Pet care experience

Your fur babies are in good hands!

Doggie daddy since 13 yrs old, but after 12 years of Hvac and plumbing found the job to be a bit of backbreaker, literally after a work injury. I see it now as a blessing in disguise as it has granted a glimpse at family life and opportunity for a independent lifestyle career while servicing, and more importantly, having unique relationships the locals either 2 or 4 legged through barks, haircuts, or my handy services . Although I do not specifically train dogs in sessions, I’m very familiar in most training techniques and will work with family to make future walks easier and comfortable. As a dog parent myself of four , I understand the stress that comes in having to care for your companions. So I generally go above and beyond for the love of animals. My fur baby, Frida, is somewhat known at the Ridgewood Park in both small and large play pens. She’s a high energy 20lbs mix breed. She has met some of the other dogs I’ve worked with, as well as walked and played with them. Boone was welcomed into family during start of COVID. He is too energetic at times. This too is possible if you’re looking for a friend for your dog to socialize with, that’s if they’re compatible. I take extra precautions when introducing dogs together using a boundary so dogs can read each other’s body language correctly without the interference of a leash that can cause miscommunication. I recommended meeting outside of a home setting. I enjoy playing and exercising with dogs. Some dogs even enjoy relaxing to a nice massage on the grass if they allow it. I don't mind helping with training efforts that the owner is working on. I've cared for my siblings' and friends’ cats and dogs while they've been away on vacation and/or if they are caught up with too much school/work since kindle school. I've been provided additionally instructed care to those that have undergone recent surgery. I also carry a first aid kit in case of a scrape, nail injury, or splinter during walks. In addition: as a former hvac/plumbing tech, I've encountered all types of pets alone in their home to whom I have even walked, fed, and played a few dogs out of love for some of my old regular clients. My knowledge in this field has been very helpful in house emergencies such as a leaky pipe or refilling a steam boiler. Thanks for taking the time to read and looking forward to making new fur friends. God bless.

Erick took both of my dogs out while I was gone and brought them back happy and cared for in a way you can feel. He knows dogs well and you can trust that they are truly seen, safe, and in good hands.

Schedule

I do mostly independent work. Either it be cutting hair or caring for pet companions, I try to keep my schedule full. I’m currently attending 8-10 dogs per week snd have a decent clientele barbering. My wife will be home most of the time to care for day care and boarding services.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 2 dogs, has cats
No children present
Dogs not allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 2-4 hours

Safety, trust & environment

Backyard is 600 sq ft with fenced yard. There is additional entrance to backyard fence similar to a dog park because door dashes really concern me. Additionally every door leading to outside has additional dog gate. I have multiple Yi cameras for observations for moments I step out. For transport, I have different types of car holders depending on your dogs behavior. When it comes to interacting with my dogs or others, there are lots of steps. Interacting thru a gate, then with me as a barrier, then careful observation for dogs to be dogs. My wife will not have dogs interact with each other when I’m away.

Pets

A typical day

Walks/ drop in: Walks will usually be around their neighborhoods on their normal route. Routes can be adjusted depending on the weather, or dogs behavior/health. Absolutely no yanking on from my end!! I makes efforts in correcting small pet peeves so that future can be enjoyable. I normally use 2 leashes just in case, but do not prefer to use a choke collar unless by request by owner. Every dog is different in how they play: fetch, tag, toy chase, tug of war, and even wrestle (of course no chomping down, "love nibbles" are tolerable). Some dogs just require a little bit of love through cuddling. Lastly, at the end of the walk/visit, I tend to train simple commands (such as paw, stay, sit) if given the time. I very much encourage “pack walks” to improve social interactions and patience. It’s not for all dogs but is available depending on the circumstances. For house sitting, I have experience in dealing with emergencies with gas, water, fire, and electricity in my past line of work. So my basic tools will be on me just in case. In addition, I grew up in a poor/violent neighborhood where I learned to become aware of my environment as well as practice surveillance. This too will be applied to your home to best assure you peace of mind while you are away. Lastly, I do have a doggie monitor capable of viewing from my cell phone. Dog boarding/ Day care:I have a finished Sunroom where I spend a lot of time in that is about the size of a one car garage, available for dogs staying overnight/ during day that I can easily check up. Dogs are allowed access to most parts of the home, but not for playing to avoid floor wear and tear and have limited “comfort” ( not allowed on couches). On addition, I have a camera watching/recording at all hours. Sunroom has a HEAVY glass sliding door which they can watch out of into the road if they’re alone and in need of visual stimulation. It has ceramic flooring and heated during winter months if needed. The ceramic floor also provides a cool floor for dogs to rest on, along with a refreshing cross breeze between the front and back doors with assistance of the ceiling fan of needed during hot seasons. Dogs are allowed on the couch and free to play in sunroom. The sunroom also directly connects to the backyard, that is fenced in. The dogs will never be alone outside. In addition, if your dog is not compatible with my dog or not friendly with other dogs, your dog(s) can easily be separated without having an intersecting each other. There is also the “Doggie Den” down in the finished basement also with tiled floor. My dog would stay here if pet owner wants dogs separated or vice versa but are allowed anytime. This is where we hang during the really hot days since the sunroom is not in the area with central air. This is also where dogs can be dogs nearly free of all restrictions. All dogs will be crated or fenced at times of other dog walks, running errands .T I generally like to leave a rolling treat ball and play classical in background so they don’t become bored too quickly while I step out for a few. Though my wife is home most of the time, so she will be caring for boarding and daycare service most of the time. Because of her petite size, we would only take on small-to-medium sized dogs or wells behaved dogs. I have 2 XL crated available as well as a 4x4 pen (both a 3 foot and 4foot tall) that can be in use with crate for crate training. -Please request play pen and crates ahead of time. Beds are NOT included. I recommend leaving a garment or shoe of yours for a scent of dog suffers separation anxiety. **common misconception: walks are not part of the boarding or sitting experience. Potty breaks, feedings and drink , clean up, and time to exercise with self, me, or with others in backyard, sunroom, or dog den. Mandatory walks are an additional cost on top of stay. Overnight stays may incur additional cost or house sitting. ** Dogs/pups that are not house trained, have special needs, suffer from high anxiety will have to be priced as pups. Prices can be modified if your pup if well trained. Please understand that more time and effort is needed (as well as supplies) to care for these dogs, so dogs will be priced at puppy cost. Prices can be modified if you supply ALL the necessary supplies.

I would like to know their aggression level, feeding habits, social behavior (dog.people, children), off leash behavior, training habits, walk/exercise routine, play habits, their dis/likes, any medical issues, prey hunt instincts, and any helpful specifics with the dog. In addition I do feed my dog naturals snacks (fruits and veggies) throughout the day, as well as eat them too :p, and like feed them too if you as the owner are ok with it.
