“My elderly temperamental dog loved her time with Adeib. She immediately took to him, something that rarely happens. He kept me regularly up to date and I think the two of them had a great time. Would definitely book with Adeib again.”

“Lana is great! She texted us daily updates with pictures and videos, is super neat and organized and I could tell that my cat had a safe and happy time, would definitely recommend booking time with Lana!”

About: Well to begin with, I have experience walking numerous dogs since the day I was born. My love for animals in general is immense, contributing to the positive well being of animals is my passion and being able to focus that into a career is something I would have never imagined simply by making sure dogs go when they need too. It all began by simply watching over dogs, and then it lead into feeding them and eventually I took it upon myself to walk them. The first dogs I took care of was a chunky miniature pincher and a 70 lbs pit bull terrier, I am not prejudice towards animals specifically dogs since they are in my field and I have years of experience with different breeds of all sorts. As I am a new LLC on the rise I am in the midst of obtaining my ARC certifications for the health and general knowledge of animals, considering on a professional level I take this very accordingly and not enough dog walking companies supply the same for their walkers. Being trustworthy, reliable, respectable, caring and cautious are few of the many traits I carry and endorse for my business in which I believe are critical in the dog walking business.Every dog is unique, just like a person I would not want to disrespect their space and have them catch a bad vibe from me. I like to make sure I build comfort with the dogs I work with considering not many may be comfortable with letting someone unfamiliar walk them, my specialty. Walking dogs for me personally is never something I like to do in a haste, I enjoy in executing my job correctly and efficiently. I make sure every walk is special at times they come back home with a better attitude than the dogs left in. My main goal for the dogs are exercise, safety, fun and making sure they use the bathroom enough. I am a full time dog walker and lifetime animal lover so meeting accommodations for him or her is never a problem. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile hopefully I gain the opportunity and trust of being able to walk your furry child! Taking care of pups is my daily life. I have my own pups so it comes to me naturally, to want to take care of others! I do this full time! First of all, i make sure the pup is as comfortable as possible make them feel as if the parents are home. I walked them as many times as possible, keep all their needs up to date & give lots of love.
About: I’ve had dogs my whole life, and had 4 dogs at a time for most of that. I’m experienced with senior dogs as well as puppy training. I train dogs with maximum positive reinforcement. My dog/assistant grew up with elderly yorkies and is eager to lend a paw. I’m a freelance motion designer, part time e-learning professor and I work from home on my own schedule. My dog goes on at least 5 walks per day, with poops after meals. Doggy breakfast is at 7:30, dinner at 5:30. For boarded dogs my building is very dog friendly with a fenced courtyard. There are 2 dog parks within a 5 minute walk and several

“Candiance took amazing care of our elderly, attention-addicted cat while we were out of town, making sure she got her meds in and sending regular updates. She was also very gracious when our flight was delayed by several hours and we were late getting back.”

“Zuleyka was amazing! Spontaneous, very communicative and she handled the pups so so well! Thank you for taking such good care of them! I would recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible dogsitter :)”

“Yasmin was an absolutely joy. She watched our home, two small dogs and cat for a weekend and provided exceptional service and frequent updates. We will definitely be booking again!”

About: I’m currently a mom to a 5 year old chiweenie who I’ve raised since he was 3 months old :) additionally, I’ve fostered dogs of all kinds and have become great at adapting to each dog’s individual needs. From puppies to seniors to special needs dogs, I’ve cared for them all. I am very flexible Friday through Monday. I work from home Mondays and Fridays, and I am home on most weekends and would be happy to care for your pup. My apartment is very safe and generally “proofed” for dogs. I have a crate for my own dog and am happy to crate your dog if needed.
“Jamys was a total star! I asked her to managed by energetic high energy girl so that I could be free to do a bridal gown fitting for a friend’s daughter, usually a somewhat anxious event. Jamys was calm and friendly. She was an expert at handling my excitable dog. I recommend her highly!”

“I could not be happier with Sara! This was my first time having a non-family member watch my dog while I was out of town and I was so nervous about it. I looked at a lot of options before deciding on Sara and am so glad I did - Sara stayed at my place and with Sasha for two weeks. She took such wonderful careful of Sasha and sent me multiple pictures and updates every day. Sasha clearly loved her and Sara treated her like her own, making me feel so at ease and letting me enjoy my vacation without worrying about her. On top of that, she left my apartment just as clean as I left it. I will definitely be using Sara in the future and am so relieved to have found someone I can trust! Could not recommend Sara more.”

“Bryant was excellent with my senior dog. He was incredibly experienced in terms of my dog’s specific needs, including diaper changes and being mindful of her dementia traits. He was also very communicative and offered multiple updates throughout the day.”

“Ariana stayed in my condo while I traveled for three weeks. The photos and video she sent showed me Orion was well-loved and happy. On my return, my condo was clean and orderly, so I know she took good care of my home as well.”

About: I love caring for and being around animals. I have more than 5 years of experience caring for pets. They’re precious and deserve tender care. I have cared for dogs and cats through check ins, walks, and house sitting. I have mostly watched dogs or cats 3-4 or older. I have recently watched a kitten who is turning 1 soon and had a lot of fun so I’d be open to doing it again. I am a full time student and have a job outside of this. Pet care would be more during my weekends and free time. Seeing animals when not in class or working is such a reward! My current availability is Friday after 3 PM, anytime Saturday and Sunday, and before 5 PM on Monday. I have pet sit overnight in homes for dogs and cats. I learn quickly and take notes to assure I care for any pet well. I like to ask clients about what they typically do with their pet in a day that their pet will expect outside of feeding and walking time. This might include playing with toys once they come home for 15 minutes or treats after walks. I love doing pet phone calls for clients who want to check in with their pet in real time! A quick FaceTime call can bring such ease to a pet parent and such joy to their pet.
“We'd give 10 stars if that was an option. Alitha did everything we discussed and more. She took care of our Golden Retriever and cat and stayed in our home with them for 10 days. Her daily texts and pictures showed that the animals were happy and well-cared for. It was obvious that she was not only caring for them, but really spending time with them as her messages were always specific to the personalities and actions of each of them. Our dog takes medication daily, and we had complete confidence in Alitha. When we returned, the animals were calm and happy and the house was spotless. We plan to rebook Alitha again and again. The highest of recommendations to this fabulous, sweet, intelligent sitter.”

“We are happy and satisfied with the three days that Keka has been house-sitting our pawlove Hazel. Sure they had quality time playing around the house and outside during their walk. On top of that she got to provide Hazel with some Training that she needed. We appreciate so much the time she spent with our Hazel. We will surely recommend her to our other paw parent friends and surely it won't be the last for Keka & Hazel.”

Victoria was great! She made it really easy for me and I'm so thankful. Victoria sent pics during her sit and Goose clearly was loving the attention. Another great benefit was how comfortable she was with Goose and how confident that made me feel. She mentioned she's done many years of equestrian work and has developed the intuition and confidence to be be great at handling animals. Highly recommend.

Mo stayed with our senior pup on very short notice when we unexpectedly to travel internationally for a death in the family. She was communicative, flexible, sent lots of pictures, and overall it was a relief to know our sweet boy was in good hands while we were dealing with otherwise difficult circumstances. Would book again!

This was my first time using Noelle to watch both my epileptic cat and my new kitten, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She stayed at my house for the weekend since my cat, RAMMY, needs medication three times a day. Before my trip, Noelle came over so we could go through everything together, including RAMMY’s medication routine. As a self-proclaimed paranoid cat mom, I told her I really appreciate updates, especially since it’s so important that RAMMY gets his medicine on time. She went above and beyond by letting me know every time he received his medication, along with sending pictures and little updates throughout the weekend so I knew both cats were doing well. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were in such caring hands. I would absolutely recommend Noelle to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and compassionate pet sitter, and I’m so grateful for all of her help!

We had a wonderful experience with our pet sitter! She took such great care of Oreo while we were away. She kept us updated with photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear that Oreo was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. We truly appreciate her kindness, patience, and genuine love for animals. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. Thank you for taking such amazing care of Oreo!

Annie was great! She sent us pictures everyday that helped us know Heinz was being taken care of, and always made us happy since we missed him while we were away. Heinz is a very nervous dog and takes awhile to warm up to people, but after about a day, he was asking Annie for belly rubs, a sign he fully trusts someone. We would be very lucky to have Annie watch Heinz again.

Cammie was amazing. She came to meet my pup in advance and took great care of her. Normally Tilly is stressed when I leave but she was completely at ease when I got back and my apartment was probably tidier when I got back than when I left! Recommend Cammie 100%.

Amelia is wonderful!! My cats are so happy and healthy, and my apartment was left completely clean. She was very responsive. I asked a lot of her, because one of my cats was dealing with constipation - Amelia was even attentive enough to pay attention to my cat’s bathroom habits to help reassure me while I was away. I would highly recommend Amelia as a pet sitter!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North Bergen walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North Bergen maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Bergen choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
