“Kathryn has been our dog walker for a few weeks and I am so happy with her! She is great with Jax, he looks forward to his weekly walks with her. She is very communicative, always on time, affectionate with him and it is clear that she has a true love for pets. She also includes detailed notes at the end of every walk with multiple pictures. I highly recommend her!”

About: I've been pet sitting/dog walking for friends and neighbors since high school. In addition I have worked at a doggy daycare, where I cared for dogs as little as chihuahuas to large German shepherds. I genuinely love animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. My priority is aways to ensure they feel safe, happy and well cared for while their owner is away. I have a very flexible schedule, allowing me to provide reliable and consistent care whenever you need it. I'm available for walks and drop- in visits throughout the day, including morning, afternoons and evenings. Your pets safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always try to take the time to make sure your dogs feel safe and cared for at all times. I am attentive on walks and always prioritize safe handling practices.
“Jen was absolutely fantastic! She was professional, was clearly knowledgeable about puppy behavior and always managed to tire Toby out and making sure he went to the bathroom so I didn’t have to worry.”

About: Ever since my family got our first dog, I absolutely fell in love with them. I offered to always watch after my friend’s dogs whenever their family would travel. I would walk them, play with them, and always send cute updates about their pup! I am currently unemployed this summer so I will have plenty of time to play and walk your pups! I’m typically available any day of the week and I am also open to same-day scheduling. If I am not available I will let you know as soon as possible! Having dogs myself, I have learned how to take properly care for them and understand the importance of keeping them safe, happy, and comfortable. I always follow owner’s instructions, make sure pets have plenty of food and water, exercise, and lots of attention!
“Cheryl is so kind and wonderful with dogs. We found it thoughtful of her to meet Willow on her work break before walking her for the first time later that day. I highly recommend Cheryl, you know your dog will be lovingly cared for.”

Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or just relaxing with company, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I’ll care for them as if they were my own. Hi! I’m a dependable pet lover offering drop-in visits and dog walks in the Bergen County area. During visits I can provide feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, walks, playtime, medication instructions (if needed), and plenty of attention so your pet stays comfortable while you’re away. I have experience caring for family and friends’ dogs of different sizes and personalities, and I’ve also raised three cats since they were kittens (my oldest is 7 years old). Living with cats has taught me to pay attention to body language, routines, and the little details that help pets feel safe and relaxed. My schedule is currently very flexible, which allows me to spend quality time with each pet rather than rushing between visits. I’m happy to follow your pet’s usual routine and send updates and photos so you know they’re doing well. I understand that inviting someone into your home and trusting them with your pet is a big decision. I aim to be reliable, communicative, and gentle with every animal I care for, and I’ll treat your pet with the same patience and care I give my own. About: I treat my dog as if he were my own biological son and I will gladly make sure your furry friends are as comfortable as possible when they’re with me. I have experience with medium to small dogs, old dogs, puppies, and cats with asthma. My love for animals goes so far back that I wrote in my Elementary school year book that my dream job was to be a Dog Walker when I grew up! I am currently in between jobs and have the ability to be more present and available for any animal needs throughout the day/week. If I were to find full time employment it would be remote work, so either way, I am always available to your furry friends ☺️ I want to keep your little ones on their usual schedule, doing things exactly how you typically do things. I will stick to any snack or food guidelines you have and will happily help with any medications or special needs required. I am very patient and understand that all dogs have different personalities just like us. My hope is that we will have some fun and get some daily exercise at the same time.
“Peter is an enthusiastic and considerate pet care provider! He did an excellent job walking our large dog, taking the time to learn about her tendencies and needs, making sure to accommodate her allergies and health issues. He’s also very prompt and very polite. Will absolutely hire him again!”

About: I have had dogs my whole life. I grew up with a German Shepard, Corgi and Setter. Presently we have a rescue named Layla that we saved and love 💗. I have taken care of my friends and family’s pets for years; dogs, cats, rabbits, Guinea pigs and hamsters. And even an Amazon Parrot. I’m available on the weekends. Can take you fury baby on walks and play dates. Can feed and give medication if needed. Available to spend time with senior dogs if walks aren’t an option. I can walk/play and feed your fury baby. Any specific requests will accommodate. Can set up doggie play dates. I am willing to visit and sit with senior dogs that may have restrictions.
About: I don't believe in one size fits all. Before I start, I'll work with you to create a detailed plan tailored to your pet's specific needs, routines. Beyond feeding and potty breaks, I dedicate time to play. You'll receive regular updates, including photos and videos. I have a proven track record of caring for pets. I understand that leaving your furry loved ones can be stressful, and my goal is to provide you with complete peace of mind, knowing they're in the most loving and capable hands Having a new baby actually creates an ideal scenario for pet sitting. Since I'm already home all day, my schedule is incredibly flexible and allows for consistent, attentive pet care throughout the day. Your pet would have their own designated, safe, and comfortable space within my home, away from any potential stressors. I also have a secure, fenced yard that would be utilized for regular supervised potty breaks and play sessions. I would maintain a consistent routine for feeding, exercise, and rest, minimizing disruption for your pet.
“Maia’s soooooo great and helpful! She showed up on time and is great with our puppy! He could be shy but warmed up to Maia very quickly - he couldn’t wait to see her again. Maia also took pictures and was responsive and detailed about the puppy - already planning to book again in the future. Definitely recommend!”

“Jing was wonderful with Bailey. He was a little nervous today because it’s only a few days in our new apt, so he don’t finish his breakfast. Jing sat with him and hand fed him a couple morsels, helping him to feel comfortable and then he finished the rest on his own. I highly recommend Jing and will definitely use her again!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - New Milford
Bryndon is great! Our dog usually barks at everyone that comes in the house. She did not bark at all with Bryndon. She met him at the door and after a few sniffs, sat down so he could pet her! Bryndon was very engaged in learning about Miracle's personality and quirks. He was engaged with her and at the same time maintained full control of her (she can pull at times). Bryndon was also very attentive to everything we shared with him about Miracle and we are very confident that Miracle will be in great hands on her walks with Bryndon.

Jing was wonderful with Bailey. He was a little nervous today because it’s only a few days in our new apt, so he don’t finish his breakfast. Jing sat with him and hand fed him a couple morsels, helping him to feel comfortable and then he finished the rest on his own. I highly recommend Jing and will definitely use her again!

Karen was absolutely wonderful. She was very friendly, always showed up on time, and truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. She stayed in constant communication with both my wife and me, which gave us real peace of mind. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience — 10/10 would absolutely recommend Karen to anyone looking for reliable and attentive care.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
