“We had such a great experience with Juan. This was our first time leaving Teddy with them and Juan made us feel very comfortable. He took great care of Teddy and sent us pictures and updates which we really appreciated while we were away. It was so reassuring to see that Teddy was doing well and being well cared for. We’re very thankful to Juan and would absolutely feel comfortable leaving Teddy with them again.”

“Betsy took great care of our dog! She sent great daily pictures of what our Max was doing and kept a great schedule with him. At the end of the stay, he even sat by her side. Highly recommend!”

“Funda is just amazing. She took good care of my furbaby even with my short notice. She made it easy for us too as we were all set with our appointment yesterday. The rover sitter I booked last week cancelled my booking at the last hour due to an untoward incident. Funda was all flexible with my need as to her availability for drop off and pick up time. Cuppy had a great time playing in her huge yard with her kids. He felt safe with them. She also sent photos and videos of Cuppy. I highly recommend Funda to be your next dog sitter. She’s just wonderful! We will request her again for our future need. Thank you so much Funda!”

“Orso had a wonderful time with Caitlin and Georgia! Usually when we pick him up from a sitter he jumps right into our car but this time he tried to go back in with Caitlin. She took exceptional care of him, ensuring he got exercise, was well fed, brushed, played and stayed cool. We feel very comfortable knowing our boy will be in good hands when we go away later this summer!”

“Excellent experience! Rocket had a blast and was clearly very well cared for. I loved the photo updates, highly recommend for anyone looking for a sitter who truly loves dogs!”

“Cathy is the absolute Best! My puppy is a very picky eater and Cathy goes out of her way to make sure she eats! I swear my dog was smiling when I picked her up. Best sitter ever! Let's not forget all the pic updates we get ❤️Thank you Cathy!”

“Christina was absolutely amazing! She went above and beyond while watching Kyrie! She sent tons of pictures, kept us updated throughout the day, and made us feel completely at ease the whole time. We trusted her right away, and she really came through for us when our flights were delayed and we needed a last-minute extension. Communication was clear, quick, and super helpful. We’d ask her again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much, Christina!”

“My miniature schnauzer had a great time with Rhinesca’s dogs, he seemed to be having the time of his life when they met, running around her yard. Daily communication and photos. We’d be happy to leave Tux with them again. Recommend!”

“Being a first time Rover subscriber, I was very anxious and worried about leaving my precious babies to someone whom I haven’t mer yet.I went to look at many sitters and their reviews.Michelle understood my queries, her gracious response regarding my trepidations proved what a kind and caring person she is.She sent me photos and videos, kept me updated and treated my babies like hers.Another bonus is her adorable and ever so gentle baby (dog) Delilah who was ever so patient and playful with my babies. My babies were with Michelle and Delilah for 11 days and that was the best decision that I have made.I will definitely come back and ask Michelle to take care of them whenever I’m out of town.Being a furmom herself, she will treat any pets like her own.I can telll my dogs liked her a lot and that makes me feel at ease. Thank you so much Michelle, you are the best!!!”

“Laura and Daniel went above and beyond in making sure my kitten had a great stay. I’m a new cat mom and was nervous to leave him behind but I felt at ease and they made sure to send updates throughout his stay. Very accommodating of schedule too. I would highly recommend them!”

“We can’t be appreciative enough of the amazing care Randi took of Cody while we were away for a week. She made him feel completely at home, and it showed in every update and picture she sent. He looked so happy, relaxed, and comfortable - it certainly looked like he quickly made himself at home, demanding pets and belly rubs! Picking him up, it was obvious he had been well cared for. He spent the whole ride home pouting and longingly staring out the car window. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing he’s in such loving hands when we’re away!”

“Kathy and Ben were such hospitable hosts to our doggo! She is not the easiest puppy to handle, and they were sweet, patient and went above and beyond for her. AJ was well taken care of, and we received so many pictures and updates during our trip. I would absolutely recommend Kathy and Ben to anyone who needs their animal cared for, and we will certainly be using them again.”

“This was our first time leaving our pet with someone outside of our family and I cannot speaking highly enough about the incredible care provided by Erica. She was exceptionally kind and loving to our dog, shared updates and pictures of Livi throughout her stay, and very professional in all communication. We are incredibly grateful to have met Erica on Rover and wouldn’t hesitate to book again.”

Florence was amazing with Enzo! She kept me updated throughout his stay, sent me pictures, and took such great care of him. I felt very comfortable knowing Enzo was in good hands while I was away. He seemed happy and comfortable with her, and I would definitely book with Florence again. Thank you so much for taking such great care of my boy! ❤️🐾

Desi and Marilyn were awesome. We honestly haven't left Jagger with anyone in a long time and were a bit nervous as he is 10+ years old. But after visiting Desi and a after a few days into his stay we were at ease. They made daily TikToks which were great and responded quickly when we asked how he was doing. You can tell they truly love these dogs. Best of all they are right in the same town as us. He will be back for sure

Yeisa is the best and so sweet! Unfortunately while I was away on my birthday trip in Dominican Republic, my other sitter had mentioned she couldn’t take care of Moki. Yeisa being my life saver went and picked up Moki in less than a two hour notice and has treated my dog with the upmost respect. God bless you Yeisa! No issues whatsoever, and she will cater to your dog and its needs!

Kora was beyond well cared for with Valerie, I could not have been happier she was available. Valerie asked all the right questions to understand Kora and her needs and made her very comfortable. From the 1st pic 2 hours after drop off I could see how comfortable and happy she was. Valerie's communication was great before and during the stay, it's clear she loves animals. If Valerie is available do not hesitate to book her, made me feel comfortable quickly that Kora would be cared for well

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
