About: I can't remember a time when I did not have a pet in my life. Probably because there never was such a time! Mostly dogs, but, I have also been a proud cat owner. I have cared for friends' pets, and I understand that leaving your fur baby with someone requires trust. For several decades, I have chosen to adopt my animals from shelters. About: I’ve taken care of dogs for practically all of my life. My family and friends would ask me to take care of or walk their pets and I’d always be there when they needed. I’m also used to taking care of puppies and kitties and enjoyed it no matter how tiring it may have been. My schedule right now is completely free other than going to school and so I’ll always have time to be able to walk a dog or take care of them. In my clients home if I’m pet sitting I’ll make sure I ask where their food is, where I take their water from and if there’s anything in their house that is specifically for their pet and remember that spot for future uses.

About: I've worked via Rover for about six months (as of mid-July '26) -- during which time I've had many highly-satisfied customers, both recurring and one-time. I have cared for a wide range of dogs, from a massive greyhound to an uncharacteristically aggressive male lab to a 20-year-old miniature requiring loving TLC. Prior to Rover, I've taken care of two family dogs who became family members, one of which I rescued from a neglectful owner. I was a hands-on dad to my son (now grown), got him the care he needed to survive and thrive as a preemie, and as a single parent knew well how to feed and change him and care for him when he was sick. As a senior, I have the experience and "seasoning" to know what's important, whether it's an infant or child or a family dog or a person with a disability or a senior like myself. So I know how to see to it that the one in my care is well cared for, happy, and loved. Since the condo development where my wife and I live doesn't allow dogs, I take special pleasure in spending time with them at every opportunity. I come from a long line of dog lovers on my dad's side, and I proudly carry on that tradition. I keep as active as the vicissitudes of age allow, and currently am able to hike, play pickleball, and have recently returned to tennis, 5K runs, and kayaking. That fitness enables me to have what it takes to care for dogs of all ages and stages. I'm a retiree who does part-time volunteer work, both hands-on with elementary-school-aged children and legislative and policy advocacy on behalf of folks with intellectual and developmental disabilities. My other major activities are staying in shape and learning a foreign language. These part-time gigs, and the fact that my wife works part-time, leave me enough time to do some pet care. I cannot care for pets in my home, or for that matter have a dog, because the condo development where I live does not permit dogs. I care for dogs in their owner's homes, following their owners' lead, so to speak, and according to their owners' directives. Fortunately, this means that the dogs I care for, who know their way around their own turf, do not need to adjust to new environs. As a guest myself, I am naturally inclined to treat the home where I find myself with extra care and respect, more so than I would my own home.

This was my first time using Noelle to watch both my epileptic cat and my new kitten, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She stayed at my house for the weekend since my cat, RAMMY, needs medication three times a day. Maddie was by far the best dog sitter. I have two golden retrievers that love to run, play fetch and go on hikes. She did all of the above and more. she sent me pictures, took the dogs hiking at the reservation, they went on 2 mile walks, played fetch and were very well taken care of. Great experience! Communication was easy and consistent, and I felt very comfortable leaving my pets in her care. She went above and beyond — Rocket is currently going through a hard time and she cooked fresh meals for Rocket every day and was able to get him to eat without vomiting, which has been a big challenge for him. She was also wonderful with Luna and made sure both of them were well cared for. I really appreciated the updates and photos while I was away. They were clearly happy and comfortable.
