“Melissa and her entire family were great. Our highly energetic Australian Shepherd had a wonderful stay. Melissa sent us updates including pictures and videos. Bailey was walked and had play time with several other dogs. We had great confidence in leaving our dog with Melissa and we would highly recommend her to anyone looking for care.”

“Alarie and her family were absolutely wonderful with our dog. From the moment we met them, we felt completely at ease leaving him in their care. They created such a warm, loving environment for him, and it was clear throughout his stay that he was well cared for. Alarie was highly responsive and shared frequent updates and beautiful photos throughout his stay, which we really appreciated. We’re so grateful to Alarie and her family for treating our pup like one of their own. We would absolutely recommend them and would be very happy to have our pup stay with them again!”

“Lola enjoyed another stay with Aeli while we had to be out of town. The drop off and pick up is always smooth. Aeli provides us with daily photos of Lola enjoying her walks, play and relax time at her house. We have been so very happy with the experience and know that Lola has an amazing place to stay when we need to be out of town. We will definitely book again when we need. Thank you Aeli!!!!”

“Of course! Here’s a polished 5-star review you can use: ⸻ 5 Stars – Amazing Experience with Pam! Pam took such wonderful care of our dog, Ernie, while we were away. From the moment we met her, we could tell she truly loves animals and treats them like family. She was incredibly attentive, communicative, and made sure Ernie felt comfortable, happy, and loved. We received regular updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. When we returned, Ernie was relaxed, happy, and clearly had been well cared for. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Thank you, Pam, for treating Ernie like one of your own! We can’t wait to book with you again.”

“This was our first time leaving Hazel & Audrey. Teresa was wonderful and so accommodating to all our puppies needs. She kept us updated on their visit with great pictures that showed they were happy and well taken care of. Her home is a great setup for taking care of dogs- especially Doxies with little legs. It made our family trip more enjoyable knowing our pups were enjoying themselves as well. Thank you Teresa.”

“Priscilla is a gem! She took such great care of our cavapoo Oliver, sending us pictures and updates throughout his stay. We could relax on our trip knowing Oliver was in such capable and loving hands. We would not hesitate to book again!”

“Sujanna is an amazing person clearly cut out for the job that she does. She took amazing care of Rebel and was very communicative with Rebel’s daily activities. She sent pictures and videos detailing day’s events and best of all, Rebel was clearly so happy with her. I will not look elsewhere if I need a sitter again. Thank you so much Sujanna.”

“This was the first time we used Rover and Jennifer. Our experience with both was great. Jennifer was so caring and Judge had a great time while there. We would definitely use her again and recommend her as well.”

“Marisol was awesome! She was loving and fun for my 9-year old golden. She communicated and I can’t recommend her more than this because it’s my max recommendation.”

“I booked with Carol for boarding my dog. She was fantastic! She took very good care of my dog and adhered to feedings, walks, play time, and all the fun things my dog loves to do. She communicated well with me and provided pictures and updates each day. I can tell my dog enjoyed his time with her. If I need to board my dog again, I will definitely be booking with Carol again.”

“We left our little girl Violet, a very loved 5 yo Lhasa Apso, in the care of Sandra and San this past weekend. From the moment Sandra and I met, I could see how loving and caring she was for her own adorable pup, Penny. We did a meet and greet and Violet and Penny got along beautifully! We knew Violet would be in good hands. Throughout the weekend, we received pictures and we could see just how comfortable and happy Violet was! When it was pickup time, all her belongings were together and packed for home. We felt comfortable, confident and excited to find a place we can trust for Violet when she can’t be with us! We highly recommend Sandra and San! Your pups will thank you for it too!”

“Eleanor is awesome!!! I reached out to her for an emergency to keep my 5month old GSD pupp for a day. She was kind enough to keep him and took every good care of my pupp.. I highly recommend her. My pupp loved her place and secured backyard is a blessing in disguise”

“Karla was amazing! She recently took care of my German Shorthaired Pointer, Olive, and I couldn’t have been happier. It was clear that Olive was in great hands, and I felt completely at ease knowing she was so well cared for.”

“Oliver loved staying at Ksenia's. Her place was clean and welcoming and he felt right at home. She is a great communicator and sent lots of picture updates. He can't wait to go back!”

We left Reggie in Ankita’s care for two weeks while we were abroad. Since then, she’s also been helping us with doggy daycare. She kept us updated throughout the trip, sending regular snaps and videos that really helped ease our nerves. Ankita is an excellent communicator—she’s very careful with the puppies and respectful toward their parents. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for doggy daycare or boarding. Thank you so much, Ankita!

Mi was caring; provided outstanding care to Lily. She was very attentive and supportive regarding Lily's needs. Mi sent us updates along with videos and pictures of Lily's day. We were able to enjoy our vacation knowing Lily was in good hands. For our next vacation, we would definitely use Mi again.
We had such a great experience with Juan. This was our first time leaving Teddy with them and Juan made us feel very comfortable. He took great care of Teddy and sent us pictures and updates which we really appreciated while we were away. It was so reassuring to see that Teddy was doing well and being well cared for. We’re very thankful to Juan and would absolutely feel comfortable leaving Teddy with them again.

Laura and Kevin were a great fit for my dog. They spent lots of time outdoors which is her favorite place to be. She's an older dog and not use to staying with people she doesn't know. On top of that, she was having intestinal issues and they still happily took her. They kept us updated with lots of check ins and pictures. We will definitely choose them again!

This was my first time leaving my cat with a sitter and I couldn’t have been more at peace knowing she was so happy and cared for. Sydney gave regular updates throughout the day with lots of pictures. I could tell my cat was so content and had a mini vacation while I was gone which made me feel less bad for leaving her for the week. Would highly recommended Sydney to any pawrents! :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
