“I was a bit skeptical using Rover, and a bit nervous to leave Dilon. Paloma explained the process and was very helpful. I loved that Dilon stayed in good hands and I was able to have peace of mind. Paloma kept me informed of Dilon’s day to day, she would answer promptly to the messages and would also send pictures regularly. Thank you again for taking good care of Dilon.”

“Keisy was great dog sitter and very flexible. Due to schedule changes, we were not able to pick her up in time and she was more than happy to watch her for another day. She sent videos/pictures updates and asked what we are ok with our dog doing like getting on the couch, where she sleeps etc. Would hire her again. Thanks!!”

“Karla was wonderful. Great communication, super fast replies, oodles of pictures sent, and just a really great vibe. Ramona clearly had a wonderful time during her stay and she came home clean and happy. We will not hesitate to book again with Karla!”

“Excellent sitter! Amazing communication before and during Moira’s stay. Caring and compassionate towards Moira. I would recommend to everyone to use Michelle is excellent you will not be disappointed. What I loved the most is all the photos and videos sent to me. Moira. Looked happy and well taken care of. I highly recommend Michelle!!!”

“Melissa did a great job with my puppy Callie! She made it a very easy and simple process with dropping her off and picking her up. I felt very comfortable with leaving her knowing she was going to receive such great care! Melissa sent plenty of updates which I loved and made me feel even more comfortable knowing Callie was doing great! We will definitely be back!”

“Kevin and his wife are amazing! They were able to watch Sadie for a long weekend even though it was last minute. Sadie is super shy and they were so patient with her while she took her time to warm up. Having Bubbles there helped her so much and they became absolute besties! Overall I felt really good knowing that Sadie was safe and comfortable with them :)”

“We would give 10 stars if we could! Tricia had our Labrador Retriever/Catahoula Leopard mix Lenny for a little over a week and it was the first time we had ever left him anywhere. At our first meeting, it was clear that Tricia has a tremendous amount of experience and know-how when it comes to dogs, and I knew immediately that we were in great hands. She calmed our nerves and assured us that she would keep us updated while we were away. She helped our guy settle into a routine quickly and she did an extraordinary job handling his food issues (we sent pre-made table food for her to give him). While we were away, she was an excellent communicator and sent us various pictures of him during different times of the day. He looked so happy that we were afraid he wouldn't want to come home! When we picked him up, he was happy, healthy, clean, and showed obvious affection towards Tricia. We are so incredibly relieved that we found her to watch Lenny if and when we need to travel without our boy. With gratitude, from Laura (Lenny's Mom).”

“Carol is an amazing pet sitter! Her care was exceptional, and she made communication so easy with adorable photo updates. My dog clearly had a wonderful time with her. She's professional, reliable, and truly warm-hearted. Highly recommend!”

“This was the first time I was boarding my almost 13 year old anxious rescue dog. I was quite nervous but Lauryn eased my mind from the meet and greet a few weeks before. It was obvious how much she cared for dogs. My Shiloh was with Lauryn for 9 nights and did so well. Lauryn sent me pictures everyday and it was clear Shiloh made himself at home and was well cared for. The 9 nights included an unexpected night due to a flight cancellation. Lauryn was flexible and gladly cared for Shiloh for another night. Lauryn's home was very nice and accommodating for dogs and she is in a safe residential town. I know Shiloh misses her already and I look forward to having Lauryn sit for Shiloh again.”

“They were extremely accommodating with our pick up and drop off schedule. I have used river maybe five or six times in the past, and that last time I use them I had a very bad experience with poor communication and people were so polite and had a beautiful property and kept in constant communication with plenty of pictures and when it was time for me to pick up my dog, we had a lot of traffic and we’re over an hour late and they were happy to oblige. I will definitely leave my stellar with him anytime and I plan to leave her with them in the future anytime I need a sitter. They sent me lots of pictures. They even went as far as printing out some pictures for us, and they gave Stella a little bandanna like she would have when she left a groomer. They were very polite and had a great backyard, and my dog was very happy when I picked her up, so I know that they treated her well. They are definitely an A+ sitter. I highly recommend them and I have used the multiple times was good and bad and I had nothing but good things to say about them.”

“Highly recommend Teresa. She took amazing care of Coco providing regular updates, photos, and plenty of love. Coco came home happy and well cared for. I’ll definitely book with them again!”

“Moonyoung and Sunhyung were great with Ziggy! It usually takes her a couple days to get used to a new environment, and they were patient, sent updates and pictures and provided a caring home. It gave me great peace of mind while away that Ziggy was being well taken care of :)”

About: I grew up with both dogs and cats, and caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. I have hands-on experience caring for dogs belonging to friends, family members, and clients—including dogs with anxiety, especially while their owners are traveling. Many of these dogs had previously stayed in large commercial boarding facilities where multiple dogs share the same space, which often increased their stress and anxiety. I’ve seen firsthand how much of a difference a calm home environment and personalized one-on-one attention can make. I am also certified in American Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid, so I’m prepared to respond in case of an emergency and provide attentive care for your pets. I focus on patience, consistency, and gentle, loving care to help each dog feel safe, comfortable, and secure. With dedicated attention and companionship, I’ve watched anxious dogs gradually become more relaxed and confident—sometimes they even seem reluctant to leave! :) I’m home full-time to care for your pup. This means your dog will receive plenty of attention, regular walks, and consistent, loving care throughout the day. I have the time and flexibility to focus on your dog’s individual needs, ensuring they feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for during their stay. I keep my schedule flexible, but I only care for one dog at a time to provide the best possible experience. Because of this, spots can fill quickly—especially during holidays—so please plan and book in advance. Located in a quiet, friendly neighborhood, my home is designed to provide comfort, security, and plenty of room for your dog to relax and play. Your pup will enjoy a park-like backyard—nearly half an acre—fully fenced for safe exploration and outdoor fun. Whether they love to run, sniff, or simply lounge in the sun, there’s plenty of space to feel at home. In the summer, I also set up a dog-friendly swimming pool so they can cool off and have some extra fun. I share my home with a very friendly 9-year-old Black Lab who is gentle, well-socialized, and enjoys calm companionship with other dogs. To ensure every dog gets the attention, care, and comfort they deserve, I typically host only one dog at a time (with a maximum of two during holidays). This allows me to focus on your dog’s individual needs and create a low-stress, personalized experience. Your dog will be treated like family here—safe, happy, and well cared for every step of the way.
“Moody is a difficult dog sometimes and Monica and Kelvin seemed to have done a great job with him. It was our first time boarding him and he seems just the same as when we left him, no issues at all and Monica and Kelvin were very responsive and attentive.”

About: I have owned dogs most of my life, always showering them with the love and care they deserve. Now, I want to do the same for your pups! I am available most days during the day, weekends included. My schedule is extremely flexible, so I should almost always be able to accommodate your requests. I have a fenced-in yard and a friendly dog, so your dog will be housed safely, and will have a four-legged friend to play with. I take my dog on frequent walks and would be excited to take yours along with us.
“John was very tentative to our dog . We loved his positive energy . We can tell he's a true animal lover . He was so easy going and flexible when we had to change our drop off off time last minute . Love how him and his son made our dog feel loved :) Photos were adorable of her he sent ! Thanks so much :)”

“My normal sitter was already booked and happened to find Andrew who had availability and local . My golden is a high energy pup who is a lot to keep up with at times. Andrew took him out for runs and even rollerblading in order for Coby to burn out his energy. He kept me up to date while I was traveling and answered any questions I had. Overall great experience for my pup and I will book again the next time I’m out of town.”

“Enis was absolutely lovely and the dogs were SO HAPPY. Enis sent pictures everyday and updates, and was just a complete joy to work with. I can’t thank him enough for making this so easy and carefree. I’m a super anxious dog owner and he made it so simple.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Glen Rock
We had such a great experience with Juan. This was our first time leaving Teddy with them and Juan made us feel very comfortable. He took great care of Teddy and sent us pictures and updates which we really appreciated while we were away. It was so reassuring to see that Teddy was doing well and being well cared for. We’re very thankful to Juan and would absolutely feel comfortable leaving Teddy with them again.

Allison took great care of my dog, Quinn. Quinn is a senior dog who can be a little anxious, and Allison kept me updated on how she was doing throughout her stay. She also has a fenced in backyard, which Quinn really enjoyed. Thank you for taking such good care of her!

Laura and Kevin were a great fit for my dog. They spent lots of time outdoors which is her favorite place to be. She's an older dog and not use to staying with people she doesn't know. On top of that, she was having intestinal issues and they still happily took her. They kept us updated with lots of check ins and pictures. We will definitely choose them again!

We couldn't have asked for a better boarding experience for Cody with Ankita. From the moment we dropped him off, it was clear that he was being welcomed into a warm and caring home. Cody had an incredible time playing with their dog and absolutely loved spending time with their 5-year-old son. What truly set this experience apart was the way Ankita and her entire family embraced Cody as one of their own. He wasn't just being watched—he was genuinely cared for, included, and loved as a member of the family. Throughout his stay, Ankita kept us updated with thoughtful messages, photos, and wonderful videos, which gave us tremendous peace of mind while we were away. Seeing how happy, comfortable, and engaged Cody was made it clear that he was receiving exceptional care and attention. When we picked him up, he was relaxed, happy, and clearly had a fantastic time. We are incredibly grateful to Ankita and her family for the love and care they showed Cody. We would wholeheartedly recommend Ankita to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive, and truly exceptional pet sitter!!
Yeisa is the best and so sweet! Unfortunately while I was away on my birthday trip in Dominican Republic, my other sitter had mentioned she couldn’t take care of Moki. Yeisa being my life saver went and picked up Moki in less than a two hour notice and has treated my dog with the upmost respect. God bless you Yeisa! No issues whatsoever, and she will cater to your dog and its needs!

This was my first time leaving my cat with a sitter and I couldn’t have been more at peace knowing she was so happy and cared for. Sydney gave regular updates throughout the day with lots of pictures. I could tell my cat was so content and had a mini vacation while I was gone which made me feel less bad for leaving her for the week. Would highly recommended Sydney to any pawrents! :)

Raymond took very good care of our elderly dog and sent us pictures every day. We were happy with Raymond's communication with us. Unfortunately, the old dog got sick and had to be picked up but none of this was Raymond's fault, just an old dog who doesn't like change in his routine.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
