“I can't say enough about Elizabeth! She was wonderful! I was so worried about finding a dog walker, and she eased my fear. She's definitely confident when it comes to larger breed dogs, the size and look of my dog did not faze her! The initial meet and greet went well! And I think it helped with the relationship between her and my dog.. I'm so relieved that we have someone that we can count on! And someone that my dog likes, and it comfortable to go on walks with! Thanks Elizabeth!! See you next time! 😉”

About: I've loved animals my whole life and have been around cats in one way or another for most of my life. I grew up with multiple cats and I've been taking care of my cat Cole since adopting her in 2018 as a kitten. I've been volunteering at a cat shelter for several years as a socializer and love visiting as many cats as I can when I'm there (I always stay longer than my shift). I love them dearly, always want what's best for them, and would treat your cat with the same care concern I'd treat for my own. I'd be happy to provide drop-in visits for feedings/etc or to provide your cat with some play/social time! I love meeting new cats and taking in their unique quirks! While I've had a lot more exposure to felines, I've spent time and cared for several dogs as well and would gladly care for yours while you are away. I've had a lot of good experiences with them - I’m good pals with my landlady's pitbull and my dad’s chocolate lab! I’ll give your dog lots of attention and be mindful of their personality, especially during walks. I’ve had some anxious ones that can get a bit testy when they see other dogs during walks and I’ve handled them well. I'm between jobs at the moment, so I am fairly flexible in terms of availability with some notice. Sunday is my day for volunteering, though I can swap my shift if need be to provide your pet with the care it needs. I'm happy to arrange for shorter/longer visits on single/recurring basis. Can assist with feedings, playtime or just hang out and provide them a loving lap! Also happy to provide photo/video updates of your fur babies to help put your mind(s) at ease!
About: I’ve been caring for dogs for years through family and friends, and I’m always the person they trust to watch their pets. I genuinely love animals, and dogs tend to feel comfortable with me very quickly. I have experience with small and medium-sized dogs, and I’m comfortable adapting to different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I’m especially patient with more anxious or sensitive dogs. I have an anxious dog of my own, which has taught me how to read body language, build trust, and create a calm, safe environment. I’m very attentive and detail-oriented, so I always follow care instructions closely, whether it’s feeding schedules, medications, or specific routines. I can also help reinforce basic training like leash manners and structure during walks. My goal is to make every dog feel cared for, understood, and happy while giving owners complete peace of mind. I treat every dog like my own and always keep communication open and consistent. I’m available Thursday through Sunday, with the most flexibility on weekends. On Thursdays and Fridays, I work part-time and am home by early afternoon, so I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and evening care. I prioritize safety, trust, and clear communication above everything. I follow each pet’s routine closely and take the time to understand their individual needs, behaviors, and comfort levels. I have a fenced yard for safe outdoor time, as well as a very friendly Shihpoo who is used to being around other dogs. I always supervise interactions and make sure every dog feels comfortable and secure. I also have a pet camera at home for added monitoring, and a baby gate if a dog feels more comfortable in a smaller, more confined space. I’m especially mindful with more anxious dogs, as I have one of my own, so I understand the importance of patience and creating a calm, safe environment.

About: What sets me apart is my experience caring for animals of all ages and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. Last summer, I independently took care of my friend’s four dogs for an entire month, which included overnight stays and house sitting responsibilities. The dogs ranged from 1 to 10 years old, so I’m comfortable handling both energetic younger dogs and older dogs who may need extra patience and care. I’ve also been taking care of my own dog since I was 8 years old, giving me years of hands-on experience with daily care, walks, feeding, and attention. In addition, I have experience caring for less than week-old kittens on my own, which taught me how attentive, gentle, and responsible I need to be when caring for animals. During the school year, I attend school, but I have a very flexible schedule with my classes and plenty of availability before and after school as well as on weekends. During the summer, when I plan to do more pet sitting and dog walking, my schedule will be very open and flexible. I’m able to work around pet owners’ needs and can provide walks, feeding, playtime, check-ins, and overnight care at a variety of times throughout the day. I’m very reliable, responsive, and committed to making sure pets stay on their normal routines and feel comfortable while in my care. I currently do not offer boarding or pet sitting in my own home due to having pets of my own, but I’m very comfortable caring for pets in their own home where they feel safest and most comfortable. I always make it a priority to keep pets on their normal routines by following feeding schedules, walks, playtime, litter box cleaning, medication instructions if needed, and giving them lots of attention and care while their owners are away. I have experience caring for both cats and dogs of different ages, including nursing less than week-old kittens and independently caring for four dogs for a month while house sitting. I understand how important trust and safety are when leaving your pets with someone, and I always make sure pets are supervised, comfortable, and well cared for at all times.
About: I've taken care of my neighbors dogs since age 10. I have also cared for my relatives dogs, cats and rabbits when they were away. I will offer a special rate for first time customers! I am currently working from home, so I am very flexible. I enjoy taking very long walks as a part of my daily exercise so I would love to take your pet along for the adventure. I have a small fenced back area for your pet to enjoy. I live in a townhome that is spacious and comfortable for a pet to be boarded. I work for from home so I have plenty of time to care for pets. I have flexibility to play and take your pet on nice walks. I have a spacious home and small fenced yard where your fur baby can play. Your loved one will have plenty of space to roam!
About: While I haven’t worked professionally as a pet sitter, I’ve cared for my own dog for the past 6 years and my cat for over a year. Being a pet owner has taught me the importance of patience, responsibility, and giving animals the love and attention they deserve. I’m comfortable with feeding, providing fresh water, taking dogs on walks, cleaning up after pets, playing with them, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, and I’m happy to follow your instructions to provide the best care possible. I will treat your pets with the same love, care, and respect that I give my own. Pet care is already part of my daily routine since I care for my own dog and cat every day. I make time for feeding, fresh water, walks for my dog, playtime, and making sure both of my pets are happy and comfortable. Because I’m used to caring for animals consistently, I’m able to include additional pet care into my schedule and follow each pet’s individual routine and needs. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or yours, I’ll follow your instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, medications (if needed), and any special routines. I’ll make sure pets always have fresh water, plenty of attention, and a clean, safe environment. I understand that every pet is different, so I’ll take the time to make them feel comfortable and secure. I’ll also provide updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I will treat your pet with the same care, patience, and love that I give my own dog and cat.
“Lillian is amazingly attentive and walks my dog like a pro. She is there on time and can be there early if needed. I would recommend her to any friend of mine in need of a dog walker!”

“I’m so glad I found Enis! He is an incredible and reliable dog walker who cares so much for my dog! Always communicating with me and giving updates throughout. I always know Riggs is in the best care!”

About: Hi my name is Marisol, I’ve interacted with so many dogs and various breeds over the years. Dogs are such pure creatures and I enjoy being around them and playing with them. I’ve had my own dogs before and truly enjoy seeing dogs in a loving home. I am currently in college, and all my classes are night classes. A morning and afternoon schedule will be the best fit for me to walk and do drop-ins for your beautiful pups! I will respect your home as if it were mine and keep your pet happy and comfortable, while keeping them entertained and/or relaxed in their own home.

“Jonathan was able to help us last minute during a work emergency and we couldn’t be more grateful! Followed all instructions perfectly (there’s a lot just to get into our apartment sorry)”

About: I had a cat for 6 years and plenty of experience handling and taking care of dogs - I volunteered in an animal shelter with dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens for 4 years. I am 5’7” and relatively strong so I am also able to handle larger dogs (no pulling that leash away on my watch!). I have 3 years of experience as an EMT, so in case of an unexpected accident I am able to provide emergency first aid if necessary (helping a pet often involves the same basics as helping a person!) I have a lot of availability at the moment. Weekdays and weekends are nearly always free, especially for walking and check-ins. I love to be outside and walk/run, especially with dogs. I don't have any pets living with me right now, so I will be free to focus on yours. I am active and love taking dogs for a walk or run anywhere and for however long they need.

“Diane was such a friendly and communicative walker. She walked my 10 month old golden retriever puppy while I was away for a business trip. She walked him twice a day and left comments every single time and sent me pictures . I would definitely be using her services again and highly recommend her ?”

About: I have walked dogs for the last three years, on and off, ranging all the way to 100 pounds. I also have experience with blind and deaf dogs. I have my own 4 year old 60lb husky as well! I am currently on summer break from my job, so I am available seven days a week until August 15. There is a chance that day may change. I always make sure I feel comfortable taking the dog outside. I have the strength to keep bigger dogs away from others if necessary. I also am capable of running with dogs.
About: I absolutely love caring for animals. I used to be a receptionist at a vet clinic and love meeting new pets. I am a dog owner myself, which has allowed me to learn more about dogs and their individual needs. I have experience administering oral medications. I have also learned to figure out if something is wrong, or if they need medical care. I will make sure to care for your pet as if it was my own. I know it’s hard leaving our pets so please let me know what I can do to make it as comfortable as possible for you and your pet. I recently moved to New Jersey and I’m currently unemployed. I am a mom to a toddler, and I’m unable to do any long term overnight stays, but may make an exception if it’s only a day. I can feed your pet, administer medication, take them on walks or just simply hang out so they are not lonely while you are gone.

I will ensure your pup has a super fun time, depending on his or her personality and what he or she likes to do (whether he or she prefers to relax or play). Daisy trusted Michelle the moment she met her and is so happy when she drops in for her visits. She is very attentive to her needs, responds quickly to my messages and is flexible with me. She has a very calming demeanor to her which is exactly what my anxious Daisy needs. Highly recommend!

Yong was amazing!!! I’m always nervous about finding a new dog sitter/walker but Yong immediately put us at ease and my dog loved him. He was super dependable, gave lots of updates, always punctual and clearly loves animals and wants to take care of them. Will definitely reach out to again!

Izabella was great! My Penny does not always warm up to people easily but immediately liked Izabella. She was patient and gave off positive and calm vibes - which is exactly what Penny needed. Izabella sent detailed feedback and pictures during and after the walk. Really looking forward to booking her again soon!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
