“Diana does really well with my dog who is very anxious about meeting new people. She keeps me informed about everything my dog does and takes great pictures of my dog. She is very good at taking instructions and takes great care of my dog.”

“Bryant was excellent with my senior dog. He was incredibly experienced in terms of my dog’s specific needs, including diaper changes and being mindful of her dementia traits. He was also very communicative and offered multiple updates throughout the day.”

“Jebraune is our go to cat sitter now. She is respectful of our home and spoils our two cats! We get timely updates and she goes above and beyond to ensure the cats are happy. She has even been helping us train our cats since one is new to the house. Thank you!!”

“Yeisha did a great job with my four fur babies! I gave detailed instructions for feeding plus medications and supplements and treats which she followed to the 't'. The dogs loved her and I appreciated the daily pics ~ I would definitely use her again.”

“I booked a date with Esther and Jay so we could meet each other. I also thought it would give my cat an opportunity to become familiar with them. They arrived exactly on day and time we planned. Esther and Jay are warm and friendly and I found them a joy to have in my home. They asked good questions and I knew they would be wonderful caretakers for my cat. Now if I have to travel, I know my cat and my home will be well looked after.”

About: Hello! My name is Patty, and I’m a lifelong cat lover who truly enjoys caring for animals. I have two cats of my own, Sol and Luna, both two years old, so I understand firsthand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pets. I’ve cared for them since they were kittens, and I’m comfortable working with cats of all ages, from playful little ones to more independent adults. Pets have always been a big part of my life, and I know that each one has their own unique personality and needs. I’m patient, attentive, and happy to adapt to whatever makes your pet feel safest and happiest, whether that’s playtime, quiet companionship, or sticking closely to their routine. I’m currently a student at Columbia University, which gives me a flexible schedule for drop-ins and house sitting. I’m also happy to help with small extras like watering plants while you’re away. I’m open to last-minute bookings whenever possible—just send me a message, and we can find a time that works! I’d love to help make your time away stress-free, knowing your pet is in caring and capable hands. I am a full time student at Columbia, so I have a very flexible schedule. I am specifically looking for opportunities to pet sit over the summer when I will have the most availability, allowing me to stop by as often as you would want me to. I treat every pet like they’re my own, making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I pay close attention to their routines, whether that means sticking to feeding schedules, getting in plenty of playtime, or just providing calm companionship. I’m experienced with different personalities and energy levels, so I adapt to what each pet needs. Whether it’s long walks, belly rubs, or extra patience I am here for it. Your pet’s happiness and well-being are always my top priority.
About: I have over 2 years of pet care experience. I love animals and not afraid of things get dirty, mess, scary, or all three with your animal. I’ll make SURE everything is ok 👍🐾🍇🌞 My schedule is completely open, so I can work at whatever hours are good for you. I provide all services except for taking care of pets in my house. I care for pets by making a connection with them, keeping them within there barriers and keeping an eye on them at all time. Ok
“We are happy and satisfied with the three days that Keka has been house-sitting our pawlove Hazel. Sure they had quality time playing around the house and outside during their walk. On top of that she got to provide Hazel with some Training that she needed. We appreciate so much the time she spent with our Hazel. We will surely recommend her to our other paw parent friends and surely it won't be the last for Keka & Hazel.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for practically all of my life. My family and friends would ask me to take care of or walk their pets and I’d always be there when they needed. I’m also used to taking care of puppies and kitties and enjoyed it no matter how tiring it may have been. My schedule right now is completely free other than going to school and so I’ll always have time to be able to walk a dog or take care of them. In my clients home if I’m pet sitting I’ll make sure I ask where their food is, where I take their water from and if there’s anything in their house that is specifically for their pet and remember that spot for future uses.
About: 🐹🐰🦮🕷️🦎🦂🐟 🐈🦜🐥🐿️🐭🐥🐍🦋 I'm a passionate pet sitter who adores animals, providing exceptional care privately for the last 14 years, and with Rover for the last 5 years. Ever since I was young I noticed I tend to attract animals and vice versa. Over the years I turned my passion into a hobby and began caring for friends/family's pets, as well as having my own. I believe pets are more than just companions -they're cherished members of the family. My empathetic nature helps me understand pet parents' concerns, making me the perfect companion for your pets. Whether it's a cat, dog, or exotic pet, I treat them as my own. I will make sure your fur babies have a Pawsome time!!! I have a very flexible schedule during the week and availability on most weekends- This allows me to provide a more individualized care for your pet(s). I am Pet-CPR Certified by The American Red Cross, background checked by Rover, and carry pet insurance through PCI. A meet and greet is required before any service to ensure your pet and I are a great match. I will take all the sanitary precautions during our meet and greet and will be diligent in following your instructions to provide the best care.
“Iris took a VERY good care of my pup!! She was constantly sending me photographs and videos of Koala every day without asking, which shows her responsibility and dedication to dog sitting. Koala always looked happy on videos and I could see Koala is in a very good mood and overall state, when I came back. I am sure they had a connection:) I am more than happy I chose Iris as a nanny. Definitely going to contact her again in the future!:)”
“Kaylamay exceeded my expectations dog sitting during my very first trip away from my puppy. She was so loving and attentive to Lucia, went above and beyond with any instruction I gave her about her daily routine, made sure she had plenty of exercise and playtime, and consistently sent photos and other updates throughout every single day to help ease my mind while away. She made the time away as easy as possible for both of us. I came home to a very happy puppy and a tidy home!”

About: I’ve been taking care of my dog since she was a tiny puppy, and I treat her like my own little child. I do the same for other people’s pets too - I love to give them food, give them some cuddles, and make sure they’re happy. And always remember to give your furry friend a special treat! As a remote worker, I find flexibility in my work schedule. I enjoy incorporating outdoor walks into my daily routine, which allows me to connect with nature and exercise while having the flexibility to do so with my dog. Through play, companionship, and nourishment. Will stay by the dog and keep the place organized and clean so it is a fair space for the house and the dogs
“Anna was amazing! Sam loved her since the first minute. She spent 15 days with him, everything was perfect and the apartment cleaner than before. 5 stars, I deeply recommend her!”

“Asel is the absolute best. Her warm and welcoming demeanor had my relatively shy and anxious dog immediately obsessed with her. I was shocked to see pictures of my pup on a long walk (not something she usually enjoys other than with people she knows really well) and even feeling playful with her toy. Again these are somewhat normal for most dogs but my girl Hazel is usually very reserved with people at first and just likes to be snuggled up at home. Asel was also very respectful of my home and I felt super comfortable with her there!! 10/10 truly can’t recommend her enough!!”

Lolla was amazing and took great care of Benson. He needs meds and has high anxiety and she did a wonderful job of making sure he was comfortable and looked after. She also handled my pet parent panic and anxiety incredibly! Would strongly recommend her to take great care of your pup!!

Mohammed is the best! He was super flexible when my plans got rearranged. He stayed in my apartment and took after my kitties like they were his own. He sent updates and pictures every day, followed all my necessary instruction, and kept my home clean. 10/10 would book again!

Isabel was an incomparable dogsitter. I can't rave enough about her - in every way. Everything she did for our doggie was perfect - from spending loads of time with her, dispensing senior meds, inspiring her (Millie's almost 16!) to walk...the list goes on. But most importantly, it was so clear that care for Millie was her first priority for the entire time she stayed. She also stayed in touch with me more than any other sitter we've had, with delightful updates and photos. We're forever grateful that we met Isabel and can't wait until the next time she cares for Millie!
I can’t say enough about the diligence and care that Sam provides for Clyde. He walks him daily and also babysat him for 5 days while I traveled for work (in my home). He connects with Clyde so well. I thank God everyday for his help! What a gem. Thank you, Sam!

I booked a date with Esther and Jay so we could meet each other. I also thought it would give my cat an opportunity to become familiar with them. They arrived exactly on day and time we planned. Esther and Jay are warm and friendly and I found them a joy to have in my home. They asked good questions and I knew they would be wonderful caretakers for my cat. Now if I have to travel, I know my cat and my home will be well looked after.

FAQs for House Sitting - Palisades Park
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Palisades Park on Rover is $83.25 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 19,069 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Palisades Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Palisades Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Palisades Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Palisades Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Palisades Park. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
