“Megan was super communicative! She took care of my two senior babies and made sure they were loved on and had all of their meds. I've already recommended her to multiple folks. Will use again!”
“Elissa was so great when she house sat for us to watch our cat and dog. She sent plenty of updates and made sure she had all the information she needed, like double checking the feeding schedule and making sure there were no medications to administer. Will definitely see if she’s available the next time we need help with the pets!”

“From start to finish, Gordon did an excellent job. He was right on time, took excellent care of my dog Pepe, and kept me updated with plenty of pictures that truly put my mind at ease. It was clear Pepe was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Reliable, attentive, and genuinely great with dogs. I would absolutely book again and highly recommend Gordon to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter.”

“Andrew was great with Toby and Harley. He kept me updated on how they were doing. Sent photos and videos showing that all was well. Was excellent with Harley the more reserved of the 2. He has care and concern for the pets in hi his care. Both Harley and Toby enjoyed having Andrew as their sitter. I would recommend Andrew !!!!”

“The dog was happy and the place was standing. In the end that's all that matters but a decent person who communicates well with an honest smile on their face and a personality to match makes the whole thing run smoother.”

About: For a little over four years I've been the go-to pet sitter for my coworkers when they go on vacation. I've researched all things related to dogs pretty much from the moment I learned to use a computer because I've spent almost all my life trying to convince my parents to get a dog. Spoiler alert, I was unsuccessful ): but not for lack of trying ("dogs are too big of a financial commitment" according to them... but four kids isn't??? but I digress lol)! Training has always been fascinating to me, it never fails to amaze me how smart dogs are! Overall I just love their energy and how loving they can be, being around dogs is truly therapeutic and does wonders for your mental health! You're so blessed to have one in your life and I would be honored to care for them (: <3 Sunday-Wednesday and Friday I work 7-3 and I’m off all day on Thursday and Saturday! Currently taking a break from school, so as soon as I get out of work I'll be free to devote my time to your doggies (: I live in a big apartment with a home office that I turn into the doggy room essentially although they are welcome to roam throughout the apartment of course! My neighborhood is very walkable (one of my favorite things about where I live) and I’m about a mile and a half away from like 3 parks!
About: Your pet’s new bestie 🐾💛 Experienced, reliable, and fully prepared for zoomies, cuddle attacks, and the occasional “why are you eating that?!” moment 😂 Stress-free care, lots of updates, and all the love your furry chaos gremlin deserves! Pet Care what I enjoy doing FULL time. I recently opened up my own Pet Care business with my partner! Message for availability and flexibility! I provide structured, attentive care with consistent routines, supervised play, regular walks, feeding schedules, medication support, and a safe, clean, low stress environment for pets.
“Breanna is a fantastic pet sitter! She watched Sophia and Valentina over the weekend and exceeded all my expectations. She was attentive, responsible, and kept me updated the whole time. It gave me total peace of mind knowing my girls were in such loving hands. Thank you, Breanna!”

About: I have two pets of my own, a cat and a dog. I know the needs to take care of both of them and would find it easier to handle yours. Worked at a pet hotel for a couple weeks and dealt with a variety of dogs (even cats) and know that each pet can be different and I'm ready to accustomed to your pet to ensure they feel comfortable and safe! I currently work at a nightshift so I would prefer to work during the evening. Depending on my schedule I would be able to work nightshifts on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Wednesdays. My dog is very playful and would enjoy having a bit of fun with yours! My cat is shy to newcomers so it might not interact with your pet.
“Jennifer house sit with our dog for several days and was great to work with. I would highly recommend. When we came home we can tell that our dog was well taken care of and happy. She also took care of the house very well- and went above and beyond for us. She kept us posted and gave us updates on how our dog was doing and what he was up to. Our dog also had a recent minor leg injury and Jennifer was extra careful with him and followed our instructions well.”

“Cassie was such a great sitter, our dogs really loved her and she rolled with the punches of our living situation well! We recently moved across the country and the dogs are still acclimating, she was so patient and sweet with them. Will definitely request her help again in the future!”

About: I loveee animals. I grew up with many pets from cute little bunnies, turtles, lizards, birds, dogs and everything in between. I’m very caring which will show in everything I do. Your babies will be my babies, I promise :) I currently work full-time as an elementary teacher. I’m available for boarding your babes on weekends, and weekdays after 4pm. Sometimes I’m off on holidays and I would board then as well. We will always have a great time. Your babe will be free to roam my apartment under my supervision, of course. I also have a large yard, but will keep him on a leash. I can also crate him or her if you prefer. Either way, we will have tons of fun together.
About: I have had pets for the past decade including a dog, guinea pig, two parakeets, and fish. I promise exceptional care when I am booked. I am currently a college student looking for work part time, I have plenty of free time and would love to be a resource to those who need me. I have worked as a babysitter and cleaner all throughout my years in high school, so I know my way around taking care of a home.
“I cannot recommend Leticia enough! It was evident that she has a genuine love for animals. She spent time with Ollie and Rain and made sure to follow my care instructions perfectly. I received regular updates and adorable photos that put my mind at ease. Her professionalism and attention to detail were impressive, and I truly felt that my pets were in the best hands. I will definitely be using their services again in the future! If you’re looking for a reliable and compassionate cat sitter, look no further!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Clifton
We had Debora stay in our house with our two dogs. She did such a good job that I think our dogs might be sad that their staycation with Debora is over. We got updates and photos every day. The dogs’ schedule was adhered to completely and we feel that they were very well taken care of. Debora is also a very sweet, caring person and we look forward to have her watch our pups again in the future!

Marisol was excellent! Although there were minor communication mistakes, she definitely made the effort to resolve those issues! She was very respectful and kind. Took great care of my home in my absence. Definitely very respectful and kind of other people’s belongings, pets, etc.

I had a great experience with Elissa! She took excellent care of my dog Jake and kept me updated throughout the stay with plenty of photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind. Jake looked happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. It was clear that she genuinely enjoys spending time with animals and treats them like her own. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter!

I wish I could give 100 stars! Kevin is just amazing, he communicates any needs and is so great with all our asks of him. We get plenty of photos where our dogs just look so happy to have him. He walks them daily (we didn’t even ask for that) and sends photos of the cuddles and love they get while we are gone. Our house is always so clean, and he runs the laundry so we don’t have to. He’s literally perfect. Our vacations are just that, vacations, knowing he was here let us enjoy everyday. Thank you so much Kevin!!!

Valerie did a great job taking housesitting and taking care of our animals (dog & cats). The house was in good order and she sent photos and regular reports via chat. We know how our animals are and the reports were right on track with what experience - the good and the moody! - which added a lot of trust on our part. Definitely recommend Valerie!

James was wonderful with Brio. Our much loved dog gets anxious and grumpy when we leave him in someone else's care, so we were delighted to see videos of Brio playing in the yard early in our trip. James was just the reassuring presence Brio needed! We were truly appreciative of his care, and look forward to having him back.

Cannot recommend Izabella more highly! She stayed in our home with our 5 year old Cavachon and within a couple of days they became besties. Izabella took great care of him, and she sent pics a couple times a day and was very responsive via text as well. When we saw a pic of him curled up on her lap, we knew we found a wonderful sitter as that is Sonny's highest compliment. Thanks again, Izabella!
We can't even put into words how amazing Andrea is. We realized at the very last minute that our mom's regular dog sitter wouldn't be avaialable for our yearly vacation. Bella is 15, and has had her share of health issues. We were in such a panic, because we love her so much and didn't want to leave her with just anyone. We booked 3 meet and greets and crossed our fingers. When we met Andrea and all our worries melted away! We canceled the other meet and greets. She was WONDERFUL from the first moment. Bella took to her right away. Andrea just has this way about her, she made Bella, my mom, and us feel comfortable immediately. She was so caring and atttentive. During the trip, we recieved detailed updates, pictures, and videos constantly, and you could tell how happy Bella was in the pictures. It made our hearts so happy. Our sister stopped by to check in during the week and called to say she couldn't believe how incredible Andrea was with Bella. We feel so lucky to have found her, and we give her our highest recommendation!!!!!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Clifton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Clifton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Clifton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
