“Desi and Marilyn were great with my goldendoodle and my sister’s cockapoo. The dogs spent a week while we were on vacation. Desi sent daily updates and they were really good in introducing our dogs to their dogs gradually. Our dogs are only one year old and this was their first time away from us. A positive experience!”

“We are so pleased with the care our dog received while staying with Laura and Daniel. They treated our dog with kindness and compassion. We are beyond grateful for your wonderful service. Thank you.”

“We left our dog for 3 days. We had constant updates from Aeli, pictures and how he was doing. We was absolutely 💯 perfect satisfied how this stay was handled. Definitely will use her again.”

“Momo had a great time with Michelle and Delilah! Michelle has been super flexible and understanding with me and responds incredibly quick. Delilah was a great pal for Momo and he came back happy as ever”

“Siram and Rekha are a blessings to my family. Caliber my Golden Doddle is my whole world and the minute I met Siram and Rekha we bonded and I feel comfortable I was leaving Caliber in the best care and his 2nd home. Caliber gets along well with Milo. As long as they would have Caliber when I need a second home Siram and Rekha is my only option. Thank you both.”

“Marisol was awesome! She was loving and fun for my 9-year old golden. She communicated and I can’t recommend her more than this because it’s my max recommendation.”

“Keisy was great dog sitter and very flexible. Due to schedule changes, we were not able to pick her up in time and she was more than happy to watch her for another day. She sent videos/pictures updates and asked what we are ok with our dog doing like getting on the couch, where she sleeps etc. Would hire her again. Thanks!!”

“Marcy is great! She treats my dog like her own and Maya is always excited to see her and her family. She is also very communicative and sends updates on how Maya is doing.”

“Florence is a sweetheart and took great care of Paco. She sent daily updates with adorable pictures and videos of my pup. 10 out of 10! Will definitely book with Florence again!”

“I couldn't have asked for a better experience with the dog sitters who took care of my two furry companions. Their daily picture updates were a delightful touch that kept me reassured and connected throughout my time away. It was evident that they genuinely cared for my dogs' well-being, as each snapshot captured their happiness and comfort!”

“Britney was fantastic with our girl, Sydney (14 month old F Cavapoo.) I was able to book her stay with short notice and Britney was very quick to respond, both during the booking & the stay. Sydney is a velcro dog & received all the snuggles she is used to getting at home while staying with Britney & her family.”

“I had a fantastic stay. Zuleyka, went the extra mile for me, from making modifications to my dates which was an inconvenience to her. She gave me updates throughout the days he was there. I would definitely recommend and be a repeat client.”

“Mickey was great! His entire household was very welcoming and he understood our senior dog’s needs. He was great at keeping us up to date with pictures and texts and made sure Duke was comfortable. Highly recommend!!”

“Orso had a wonderful time with Caitlin and Georgia! Usually when we pick him up from a sitter he jumps right into our car but this time he tried to go back in with Caitlin. She took exceptional care of him, ensuring he got exercise, was well fed, brushed, played and stayed cool. We feel very comfortable knowing our boy will be in good hands when we go away later this summer!”

“Enis took very good care of Sophie while we were away for the weekend. He has a very calm and caring demeanor. He sent some pictures and was very responsive to my texts. I was a little nervous leaving her because she is a diabetic and needed her insulin injections at meals. He was able to give her the shots as instructed. She seemed very happy when I came to pick her up. Definitely recommend and will visit again!”

“Amanda and her husband Max took such great care of our two dogs while we were away for a weekend! Amanda sent frequent updates, lots of pictures, and I could tell our dogs felt right at home! Would definitely recommend Amanda for any care needs!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - North Haledon
This was Honey’s very first Rover stay, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Pam. She was warm, kind, and communicative throughout Honey’s stay, and the updates and photos meant so much to me. It was obvious that Honey was loved and cared for as if she were one of Pam’s own. I came home to a very happy little dog, which tells me everything I need to know. I’m so grateful we found Pam and wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional, loving care for their pet!

We left Reggie in Ankita’s care for two weeks while we were abroad. Since then, she’s also been helping us with doggy daycare. She kept us updated throughout the trip, sending regular snaps and videos that really helped ease our nerves. Ankita is an excellent communicator—she’s very careful with the puppies and respectful toward their parents. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for doggy daycare or boarding. Thank you so much, Ankita!

Mirasol is the best! They had a big fenced yard and a pool. The dogs were pampered and they had so much fun. One of my dogs even cried when Mirasol left after dropping them off. I got videos/photos and updates of our dogs while we were on vacation. I highly recommend them. Now I have a peace of mind knowing my dogs have a great place to stay when we travel.

Yeisa is the best and so sweet! Unfortunately while I was away on my birthday trip in Dominican Republic, my other sitter had mentioned she couldn’t take care of Moki. Yeisa being my life saver went and picked up Moki in less than a two hour notice and has treated my dog with the upmost respect. God bless you Yeisa! No issues whatsoever, and she will cater to your dog and its needs!

This was my first time leaving my cat with a sitter and I couldn’t have been more at peace knowing she was so happy and cared for. Sydney gave regular updates throughout the day with lots of pictures. I could tell my cat was so content and had a mini vacation while I was gone which made me feel less bad for leaving her for the week. Would highly recommended Sydney to any pawrents! :)

Raymond took very good care of our elderly dog and sent us pictures every day. We were happy with Raymond's communication with us. Unfortunately, the old dog got sick and had to be picked up but none of this was Raymond's fault, just an old dog who doesn't like change in his routine.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
