“We were so happy to have found Jess. We were apprehensive in leaving our fur baby but she set was able to ease our minds. She followed our care instructions to a tee and sent us updates and pictures throughout the visit. This really helped us to see and know she was taking just as good of care as we would. We couldn’t have asked for anything more.”

“Lisa was very kind and caring with my Junie. She sent me texts and pictures and I was put at ease immediately. I would definitely recommend her and look forward to using her services again.”

“Chulmin & hoyjin took in Thor last minute for us again and showered him with so much love! They brushed him out (which is quite a feat), gave him dental treats and ensured he was pampered to the fullest. They also prepared in advance for his stay by requesting we bring his rain gear knowing ahead it was going to be raining. Yet again, they had impeccable communication and sent lots of pics along the way. They even returned him with one of their toys that he couldn’t stop playing with. 1000% will continue using them!”

“Camila was absolutely wonderful! She kept me updated with photos and videos and took such great care of Winnie. Her dog Milo was also amazing—he and Winnie got along so well and played together perfectly. I felt completely at ease knowing Winnie was in such good hands. I’ll definitely be booking her again—couldn’t be happier with the experience!”

“We had an amazing experience with this dog sitter! They took such great care of our three dogs, showed genuine love and attention, and kept us updated the whole time. It gave us total peace of mind while we were away. We would absolutely use them again—highly recommended!”

“Cynthia did an amazing job looking after my nervous girl while I was gone. I was blown away to see my usually worried pup wagging her tail and sitting by Cynthia’s side when I came to get her! I’m super thankful she made my Elsa feel comfy and safe during her stay.”

“She’s fantastic! Michelle ensures that your animal is loved, care for - takes time to feed and do the routines that your dog has daily. She has a super clean home with an area just for your dog that makes you feel like it’s a doggy hotel! Nameplate and first time sitter certificate was a nice touch. We received many updates of all kinds - videos, pictures and texts throughout her stay. Her own dogs are lovely and kept Lulu active and entertained (she s a puppy so it was great!). We plan on booking her again if available and would recommend her to everyone! Thank you, Michelle!!”

About: Dogs have a special place in my heart. My friends and family have relied on me to take care of their dogs in the past when in need. I treat any dog as if they are mine. I have a two year old Maltese named Henry. He loves playing with other dogs! Your dog will be very happy staying with us! We have a fenced in yard and I work from home so I will be able to take them out for frequent potty breaks and play time. I work from home, so l'll have plenty of time to play with your pups! I'm available for day care and boarding weekdays and weekends. I have a fenced yard and one friendly dog to keep your pet in good company. Dogs will never be unattended or left alone. I am able to take your dog on a walk, if allowed. Because Henry is afraid of big dogs, I can only dog sit small dogs.
“I was a bit skeptical using Rover, and a bit nervous to leave Dilon. Paloma explained the process and was very helpful. I loved that Dilon stayed in good hands and I was able to have peace of mind. Paloma kept me informed of Dilon’s day to day, she would answer promptly to the messages and would also send pictures regularly. Thank you again for taking good care of Dilon.”

“Both Laura and Kevin went ABOVE and BEYOND taking care of our precious girl! Kevin made chicken for her because she wasn’t eating. She needed to be assessed by our vet so Laura picked her up, total travel time was approximately 40 minutes. Words are not sufficient to express my gratitude to them.”

“Ksenia gave our loved and spoiled precious Benny amazing care, attention, and customized approach. We received great communication for all four days consistently and he was well taken care of. Recommend without hesitation.”

“Amazing host! They offered a meet and greet before boarding. During boarding, they shared many photos and updates such as what they’ve played and their appetite. I felt very comfortable having them watch over my dog.”

About: I have over 20 years of experience caring for dogs and cats. I have also cared for other animals like turtles, frogs, rabbits, hamsters and birds. Growing up surrounded by pets sparked a lifelong passion for animal care, and I’ve been caring for them ever since. I used to run my own dog-sitting business in the neighborhood where I grew up. I cared for dogs of all sizes and personalities, providing walks, feeding, playtime, and lots of love and attention. It was a rewarding experience that helped me build lasting relationships with both pets and their owners. I’ve also cared for cats and other small animals, always making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while their owners are away. I understand that every pet has unique needs and routines, and I take pride in providing dependable, compassionate care as if they were my own. As a teacher, I have a consistent schedule that allows me to care for dogs before work, after work, and throughout the weekends. On weekdays, your dog will receive plenty of attention in the mornings and evenings, and if boarding with me, they’ll have the companionship of my friendly dog during the day. I’m also available for overnight stays, boarding on weekends, holidays, and school breaks, giving your pet plenty of love, exercise, and personalized care while you’re away. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or yours, my goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. In my home, pets become part of the family, receiving plenty of attention, playtime, exercise, and affection while maintaining their normal routines as closely as possible. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect both your home and your pet’s routine by following feeding schedules, providing walks, playtime, medications if needed, and lots of companionship. I know every pet is unique, so I take the time to understand their personality and needs to ensure they receive the best possible care. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
“Denise is the best! She has watched Sasha for me a few times now and Sasha always is well taken care of and very happy! She keeps me updated and goes out of her way to make it a good stay!! I would 10000% recommend her to anyone looking for a good sitter”

“Wan and her husband were so kind and loving to my dog Sandy. They have a large fenced in back yard for playing and bathroom breaks. Wan's dog George is very friendly and made Sandy feel welcomed. I will definitely trust Wan to watch Sandy in the future. I highly recommend Wan.”

“Stephanie was an amazing Dogsitter. She kept in close contact and sent lots of pics which helped us feel comfortable and confident that Rosie was being loved and well cared for. We will definitely be using her again.”

“We are very grateful for the wonderful and professional sitter we found through Rover. Trigo was very well taken care of while we were away. Thank you, Kathie, for your dedication and kindness. We will be booking Kathie again!!”
“Very professional and caring! She was amazing with my elderly dog, Tito and took great care of him. She was accepting and knew how to handle older dogs and limitations that may be presented. Her home is very inviting and warm , and she insured he would be just fine. I was relaxed and not stressed at all about leaving him there. Would definitely use her again in the future!”

Allison took great care of my dog, Quinn. Quinn is a senior dog who can be a little anxious, and Allison kept me updated on how she was doing throughout her stay. She also has a fenced in backyard, which Quinn really enjoyed. Thank you for taking such good care of her!

Jamen was great! He had our Doxie for a week during the holidays, and, I had no doubt that she was in great hands. Jamen had set up the house so that Doxie would be comfortable the whole time. Jamen sent pictures and updates, and, responded within minutes when I reached out to him. On top of that, he was flexible when my dates changed. I would work with Jamen again in a heartbeat!

Kristen for the first time, and he felt right at home! They were so kind and easy to communicate with, and I really appreciated the cute photo updates showing how comfortable and happy he was. It’s always a little nerve-wracking leaving a senior dog, but I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. I’ll definitely be booking with them again — highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
