cleanliness and adherence to routine as physically possible. I am also very communicative and honest, building trust with my clients.

Jacob was amazing! From the first moment he established a great rapport with our 5 year old Golden Retriever Maximus and treated him with kindness and love. We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! Our dog was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for throughout the entire stay. We received regular updates, photos, and excellent communication, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It’s obvious he genuinely loves animals and treats them like family. Maddie was by far the best dog sitter. I have two golden retrievers that love to run, play fetch and go on hikes. She did all of the above and more. she sent me pictures, took the dogs hiking at the reservation, they went on 2 mile walks, played fetch and were very well taken care of. She is kind, respectful, communicative, and truly loved our fur babies. I highly recommend her. I will definitely hire her when we travel. I cannot thank her enough!! 🩷🦴🐾🦮

Great experience! Communication was easy and consistent, and I felt very comfortable leaving my pets in her care. She went above and beyond — Rocket is currently going through a hard time and she cooked fresh meals for Rocket every day and was able to get him to eat without vomiting, which has been a big challenge for him. FAQs for House Sitting - Lodi

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Lodi on Rover is $105.45 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 19,048 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lodi. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lodi walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lodi maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lodi choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lodi. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
