“Andrew was great with Toby and Harley. He kept me updated on how they were doing. Sent photos and videos showing that all was well. Was excellent with Harley the more reserved of the 2. He has care and concern for the pets in hi his care. Both Harley and Toby enjoyed having Andrew as their sitter. I would recommend Andrew !!!!”

About: Dogs have always been part of my life. Big, small, and everything in between. Growing up with pups taught me how to love, care for, and understand their unique personalities. I love them all and can’t wait to meet yours! 😀 I have hybrid work environment so I'm home two out of the three days a week if needed. I'm free on most weekdays and weekends. When caring for pets, whether in my own home or in your home home, I prioritize creating a safe and comfortable atmosphere. I ensure regular exercise and playtime tailored to their specific needs and preferences, fostering both physical and mental enrichment. Additionally, I will strictly follow any dietary requirements. Constant monitoring of their health and behavior allows for prompt action in case of any emergencies, and I maintain open communication with the pet owner, providing regular updates and pictures.
“Gordon is so good with Asher, and an all around great guy to care for my ‘canine kid’ (many thanks)! Would certainly recommend him to folks looking for a caregiver for their beloved pet. ❤️”

“Axis was an awesome sitter for our dog! She took great care of Blade while house-sitting for the weekend and kept us updated with photos throughout our trip. We really appreciated Axis accepting the booking on short notice earlier in the week. We came home to a happy pup and a well-cared for home. Definitely recommend Axis and will definitely book with her again!”

I use to make and sell healthy dog treats when I lived in NM for 2 years. ❤️Quality over quantity, your dog will always be my priority and never be in a crowded environment such as having too many dogs in one space.❤️ Usually open availability, if there are any scheduling issues I will be sure to let you know in advance and try to work something out. About: I have always felt a strong connection to animals. I believe our pets are just as important as any other family member. I grew up with dogs and now have a puppy that I share with my partner who is quite truly our child. One of my recent clients said, "Rachel, you see animals as if they are little children, with personalities, feelings and emotions. I've never come across anyone that is as intuitive with them as you are". I'm that girl who will stop you in the middle of the street to pet your pup just because he or she looked at me. I want to give them as much love as I possibly can. My patience is my biggest asset and skill as a pet parent, sitter and dog walker. I want to give your pup the same attention as I give my own. I sit for both puppies, kitties and senior animals. I'm experienced with special care needs such as medication management or any other special care your animal may require. When I'm caring for your your pet(s) they becomes my family and I give them the gentle care and loyal love they deserve. PS. Our beloved Rocco passed over the rainbow bridge in early June. We are in the process of adopting another puppy. As a freelancer, I often have a flexible schedule and am happy to come up with a schedule that works for us both - weather you are looking for regular care or are simply taking a trip for the weekend and need someone to look after your fuzzball. I am able to provide sitting services at your home, walking sessions, drop-in visits or play dates. I live with my partner and am able to care for your pup in our home or in yours, the choice is yours. My partner is allergic to cats, so although, I am not able to board them in my home unfortunately. But, I am more than happy to board them in your home, drop by for a cuddle, play time, in home stay. I love going on walks and can play with your pets to make sure they stay happy and mentally enriched. I can also brush your pets hair for you, bathe them as well as give massages.
“We are happy and satisfied with the three days that Keka has been house-sitting our pawlove Hazel. Sure they had quality time playing around the house and outside during their walk. On top of that she got to provide Hazel with some Training that she needed. We appreciate so much the time she spent with our Hazel. We will surely recommend her to our other paw parent friends and surely it won't be the last for Keka & Hazel.”
“The dog was happy and the place was standing. In the end that's all that matters but a decent person who communicates well with an honest smile on their face and a personality to match makes the whole thing run smoother.”

About: I have the unique perspective of being both a "dog person" and a "cat person". I grew up caring for my lively Jack Russell Terrier and I now live with my two cats. I have a deep love for all animals and I am highly attentive to their needs and health. As a college student, I have a very light schedule over the summer, so I have plenty of time to spend caring for your pets! I am very attentive to your pets' needs. I have experience safely walking dogs of all sizes, letting them enjoy themselves while still keeping them secure. I am cautious when it comes to keeping the house secure when checking in and making sure they are eating well.
“Elissa was so great when she house sat for us to watch our cat and dog. She sent plenty of updates and made sure she had all the information she needed, like double checking the feeding schedule and making sure there were no medications to administer. Will definitely see if she’s available the next time we need help with the pets!”

“Nheli was absolutely wonderful! She came a day before our booking to meet Shayna and get acclimated with her, and on babysitting day, Shayna couldn't have been happier! She was super comfortable with Nheli (even during a rainstorm, which says something!) Nheli was responsive, and sent a bunch of adorable photos. Would love to work with her again!”

About: I have two pets of my own, a cat and a dog. I know the needs to take care of both of them and would find it easier to handle yours. Worked at a pet hotel for a couple weeks and dealt with a variety of dogs (even cats) and know that each pet can be different and I'm ready to accustomed to your pet to ensure they feel comfortable and safe! I currently work at a nightshift so I would prefer to work during the evening. Depending on my schedule I would be able to work nightshifts on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Wednesdays. My dog is very playful and would enjoy having a bit of fun with yours! My cat is shy to newcomers so it might not interact with your pet.
“Yanni was amazing with Harley and Ellie! She made a point to meet us and meet the dogs before our stay. She had her hands full with an older dog with heart issues and thunderstorm anxiety and a younger dog with destructive tendancies! Yanni was able to make sure both were happy and healthy while we were gone. She went above and beyond to keep me in the loop with what was happening, how everyone was getting along, and picture updates. Yanni even made sure to go back to the house after the stay was over to make sure Ellie got her medication for thunderstorms when storms rolled through before we got home. Her thoughfulness made a huge impression on me and she truly cares for animals. I highly recommend Yanni and will use her again when we go out of town.”

“Megan was super communicative! She took care of my two senior babies and made sure they were loved on and had all of their meds. I've already recommended her to multiple folks. Will use again!”

About: I am an owner 4 year old Tripawd German Shepard (Cleo). With raising her I am comfortable with dogs with medical needs or attention. As well because of her breed I have a good aptitude in training dogs. I actually started fostering this year, and have worked with the shelter to transition pups into their forever homes. I have fostered from young pups to adorable rowdy adults. I am patient and look out for the best needs of the pup. I am actively learning new ways to engage and encourage reinforcing positive behaviors such as good leash manners, house manners, and outdoor manners. I can help reinforce any structure you have for you pup while you are away. I am a Software Engineer currently working from home. I typically have a lot of flexibility for walks and engagement needed for your pup. During the work week I can be available for drop in visits walks in the morning afternoon, and evenings. Happy to take them to nearby parks. I have been fostering this year and that has also well equipped me being adaptive to dogs needs. (walking more frequently, engagement feeding) I when available I can do house sitting on weekends. Any house rules that are established I will respect 100%. I believe house sitting to be a really good route to allow pups to stay calm during your leave, so my main focus is to ensure to create a welcoming environment. I can follow their day to day walking and feeding schedule.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wood-Ridge
Maddie was by far the best dog sitter. I have two golden retrievers that love to run, play fetch and go on hikes. She did all of the above and more. she sent me pictures, took the dogs hiking at the reservation, they went on 2 mile walks, played fetch and were very well taken care of. She is kind, respectful, communicative, and truly loved our fur babies. I highly recommend her. I will definitely hire her when we travel. I cannot thank her enough!! 🩷🦴🐾🦮

Marisol was excellent! Although there were minor communication mistakes, she definitely made the effort to resolve those issues! She was very respectful and kind. Took great care of my home in my absence. Definitely very respectful and kind of other people’s belongings, pets, etc.

Terilyn is absolutely wonderful! I have very shy dogs, and I was nervous about how they would handle a new sitter, but Terilyn was patient and intuitive. She came up with creative ideas to help them feel comfortable and safe in her presence. Her communication was top-notch; she sent frequent updates that really put my mind at ease. I’m so happy I found her and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful, professional sitter!"

Great experience! Communication was easy and consistent, and I felt very comfortable leaving my pets in her care. She went above and beyond — Rocket is currently going through a hard time and she cooked fresh meals for Rocket every day and was able to get him to eat without vomiting, which has been a big challenge for him. She was also wonderful with Luna and made sure both of them were well cared for. I really appreciated the updates and photos while I was away. They were clearly happy and comfortable. I would definitely book again and highly recommend her! 🐾

Kristine is the most caring, kind, and genuinely incredible person we have ever met on this app. The way she takes care of our puppies is truly amazing and she goes above and beyond to make sure they are happy and that my husband and I have nothing to worry about! She updates with photos all day, texts how they are doing and what they are doing, and answers her phone the second we text her. It is so obvious how much she adores animals, and our puppies adore her. We are so lucky to have found Kristine! Would recommend to anyone, and already booked her to watch our puppies many more times after her first visit. What a wonderful person!!!! We are blown away!

My husband and I just came home with 2 puppies and were worried for our first day back to work. Michael made sure we had nothing to worry about. He texted us all day, sent photos, updates, provided above and beyond care to our puppies and is the most caring and kind person. We are so thankful we found Michael and are so lucky to have such a wonderful person to watch our pups with full care and attention for our 10 hour work days. He makes sure our puppies are safe and loved and we would recommend him to anyone needing excellent dog care.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wood-Ridge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wood-Ridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wood-Ridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
