About: I’ve always been a big animal lover and have experience caring for both dogs and cats. I’m patient, reliable, and genuinely enjoy spending time with pets whether that’s going on walks, playing, or just giving them attention and care. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine, and I’m available for walks every day as well as pet sitting during the week. I’m flexible and can adjust to your pet’s schedule and needs. I provide a quiet, calm, and safe environment where pets can feel comfortable and relaxed. I follow their usual routine closely, including feeding, playtime, and litter care, and always respect their space and personality.
About: I have had multiple dog breeds in my life. Boxers, Dachshund, English Bull Dog, Schnauzer, Labs, Rottweiler and a Jack Russell Terrier. I also take care of my moms German Shephard and my daughters Frenchie when needed. I am very comfortable around dogs and have trained many in my life, through positive reinforcement. I have also had multiple exotic pets including rabbits, a sugar glider, chickens, ducks, hamsters, guinea pigs and ferrets. I am comfortable with care outside of dogs and cats. I currently have 5 cats. One I have to administer asthma treatments too and 2 that get pills daily. I also have a scaredy cat and manage to keep my agressive personality female from beating up everyone else. I recently adopted a cat with 3 legs named Charlotte (her leg was broken when she was rescued) and navigated a hind leg amputation due to cancer for my girl Nelly. I am not afraid to provide your babies with the same love and care. I will wash all food or water bowls daily. I am not afraid to clean a litter box or take apart and wash a fountain. I love animals and would be honored to help with yours. I pet sit all over New York and New Jersey and am comfortable with commuting but I also have an suv. If I need to grab keys from a concierge, gate attendant or doorman please ensure the staff is prepared for my visit and knows I am coming. I would hate for wait time to affect the amount of time I am spending with your pets. I do book visits that are often back to back. I also don’t like to have to bother you (the pet parent) while you are traveling because I can’t access your home. I am also happy to schedule a meet & greet and get keys them. I can’t wait to meet your babies! I have flexibility with my work schedule and can add in visits during my normal week. Having an animal break in my day is something I always look forward too. At this time I am only caring for pets in clients homes. I am comfortable walking dogs, providing cat play time or dog playtime outdoors. I have an suv so in an emergency that is available.
“Candiance took amazing care of our elderly, attention-addicted cat while we were out of town, making sure she got her meds in and sending regular updates. She was also very gracious when our flight was delayed by several hours and we were late getting back.”

“My elderly temperamental dog loved her time with Adeib. She immediately took to him, something that rarely happens. He kept me regularly up to date and I think the two of them had a great time. Would definitely book with Adeib again.”

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by all kinds of animals and I wouldn’t want life without them! It’s always my goal to offer peace of mind for pet parents when they are away. I am in school full time and work part time, but have many breaks throughout the day, including time in the mornings and nights, to give your pet all the care and attention it deserves. I am a guest in your home and hold myself responsible for the safety of your pet. I am very clean and organized and will bring that with me!
“Dayshalis was wonderful with our cats, and a great comfort to know they were in good hands while we were out of town. This was our first time using Rover, so I was a little nervous at first, but Dayshalis made me feel very comfortable right away with how responsive, kind, thoughtful, and respectful she was. She was curious about both our cats, learning their personalities and how to best engage them and give them each what they needed. Dayshalis sent us many photos while we were gone, which were really appreciated, and I could see in the photos that the cats were not only at ease and calm, but enjoying themselves and the interactions they were having with Dayshalis. When we got home, the cats weren’t at all upset that we had been gone, as they sometimes have been with other cat sitters. We really appreciate the care Dayshalis took, and highly recommend her as an excellent pet sitter. Thanks Dayshalis!”

“Emily did a fantastic job house-sitting Beau! She went above and beyond and made sure he got his energy out on long walks and during multiple play sessions. Beau loved her. She also kept our apartment super clean for when we returned. We're so glad we found Emily and will gladly work with her again!”

“Jean was super attentive to our senior cat! He was great with all his meds. He sent us photos and videos everyday and kept our mind at ease so we could relax on vacation knowing our cat was cared for. Highly recommend Jean! Will definitely rebook.”

“Jennie is the best with our dogs! She is super responsible, easy to communicate with, and our dogs loved her during her stay at our home. She is super respectful and also provided very detailed notes/pictures each day. Would not hesitate to leave my dogs with her again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - North Bergen
When I began looking for a house sitter last month, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Monique was available to book again! It was great having someone we know and trust taking care of our two dogs. We came home from a relaxing vacation to happy pets and a pristine apartment. I will definitely check Monique’s availability first thing the next time I’m on Rover!

Kate was great! She handled my instructions, and asked questions when I wasn’t clear on something. She was able to pill my cat, and also keep him from eating the other cat’s food (both were VERY important). She gave me updates each day, along with photos. I will definitely try and book Kate in the future for my cat house sitting!

Lauren was incredible with my cat!! She came through for me in a huge way, agreeing to watch him last minute for 8 nights. She was beyond accommodating and my cat absolutely loved her! She tended to all of his needs, gave me regular updates, and left my apartment clean and tidy when I returned. I’m looking forward to booking with her again!

Kris was absolutely amazing while sittingWinston for the weekend! My dog is very nervous and was recently diagnosed with diabetes so I was a wreck to leave him alone for the weekend but Kris understood. She took great care of Winston and gave him his twice daily insulin shots with no issues. I will definitely ask her to take care of him again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North Bergen walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North Bergen maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Bergen choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
