About: I've taken care of two family dogs who became family members, one of which I rescued from a neglectful owner. I was a hands-on dad to my son, and as a single parent knew well how to feed and change him and care for him when he was sick. As a senior, I've the experience and "seasoning" to know what's important, whether it's an infant or child or a family dog, and how to see to it that the one in my care is well cared for, happy, and loved. Since the condo development where my wife and I live doesn't allow dogs, I take special pleasure in spending time with them at every opportunity. I come from a long line of dog lovers on my dad's side, and proudly carry on that tradition. I'm a retiree who does part-time volunteer work, both hands-on with elementary-school-aged children and legislative and policy advocacy on behalf of folks with intellectual and developmental disabilities. My other major activities are staying in shape and learning a foreign language. These part-time gigs, and the fact that my wife works part-time, leave me enough time to do some pet care. I cannot care for pets in my home, or for that matter have a dog, because the condo development where I live does not permit dogs. I care for dogs in their owner's homes, following their owners' lead, so to speak, and according to their owners' directives. Fortunately, this means that the dogs I care for, who know their way around their own turf, do not need to adjust to new environs. As a guest myself, I am naturally inclined to treat the home where I find myself with extra care and respect, more so than I would my own home.
About: I’ve always had cats and dogs throughout my adult life. I had a dog until 10 years ago, which passed away due to old age, and recently adopted a rescue dog resembling the one I lost. I have also been raising cats since they were kittens, and my current cats are now 9&10 years old. I genuinely love both cats and dogs and care for them with patience, kindness, and responsibility. I pay close attention to each pet’s individual needs, whether it’s playtime, walks, quiet companionship, or following specific routines. Friends often trust me to care for their pets when they are away, knowing I genuinely love animals and provide attentive care. Ensuring your pet’s comfort, safety, and happiness is always my top priority. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. For the past six years, my husband and I have been running our own business from home in Paramus, which gives me a very flexible schedule. I already own and care for two cats and one dog at home, so my days are structured around feeding, walks, playtime, and companionship. Because I work from home, I’m able to freely adjust my time to care for your pet—whether that means regular check-ins, longer visits, walks, or simply spending quality time to make them feel comfortable and secure. I offer drop-in visits and dog walking services in my clients’ homes only. During drop-in visits, I carefully follow your pet’s routine, including feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning for cats, potty breaks, playtime, and companionship. For dog walks, I focus on safe, enjoyable walks suited to your dog’s energy level and needs, always paying close attention to their behavior and surroundings. I make sure your pet feels comfortable and secure while you’re away. Since I work from home with a flexible schedule, I can adjust my time to provide reliable visits and walks. I’m also happy to send photo and text updates after each visit so you can have peace of mind.
About: My journey with caring for pets finally began in my undergraduate career at Rutgers University. Previously, I had helped to care for my aunts pets and took care of my own until we had to give him away. My favorite thing about taking care of your favorite family member is how I can see them adapt to a new environment and warm up to me. It’s beautiful to know that we can all connect w animals in an intimate way. I have a park right next to my house and a wooded area & fenced field where they can run around freely. Making sure they are having a good time and are healthy is my main priority. Dog loving is what I was made for.
“Cheryl is so kind and wonderful with dogs. We found it thoughtful of her to meet Willow on her work break before walking her for the first time later that day. I highly recommend Cheryl, you know your dog will be lovingly cared for.”

“Jen was absolutely fantastic! She was professional, was clearly knowledgeable about puppy behavior and always managed to tire Toby out and making sure he went to the bathroom so I didn’t have to worry.”

Mia is absolutely amazing! My dogs adore her and get so excited every time she comes over. She has such a calm and loving energy that instantly puts them at ease. She is incredibly reliable, kind, and trustworthy, qualities that are so important when it comes to caring for our kids. She also house sat for us while we were away, and everything went perfectly. The house was spotless, and our pups were happy and well taken care of. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We will definitely be hiring Mia again and recommending her to all our friends. She truly goes above and beyond.

At my request, Gail arrived earlier than scheduled to pick up Simon. Simon was greeted with hugs and kisses! Unfortunately, Simon didn’t do well in the warmer temp and returned home panting heavily. Gail’s genuine concern for Simon was evident. She stuck around to make sure he was OK. Simon is OK!
