“Elissa was a great sitter for our 13 week old pup. She took her time to meet and get comfortable with our puppy. She was in constant communication with us throughout the day and sent us pictures and updates on her behavior. We felt really comfortable leaving her in our house and everything was kept neat and tidy. We would absolutely recommend her as a pet sitter.”

“Megan was super communicative! She took care of my two senior babies and made sure they were loved on and had all of their meds. I've already recommended her to multiple folks. Will use again!”
“Gordon is so good with Asher, and an all around great guy to care for my ‘canine kid’ (many thanks)! Would certainly recommend him to folks looking for a caregiver for their beloved pet. ❤️”

“Erin was reliable, communicative, and made the entire experience stress-free. I felt completely comfortable leaving my dog in her care, and it was clear my dog was well looked after. I wouldn't hesitate to book with her again. Highly recommend!”

About: I grew up surrounded by dogs, learning to love each breed uniquely. Our pets truly become part of the family and we must treat them as such! I have experience in potty training, crate training and teaching tricks! I am available for daily walks, days and nights. I am available for boarding Monday - Sunday. I am also available on holidays, please just let me know in advance. My dog, Arlo, is a super friendly Mini Aussie who will also keep your pup company. A fenced dog park is available nearby for them to play and run. I will follow feeding, potty, and medication instructions accordingly.
“The dog was happy and the place was standing. In the end that's all that matters but a decent person who communicates well with an honest smile on their face and a personality to match makes the whole thing run smoother.”

About: I loveee animals. I grew up with many pets from cute little bunnies, turtles, lizards, birds, dogs and everything in between. I’m very caring which will show in everything I do. Your babies will be my babies, I promise :) I currently work full-time as an elementary teacher. I’m available for boarding your babes on weekends, and weekdays after 4pm. Sometimes I’m off on holidays and I would board then as well. We will always have a great time. Your babe will be free to roam my apartment under my supervision, of course. I also have a large yard, but will keep him on a leash. I can also crate him or her if you prefer. Either way, we will have tons of fun together.
About: I have two pets of my own, a cat and a dog. I know the needs to take care of both of them and would find it easier to handle yours. Worked at a pet hotel for a couple weeks and dealt with a variety of dogs (even cats) and know that each pet can be different and I'm ready to accustomed to your pet to ensure they feel comfortable and safe! I currently work at a nightshift so I would prefer to work during the evening. Depending on my schedule I would be able to work nightshifts on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Wednesdays. My dog is very playful and would enjoy having a bit of fun with yours! My cat is shy to newcomers so it might not interact with your pet.

“This was our very first time using Rover, and as extremely overprotective dog parents, we were definitely nervous. But Brad was absolutely amazing from start to finish. He eased our minds with daily updates, complete with photos and videos that showed just how well our dog was doing! We also had a Fi tracker on his collar and it was so reassuring to see how many walks and steps he was getting. Brad took him out so often, even more than our normal routine! Our dog occasionally gets so excited that he’ll throw up if he hasn’t eaten in a while, and when it happened, Brad immediately texted us, cleaned it up, and made sure he ate and drank after. His communication was quick, calm, and thoughtful, which helped us feel totally at ease. It was clear our dog was incredibly well cared for — he got plenty of walks, playtime with his toys, and lots of attention. Honestly, he looked sad when Brad left! Brad also left our home neat and spotless, which we really appreciated. We feel like we hit the jackpot with Brad. We couldn’t have asked for anyone better to take care of our fur baby, and we’d recommend him to absolutely anyone. We hope to book with him again!”

“Jennifer house sit with our dog for several days and was great to work with. I would highly recommend. When we came home we can tell that our dog was well taken care of and happy. She also took care of the house very well- and went above and beyond for us. She kept us posted and gave us updates on how our dog was doing and what he was up to. Our dog also had a recent minor leg injury and Jennifer was extra careful with him and followed our instructions well.”

“Cassie was such a great sitter, our dogs really loved her and she rolled with the punches of our living situation well! We recently moved across the country and the dogs are still acclimating, she was so patient and sweet with them. Will definitely request her help again in the future!”

“HIGHLY RECOMMEND KATE! She was such a pleasure to work with. We had a peace of mind while away of her caring for our cats. She would reach out with any questions, yet more importantly would send photos and videos of her interactions with the cats. <3 <3 <3 She was extra helpful with watering plants, too. Need to figure out our next time away to use her again! :)”

“Rachel was so good with my dog, Kimbo, for an overnight stay. She kept me updated throughout the visit which made me feel very comfortable. She followed the instructions I left for her and even left us a cute note to give us an update on Kimbo. We will definitely reach out again to use her help and would recommend her to anyone! Thanks again!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Clifton
Megan is amazing, she came on time, followed instructions, took Athena out at night and in the morning as instructed, not to mention she stayed up all night with Athena🥹 which was very sweet of her, but not necessary. She sent us updated pictures and gave us a nice little summary before she left the house. We definitely will be booking with her again, thank you so much!!!

We had Debora stay in our house with our two dogs. She did such a good job that I think our dogs might be sad that their staycation with Debora is over. We got updates and photos every day. The dogs’ schedule was adhered to completely and we feel that they were very well taken care of. Debora is also a very sweet, caring person and we look forward to have her watch our pups again in the future!

Marisol was excellent! Although there were minor communication mistakes, she definitely made the effort to resolve those issues! She was very respectful and kind. Took great care of my home in my absence. Definitely very respectful and kind of other people’s belongings, pets, etc.

I had a great experience with Elissa! She took excellent care of my dog Jake and kept me updated throughout the stay with plenty of photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind. Jake looked happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. It was clear that she genuinely enjoys spending time with animals and treats them like her own. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter!

I wish I could give 100 stars! Kevin is just amazing, he communicates any needs and is so great with all our asks of him. We get plenty of photos where our dogs just look so happy to have him. He walks them daily (we didn’t even ask for that) and sends photos of the cuddles and love they get while we are gone. Our house is always so clean, and he runs the laundry so we don’t have to. He’s literally perfect. Our vacations are just that, vacations, knowing he was here let us enjoy everyday. Thank you so much Kevin!!!

Valerie did a great job taking housesitting and taking care of our animals (dog & cats). The house was in good order and she sent photos and regular reports via chat. We know how our animals are and the reports were right on track with what experience - the good and the moody! - which added a lot of trust on our part. Definitely recommend Valerie!

James was wonderful with Brio. Our much loved dog gets anxious and grumpy when we leave him in someone else's care, so we were delighted to see videos of Brio playing in the yard early in our trip. James was just the reassuring presence Brio needed! We were truly appreciative of his care, and look forward to having him back.

Cannot recommend Izabella more highly! She stayed in our home with our 5 year old Cavachon and within a couple of days they became besties. Izabella took great care of him, and she sent pics a couple times a day and was very responsive via text as well. When we saw a pic of him curled up on her lap, we knew we found a wonderful sitter as that is Sonny's highest compliment. Thanks again, Izabella!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Clifton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Clifton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Clifton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
