“Marcy was very kind and loving she treated my Lexa like she was her own. she was always sending updates. my lexa gets shy and won’t eat and she was very patient with her. my dog loves her and i will for sure be coming back for her to watch her again.”

“I can't imagine having a better experience with a dog sitter. We boarded our older puppy (he's also big and goofy) with Marisol and Co. for 8 days and she went above and beyond any expectations a person could have for caring for a member of their family. From the meet-and-greet to the pickup at the end of our dog's stay, Marisol was in touch providing caring, thoughtful and reassuring pictures and information. We got pictures and updates daily of my dog enjoying outdoor time in their big yard, on walks (and runs!) with the family and resting and relaxing in their comfortable home. Marisol and her family clearly know dogs and have patience and a gift for bonding and connecting with animals. My dog is young so I know he is a bit more work than a more sedentary dog and I so appreciated that Marisol got that. I feel so lucky to have found what I think is the best people possible to look after my dog. I will use their help in the future!”

“Tricia was absolutely wonderful with our pup, Lani! This was our first time booking with her, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She clearly has excellent knowledge when it comes to dog introductions and made sure Lani felt comfortable from the start. Her yard is fantastic, spacious, super clean, and thoughtfully designed with a shaded sand pit and a dig zone that Lani loved exploring. We also really appreciated the photo updates throughout the stay! When our flight was unexpectedly canceled, Tricia was incredibly accommodating, even on such short notice. That flexibility meant so much to us. We’re so grateful for her care and would definitely book with her again!”

“Katherine was a great dog sitter for my Emmie. She communicated daily with texts and videos. Emmie has anxiety and was very comfortable with Katherine. I would recommend her if you are looking for a caretaker for your pet who is caring and always keeps you in the loop. 😊”

“My miniature schnauzer had a great time with Rhinesca’s dogs, he seemed to be having the time of his life when they met, running around her yard. Daily communication and photos. We’d be happy to leave Tux with them again. Recommend!”

“Christina and Nick watched our large Rottweiler for 6 days. Christina provided very helpful and detailed updates multiple times per day. Meet and greet, pick up, and drop off were all agreed upon and followed. Wonderful hosts - thank you!”

About: I have two siblings with a rescue dog each and I have been the go-to auntie to dogsit for them for years. Anytime anyone’s need to go on a trip, Auntie’s got them 💪. I work from home and have a flexible schedule so I can give them the attention, the cuddles, the walks, and the treats they need to be absolutely cared for. I work a remote job from 9-5. It’s not demanding so I have lots of flexibility. I will do walks in the mornings and evenings and can fit in a fun one in the afternoon for a little nature enrichment. Meal times are how the dog parents want. They can have access to my furniture and bed. I see myself as their auntie and they will be treated with the best love and care. My apartment is right next to a train so there will be loud train noises every few hours. I’m hoping this doesn’t spook the babies but please keep that mind.
“Best choice ever! I left my four month old Cavapoo Mylo with Jenelle and he absolute loved his stay with her! Bring that it was my first time having to leave Mylo alone for two day, Jenelle sent me updates and was patient with Mylo as he is still in training. She gave us the peace of mind that our little pup was happy and well taken care of. Mylo will definitely be coming back soon!”

“Another great stay for my Stormie! A-Class service and every holiday this year I've been traveling to plan my.wedding in 2025, it's been wonderful working with you every time and we still have a few before the ceremony! 😊 💪”

“Randi is absolutely fantastic! Kosmo loves staying with her, and I feel completely comfortable knowing he’s in her care. She takes him on walks, brings him to the park, and gives him so much attention and love. I trust Randi completely and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for someone to care for their dog. I will definitely be boarding Kosmo with Randi every time! Highly recommend! ❤️🐾”

“Leaving Benito for the first time was much easier thanks to Adela. She is such a warm, flexible, and communicative sitter. Benito was clearly very comfortable in her home, which gave me such peace of mind. I’ll definitely book her again!”

We really appreciated that she sent photos and videos every single day — it gave us so much peace of mind. When we picked her up, Chiara looked happy, relaxed, and very well cared for. We had a wonderful pet sitting experience with Carolina ( and Mike ) Very nice people who care deeply about my dogs needs. They were super easy to work with and my dog came home happy and healthy. I would never hesitate to use them again! Thank you both...see you soon!
Katherine was a great dog sitter for my Emmie. She communicated daily with texts and videos. Emmie has anxiety and was very comfortable with Katherine. I would recommend her if you are looking for a caretaker for your pet who is caring and always keeps you in the loop. 😊

Florence was amazing with Enzo! She kept me updated throughout his stay, sent me pictures, and took such great care of him. I felt very comfortable knowing Enzo was in good hands while I was away. He seemed happy and comfortable with her, and I would definitely book with Florence again. Thank you so much for taking such great care of my boy! ❤️🐾

Marisol, John and the entire family are very dedicated pet sitters. They took the time to really understand our pets needs, and did exactly that. It is very comforting to know that while we are away our pets are being cared for and loved as if they were with us. My dog came home happy and content. We would never hesitate to use Marisol and John again! Thank you all for your wonderful care!
Keisy was wonderful! She kept me up to date everyday with messages and pictures, and she was responsive, friendly and kind. She also accepted my request at the last minute, when my other plans fell through, she was a total lifesaver! I would highly recommend her and will be using her again in the future. My pups came home happy, healthy and well cared for.
We left Reggie in Ankita’s care for two weeks while we were abroad. Since then, she’s also been helping us with doggy daycare. She kept us updated throughout the trip, sending regular snaps and videos that really helped ease our nerves. Ankita is an excellent communicator—she’s very careful with the puppies and respectful toward their parents. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for doggy daycare or boarding. Thank you so much, Ankita!

Yeisa is the best and so sweet! Unfortunately while I was away on my birthday trip in Dominican Republic, my other sitter had mentioned she couldn’t take care of Moki. Yeisa being my life saver went and picked up Moki in less than a two hour notice and has treated my dog with the upmost respect. God bless you Yeisa! No issues whatsoever, and she will cater to your dog and its needs!

This was my first time leaving my cat with a sitter and I couldn’t have been more at peace knowing she was so happy and cared for. Sydney gave regular updates throughout the day with lots of pictures. I could tell my cat was so content and had a mini vacation while I was gone which made me feel less bad for leaving her for the week. Would highly recommended Sydney to any pawrents! :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
