“Jenny was great with our dig, Riley. She asked lots of smart questions to be sure Riley was getting the best care and staying on his routine. She sent photos and was very accommodating when out flight delay resulted in a later than expected pick up. I highly recommend Jenny and will certainly call on her again.”

“Let me start by saying this was my first time using Rover ever. Andrew was so helpful and reassuring and explained everything to me. Additionally, while I was away he kept me up to date with texts and pictures of Finn. Finn had a great time with Andrew and you can just tell Andrew knew exactly how to best care for my puppy. Thank you so much!!”

“It was great with Danielle - Smooth pickup and drop off, regular updates and pics. Dustin came home happy and we could tell he was very well taken care of Would highly recommend Danielle”

“Gargi & Sourav have been absolutely amazing. One of our furry kids was a bit nervous as I was dropping them off, so we were a bit nervous for them, but they have completely put out worries aside. The provided frequent daily updates on how our dogs were doing, brining up any questions or concerns along the way. Our dogs also really got along with their pets as well which made us happy that our dogs are also making friends. The dog park being right next to their apartment building is also a massive plus that helps with both social and energy levels of our dogs. They had a great stay and we as the owners had a relaxing worry free time. Would definitely book them again.”

“She’s fantastic! Michelle ensures that your animal is loved, care for - takes time to feed and do the routines that your dog has daily. She has a super clean home with an area just for your dog that makes you feel like it’s a doggy hotel! Nameplate and first time sitter certificate was a nice touch. We received many updates of all kinds - videos, pictures and texts throughout her stay. Her own dogs are lovely and kept Lulu active and entertained (she s a puppy so it was great!). We plan on booking her again if available and would recommend her to everyone! Thank you, Michelle!!”

“Thank you so much for taking such great care of Ranger. Not sure he even wanted to come home lol. The pics and videos were very much appreciated. I felt at ease from the moment I dropped him off. I really appreciate your flexibility. I hope you’ll have him back one day ?”

“This was the FIRST time I was able to leave my dogs anywhere and actually not worry or stress about how things may be going. Everything from the house space to the family, it’s all just perfect! And I’m extremely picky! So ya just a great experience in every way. I wish all sitters were like this one. Definitely recommend her and I would gladly pay even more than she charges. Totally worth the peace of mind. 10 stars!!”

“Rebecca and Danny were great with our two dogs - got plenty of pictures and updates and the dogs came back happy and tired from all the playtime with the other pups. Will definitely be back for future stays!”

“Frances took great care of our dog. She works from home so he got a week of full attention. She communicated frequently with pictures and updates. Very nice person and animal lover.”

“Suely took amazing care of our dog. She sent multiple pictures and videos of him during his stay. She was very accommodating. We will certainly use her again!”

“Words can’t explain how thankful I am for Xunzi boarding my senior dog for a few days. Not only did she accept my last minute boarding request, but she also extended the boarding no questions asked after my flight was cancelled and I was stranded in another state. She followed all of my instructions, sent tons of videos/pictures of Honey throughout the visit and took care of Honey with lots of love. I’ll strictly be booking with only Xunzi from now on. Thank you!!!”
“The absolute Best. Best Option, Best Choice, Best People. This is the first time we’ve left our dog with someone outside family, and we couldn’t have found a better option. Rhea and Michael really care.. they have a sincere hospitable and loving way about them that makes them the best choice. They care not only for the pup, but also for the families. A constant flow of photos and texts makes us feel so at ease, while being away. Truly the best !!!”

“It’s so wonderful to find people that have a heart for what they do ESPECIALLY when they are caring for our fur-babies. Desi & Mimi are amazing and everything they do revolves around the dogs being well taken care of & giving them the best experience ♥️ Our Rhaeny is in love with them❣️”

“Rommie was fantastic, easy to communicate with, sent plenty of pictures, and took great care of my pup Lady. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a caring, gentle dog sitter.”

“Highly recommend! Murphy had the best time with Christian! I was super nervous leaving Murphy with someone he didn’t know for a few days, but as soon as I met Christian and his family, I felt instantly comfortable. They were so friendly and welcoming! Christian was awesome with communication — even before I dropped Murphy off, he answered all my questions and made the whole process easy. While I was away, he sent just the right amount of pics and videos of Murphy living his best life, which made me feel so much better. Picking him up was super easy too. Honestly, I can’t recommend Christian enough — will definitely be booking with him again!”

“Evelyn is a great dog sitter! She made sure to regularly update me everyday with many photos and videos. Evelyn and her son also played with my dog Shauna a lot and took her on long walks. I was able to enjoy my trip knowing that she was well taken care of.”

“This is the second time I have left my baby in the care of Tracy (and Steve). They are amazing with him! And their updates and photos/videos let me see how happy he is! Wonderful caretakers of my precious boy ♥️”

“Tricia was absolutely wonderful with our pup, Lani! This was our first time booking with her, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She clearly has excellent knowledge when it comes to dog introductions and made sure Lani felt comfortable from the start. Her yard is fantastic, spacious, super clean, and thoughtfully designed with a shaded sand pit and a dig zone that Lani loved exploring. We also really appreciated the photo updates throughout the stay! When our flight was unexpectedly canceled, Tricia was incredibly accommodating, even on such short notice. That flexibility meant so much to us. We’re so grateful for her care and would definitely book with her again!”

Marcy and her family were so sweet to my boys! I was so nervous leaving my two dachshunds with a Rover for the first time but Marcy was very reassuring, confident, knowledgeable and communicative! I received multiple pictures and updates throughout their stay and I will absolutely be booking again. Thank you for being so good to Otis and Rufus! ❤️

We had a wonderful experience! From the beginning, he made us feel comfortable leaving our dog in his care. He kept us updated, let us know he was settling in well, and it was so reassuring to hear he was hanging out with the other dogs and doing great. You can tell Enis genuinely care about the dogs he look after. We really appreciated the updates, and our dog came home happy and well cared for. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with him again. Highly recommend!

Oscar was SO EXCITED to go over to Pete's house - I swear, he figured out what was happening 10 minutes beforehand, and waited by the back door for us to let him out. He flew into the house without so much of a backwards glance. Oscar spent several hours with Pete and when he came back home, he was happy and exhausted!! Little snuggle bug went right to sleep. Thank you for keeping him busy and happy, Pete!!!
I was a bit skeptical using Rover, and a bit nervous to leave Dilon. Paloma explained the process and was very helpful. I loved that Dilon stayed in good hands and I was able to have peace of mind. Paloma kept me informed of Dilon’s day to day, she would answer promptly to the messages and would also send pictures regularly. Thank you again for taking good care of Dilon.

This was my first Rover experience and it could not have been better. Ashley sent photos of my dog throughout my trip away, so I was never worried. Ashley was incredible, attentive, and so communicative. I would definitely reccomend this service, as well as Ashley, to anyone!

Kora was beyond well cared for with Valerie, I could not have been happier she was available. Valerie asked all the right questions to understand Kora and her needs and made her very comfortable. From the 1st pic 2 hours after drop off I could see how comfortable and happy she was. Valerie's communication was great before and during the stay, it's clear she loves animals. If Valerie is available do not hesitate to book her, made me feel comfortable quickly that Kora would be cared for well

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
