“Yesenia took excellent care of my five-year-old French Bulldog, Lewis. I’d give 6 stars if I could. I’m thoroughly satisfied with her service and highly recommend her for any pet care needs you may have.”

“Kun, his wife and their pup Som were incredible hosts to Thor! They were amazing communicators, consistently kept you updated, and were extremely mindful to ask about any health concerns, allergies or tendencies. Thor was very sad to leave them but he will definitely see them again! They also provided us with the cutest Polaroid photo of him and Som! Thank you both so much for allowing Thor to stay with you!!”

“My husband and I recently moved to the area and had to find new sitters for our boy Sonny since we were going on vacation for a few days. THANK GOD we found Kathy & Ben, they were amazing. From the meet and greet all the way to when we picked him up, my husband and I felt that Sonny would be in great hands. They have a beautiful home and know how to make your pup feel at home. They were very responsive and were constantly sending us update and photos/videos. They even gave us a cute little report card about Sonny's stay. When I picked up Sonny, I think he wanted to stay with them haha. We will absolutely be using Kathy and Ben again and we highly recommend that you do as well.”

“This is the second time I’ve booked with Elizabeth and Oleg and will continue to use them anytime I visit my family on the east coast and need a sitter. They’re trustworthy, communicative, and my dog now gets excited to go stay with them.”

“Words can’t explain how thankful I am for Xunzi boarding my senior dog for a few days. Not only did she accept my last minute boarding request, but she also extended the boarding no questions asked after my flight was cancelled and I was stranded in another state. She followed all of my instructions, sent tons of videos/pictures of Honey throughout the visit and took care of Honey with lots of love. I’ll strictly be booking with only Xunzi from now on. Thank you!!!”

“I had my 1 ½ old morkie with Suely this week for 3 days and the experience was quite good. It was my first time using Rover.com and Suely made me feel quite comfortable and at ease during our interview meet. She sent me pictures and updates during my trip. I will certainly book Suely again in the future.”

“Our dog Sig stayed with Darien for three nights, and we were very impressed! Her communication was excellent—she kept us updated throughout the day with lots of photos of Sig’s activities. On top of that, she is a certified groomer, and as a courtesy for his first stay, she returned Sig freshly bathed and wearing an adorable bandana. Sig seemed very happy and well taken care of during his time with her. We are extremely satisfied and would absolutely recommend her dog sitting services!”

“Michelle I thank you so much for taking care of my fur baby while I was away. Per the pictures I know she has a great time even though I wasn’t with her. Thank you thank you thank you. She will definitely be coming back when I book my next trip.”

“Florence is a sweetheart and took great care of Paco. She sent daily updates with adorable pictures and videos of my pup. 10 out of 10! Will definitely book with Florence again!”

“Siram and Rekha are a blessings to my family. Caliber my Golden Doddle is my whole world and the minute I met Siram and Rekha we bonded and I feel comfortable I was leaving Caliber in the best care and his 2nd home. Caliber gets along well with Milo. As long as they would have Caliber when I need a second home Siram and Rekha is my only option. Thank you both.”

“Christian and his family are truly amazing! I left Murphy with them for the second time, and he felt right at home—he ran right in without hesitation. That made me so happy. I received picture updates throughout the weekend, which was perfect. They treated Murphy like he was their own dog, and I can't thank them enough. I really appreciate it!”

“Dee is a gentle, kind, responsible and calm person who clearly loves dogs. In fact I might even call her a dog whisperer after watching our little pug Mae jump in her arms the first time they met. My family and I enjoyed a wonderful two week vacation and at no time were we worried about the well-being of our dog who was safe and well cared for in a happy home, with a great yard. Dee was at all times responsive to our texts and sent pictures every day. We will use her again and again.”

“Django was so happy to spend time with Tracy and Steve and his canine buddies. Tracy and Steve provide excellent care and are very conscientious about sharing photos and anecdotes during Django’s stay. Highly recommend!”

“Karla is amazing!! This is the second time we left our dog under her supervision. She sent us updates every morning and evening which is so great. My dog is paralyzed and needs special attention, but she was so amazing with him. You could easily tell that he loves her. Thank you so much Karla for your patience with Fido!!!! You are THE BEST!!!!”

“Thanks Ankita...They were attentive, reliable, and clearly cared for my dog like their own. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was happy, safe, and well taken care of.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Woodland Park
Desi and Marilyn were awesome. We honestly haven't left Jagger with anyone in a long time and were a bit nervous as he is 10+ years old. But after visiting Desi and a after a few days into his stay we were at ease. They made daily TikToks which were great and responded quickly when we asked how he was doing. You can tell they truly love these dogs. Best of all they are right in the same town as us. He will be back for sure

Yeisa is the best and so sweet! Unfortunately while I was away on my birthday trip in Dominican Republic, my other sitter had mentioned she couldn’t take care of Moki. Yeisa being my life saver went and picked up Moki in less than a two hour notice and has treated my dog with the upmost respect. God bless you Yeisa! No issues whatsoever, and she will cater to your dog and its needs!

Kora was beyond well cared for with Valerie, I could not have been happier she was available. Valerie asked all the right questions to understand Kora and her needs and made her very comfortable. From the 1st pic 2 hours after drop off I could see how comfortable and happy she was. Valerie's communication was great before and during the stay, it's clear she loves animals. If Valerie is available do not hesitate to book her, made me feel comfortable quickly that Kora would be cared for well

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
