“My Topey Boy had a great time with Enis today!!! Arrived on time, friendly, personable, and confident in handling a Pit. My dog is laying on the floor right now recovering from a great workout. Just what the vet recommended. See you again Enis!!”

“I have to start saying I’ve never hired a dog walker before, it was hard to trust someone else to take care of my pup. I had to find someone urgently a couple of days ago and Lillian was super accommodating with her needs and our requests. She was able to go to our place right away and kept us posted on every step of the way. She seemed pretty nice and I wanted to meet her as we’ll need more help with our pup in the future. We met a couple of days after and I have to say she was super sweet and loving towards my pup. I was happy she remembered all the things I told her about our dog. She even walked to the park and stayed with us for a while. She made it easier for me to trust in this apps. I highly recommend her.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for years through family and friends, and I’m always the person they trust to watch their pets. I genuinely love animals, and dogs tend to feel comfortable with me very quickly. I have experience with small and medium-sized dogs, and I’m comfortable adapting to different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I’m especially patient with more anxious or sensitive dogs. I have an anxious dog of my own, which has taught me how to read body language, build trust, and create a calm, safe environment. I’m very attentive and detail-oriented, so I always follow care instructions closely, whether it’s feeding schedules, medications, or specific routines. I can also help reinforce basic training like leash manners and structure during walks. My goal is to make every dog feel cared for, understood, and happy while giving owners complete peace of mind. I treat every dog like my own and always keep communication open and consistent. I’m available Thursday through Sunday, with the most flexibility on weekends. On Thursdays and Fridays, I work part-time and am home by early afternoon, so I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and evening care. I prioritize safety, trust, and clear communication above everything. I follow each pet’s routine closely and take the time to understand their individual needs, behaviors, and comfort levels. I have a fenced yard for safe outdoor time, as well as a very friendly Shihpoo who is used to being around other dogs. I always supervise interactions and make sure every dog feels comfortable and secure. I also have a pet camera at home for added monitoring, and a baby gate if a dog feels more comfortable in a smaller, more confined space. I’m especially mindful with more anxious dogs, as I have one of my own, so I understand the importance of patience and creating a calm, safe environment.

“Diane was such a friendly and communicative walker. She walked my 10 month old golden retriever puppy while I was away for a business trip. She walked him twice a day and left comments every single time and sent me pictures . I would definitely be using her services again and highly recommend her ?”

About: I started my experience dog walking 2 years ago for a professor’s friend in Winchester, Virginia. Twice a week, I would walk her hyper pups. She then recommended me to her father, whose dog I began walking twice a week as well. From there, my mini business boomed through word of mouth. I began dog sitting in people’s homes as well for multiple individuals for varying time spans. Most of the dogs I interacted with were seniors and required extensive care. However, all dogs owners loved and recommended me to others! I still walk the original dogs and add in others as my schedule allows with two other jobs. I am sad to leave my extensive clientele in Winchester, but I am moving back to New Jersey for graduate school and excited to meet new puppy friends!! For the summertime, I am incredibly flexible with nothing planned. I prefer weekly walks / drop ins, but also like sitting as well. In August, I start physical therapy school at Columbia University so my availability will decrease but I’d be willing to provide services on nights / weekends. During breaks, my availability will open up again! Whenever walking / sitting, I respect the owner’s rules, no matter what. I long to maintain utmost cleanliness and adherence to routine as physically possible. I am also very communicative and honest, building trust with my clients.

About: I moved to New Jersey three years ago, and since then I’ve been caring for pets for multiple families through drop-ins, walks, and overnight stays. I make sure each pet is safe, loved, and well taken care of—whether that means giving medications, going on walks, or spending time playing in the backyard while you’re at work, on vacation, or visiting family. I specialize in both puppy and adult dog care, including high-energy and “quirky” personalities. No matter the pet, I believe all they really need is patience, consistency, and love. Over the past few years, I’ve built experience providing reliable, attentive, and efficient care, including overnight stays where I treat every pet like my own. Welcome to The Zoomies Club 🐾 — where every pet is family, energy is embraced, and care always comes with love. My goal is always to give you peace of mind knowing your pets are safe, happy, and cared for like family. I currently have open availability, so I’m flexible and ready when you need me. Just send me a message and I’ll do my best to fit your pet into The Zoomies Club schedule 🐾💕 I care for pets in their own home by keeping things super familiar and stress-free. I follow their normal routine—meals, walks, litter box care, and medications if needed—and make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, and comfort while you’re away. Whether it’s zoomies or chill time, I make sure they feel safe, loved, and at home 🐾💕
About: I’m 19 years old and have been around dogs for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I’ve cared for Pit Bulls, Chihuahuas, and a Yorkie, so I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and personalities. I genuinely love animals and enjoy spending time with them, whether that’s going on walks, playing, giving them attention, or just keeping them company. I know how important pets are to their families, and I’ll care for yours the same way I care for my own. I currently work part-time at a bird store, where I help care for a variety of birds and assist customers with their pet care needs. Working with animals has made pet care a big part of my daily life. I have experience feeding, cleaning habitats, monitoring animal health, and making sure pets receive the attention and care they need. Growing up with pets and working around animals every day has taught me how important patience, responsibility, and compassion are when caring for them. I am not currently offering overnight or in-home pet sitting services. However, during walks and drop-in visits, I make sure pets are cared for as if they were my own by providing fresh water, exercise, playtime, and plenty of attention. I always follow the owner’s instructions and prioritize each pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being.
About: I have walked dogs for the last three years, on and off, ranging all the way to 100 pounds. I also have experience with blind and deaf dogs. I have my own 4 year old 60lb husky as well! I am currently on summer break from my job, so I am available seven days a week until August 15. There is a chance that day may change. I always make sure I feel comfortable taking the dog outside. I have the strength to keep bigger dogs away from others if necessary. I also am capable of running with dogs.
“Emma did great with my dog, understanding that he needed a little time to warm up to a stranger (he needed me to go along with them for the first time) and his quirks. Would book with her again!”

About: Hi my name is Marisol, I’ve interacted with so many dogs and various breeds over the years. Dogs are such pure creatures and I enjoy being around them and playing with them. I’ve had my own dogs before and truly enjoy seeing dogs in a loving home. I am currently in college, and all my classes are night classes. A morning and afternoon schedule will be the best fit for me to walk and do drop-ins for your beautiful pups! I will respect your home as if it were mine and keep your pet happy and comfortable, while keeping them entertained and/or relaxed in their own home.
About: I had a cat for 6 years and plenty of experience handling and taking care of dogs - I volunteered in an animal shelter with dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens for 4 years. I am 5’7” and relatively strong so I am also able to handle larger dogs (no pulling that leash away on my watch!). I have 3 years of experience as an EMT, so in case of an unexpected accident I am able to provide emergency first aid if necessary (helping a pet often involves the same basics as helping a person!) I have a lot of availability at the moment. Weekdays and weekends are nearly always free, especially for walking and check-ins. I love to be outside and walk/run, especially with dogs. I don't have any pets living with me right now, so I will be free to focus on yours. I am active and love taking dogs for a walk or run anywhere and for however long they need.
“Nicole was fantastic with our dog and couldn’t recommend her more. She went above and beyond. I highly recommend Nicole for your next dog sitter needs, you won’t be disappointed. Personally I’ll be coming back to Nicole every time we need a puppy sitter.”

About: I've taken care of my neighbors dogs since age 10. I have also cared for my relatives dogs, cats and rabbits when they were away. I will offer a special rate for first time customers! I am currently working from home, so I am very flexible. I enjoy taking very long walks as a part of my daily exercise so I would love to take your pet along for the adventure. I have a small fenced back area for your pet to enjoy. I live in a townhome that is spacious and comfortable for a pet to be boarded. I work for from home so I have plenty of time to care for pets. I have flexibility to play and take your pet on nice walks. I have a spacious home and small fenced yard where your fur baby can play. Your loved one will have plenty of space to roam!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Elmwood Park
I can't say enough about Elizabeth! She was wonderful! I was so worried about finding a dog walker, and she eased my fear. She's definitely confident when it comes to larger breed dogs, the size and look of my dog did not faze her! The initial meet and greet went well! And I think it helped with the relationship between her and my dog.. I'm so relieved that we have someone that we can count on! And someone that my dog likes, and it comfortable to go on walks with! Thanks Elizabeth!! See you next time! 😉

Daisy trusted Michelle the moment she met her and is so happy when she drops in for her visits. She is very attentive to her needs, responds quickly to my messages and is flexible with me. She has a very calming demeanor to her which is exactly what my anxious Daisy needs. Highly recommend!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
