“Digdem (Dee) was very responsible and loving with Blue. Blue is an older dog and she knew how to take care of him well. She gave him his meds and his meals every day. Blue didn’t lose any weight in her care. Dee sent us pics of Blue almost every day. He hang out regularly with one of Dee’s dogs and seemed to do everything with his new friend. In the pics Blue always seems to be smiling. Dee had comfy pillow beds for him and at night he slept on one of those in Dee’s bedroom. In the evenings, Blue also watched TV on the sofa cuddled by Dee and next to his doggie friend. All in all, Dee was a wonderful doggie caretaker for Blue during our two and a half weeks of travel. We definitely will board him with her again. Miriam and Harry”

“Suko was very well taken care of during the winter storm while we went on vacation! Val sent pictures and updates daily, leaving us confident Suko was in good hands. He was a super happy pup when we returned, thanks for taking such good care of him!”

“Orso had a wonderful time with Caitlin and Georgia! Usually when we pick him up from a sitter he jumps right into our car but this time he tried to go back in with Caitlin. She took exceptional care of him, ensuring he got exercise, was well fed, brushed, played and stayed cool. We feel very comfortable knowing our boy will be in good hands when we go away later this summer!”

“Tammy and Tony took great care of Yuki (Great Pyrenees). She spent 4 nights with them, and came home happy. (I think they even brushed her quite a bit--it is the spring shedding season--she came home looking more tidy when she left!) They understand the dog's needs so well. Fully confident leaving our four-legged family member with them!”

“We had such a great experience with Kun and family! He is extremely responsive and accomodating. We needed a sitter last minute, and Kun was able to take our dog without any problems. We also appreciated the updates throughout the day. I felt at ease knowing that our dog was basically on his own vacation with Kun and family”

“We would give 10 stars if we could! Tricia had our Labrador Retriever/Catahoula Leopard mix Lenny for a little over a week and it was the first time we had ever left him anywhere. At our first meeting, it was clear that Tricia has a tremendous amount of experience and know-how when it comes to dogs, and I knew immediately that we were in great hands. She calmed our nerves and assured us that she would keep us updated while we were away. She helped our guy settle into a routine quickly and she did an extraordinary job handling his food issues (we sent pre-made table food for her to give him). While we were away, she was an excellent communicator and sent us various pictures of him during different times of the day. He looked so happy that we were afraid he wouldn't want to come home! When we picked him up, he was happy, healthy, clean, and showed obvious affection towards Tricia. We are so incredibly relieved that we found her to watch Lenny if and when we need to travel without our boy. With gratitude, from Laura (Lenny's Mom).”

“We are SO happy that Desi & Mimi could watch our beloved family Lab over the holiday! We know that our dog is in great hands because she is so excited to go for her stay with a wagging tail and wiggly embrace for Desi. We are so grateful for the update via photos and video too! Just a wonderful experience that we highly recommend! Thank you both!!”

“Lindsey is a very responsible and caring dog sitter. She treated Mango like a member of her own family and made sure he was happy, healthy, and well cared for throughout his stay. She took care of all his daily needs and responsibilities with great attention and love. I believe Mango will miss her family when he goes home, and I’m sure he will be looking forward to seeing them and reconnecting with them again next time!”

“Jillian and Andrew did a great job watching my dog while I was away for 8 days! They sent pictures almost every day so that I knew he was doing well and getting lots of attention. I would definitely recommend using them.”

“Amy was wonderful with our dog Jack. He’s an anxious dog who takes a little time to get to know new people and Amy was extremely patient and accommodating. We really appreciate a home where Jack feels comfortable and it took very little time for Jack to feel comfortable with Amy and her family. We will be booking again for our summer vacation boarding needs.”

“I was hesitant to leave my dog because he has separation anxiety. But Fundi and her family loved him and took great care of him. I can’t thank them enough and I will definitely be using her again!”

“THE BEST dog sitters! Our pup stayed with them for only one night and we received many updates and pictures. Super responsive and kind! 100% would recommend!”

About: I have taken care of pets since I was a teenager. My own, family and friends. I feed them, walk them, bathe them, and even hand feed them if necessary. I work hybrid and I can care for pets Monday to Saturday from 8 to 6 pm for now. I can do some weekends if arrangements are made in advance. My backyard is fenced, we have plenty of indoor space for the pet to use and I can crate your pet if have them accustomed to it. We have a central air conditioning for those hot days.
“David & Angelica have the perfect haven for our fur babies, and Tux thoroughly enjoyed himself. Every picture they sent he was really smiling! They were both very kind and friendly. I'll definitely book them again and highly recommend them for boarding.”

“Frances took great care of our dog. She works from home so he got a week of full attention. She communicated frequently with pictures and updates. Very nice person and animal lover.”

Our Yoshi is a young and social mini schnauzer, and he had a great time making friends under Yuberkis’s care! This was our first time leaving him and we received photos everyday of our happy little guy. Thank you Yuberkis for giving him a safe place to be a little goof!

Molly was amazing! She was super communicative before and during our dog’s stay. He got plenty of exercise and play and snuggles. It was such a relief knowing he was getting such great care while we were away. I’d absolutely recommend Molly and will definitely book again in the future!

The best boarding I’ve had thus far! I was super emotional leaving my little guy behind for 9 nights but Darien immediately sent me videos and pictures and made me feel like I could trust her. 10/10 service, Darien and her family went above and beyond when it came to my frenchie baby. The bath before pickup was also amazing, icing on the cake! I will definitely be using her services again.

Bell was wonderful and I appreciate her accepting my last minute request to watch my separation anxiety prone Chihuahua/Yorky mix. She sent me several pictures and kept me updated throughout the stay. She was able to keep my pup calm and happy while I was working. I highly recommend and would use again!
John was a delight, my fur baby PJ stayed a week with him and had a great time during playtime and the daily walks. It was so reassuring to know PJ was in good hands. He sent pictures throughout to show me how much fun they wsre having. I've already booked him for another stay.

Valerie was great with my senior dog, Gerry, who she watched for about a week while I was on vacation. Between his age and his separation anxiety, Gerry isn’t always the easiest pup, but Valerie knew how to let him settle in — when to love him up, when to distract him, and when to give him space. She always updated me on how he was doing, and worked with me to find solutions if he seemed particularly grumpy. Gerry also has a bit of a complicated medication regimen, which Valerie handled perfectly. She clearly has experience will all types of dogs and their needs, and I felt confident leaving Gerry in her capable hands. I’d absolutely call Valerie again!

Thank you so much to Elizabeth for taking wonderful care of Coco. We loved getting daily updates with pictures and videos. It gave us peace of mind while we were on vacation. Elizabeth went above and beyond by giving Coco a bath and washing his blanket and toys before pickup. Coco came home happy and clean. Thank you again for the excellent care!

Veronica took great care of my Nutmeg! Knowing I was going to be away for two weeks, I was nervous about leaving her at a boarding facility where she's been stressed when I've taken shorter trips. After a meet & greet, I was already at ease. In addition to loving my sweet, old girl, I also received photo, and text updates. I'm so thankful I found Veronica, and look forward to future trips where I'll know Nutmeg is loved, and care for.

Leaving Rosie with Vanessa and her family while we were away for our wedding and honeymoon was one of the best decisions we made. From the moment she arrived, Rosie was beyond excited to be there and was treated like part of the family. Vanessa kept us updated with so many photos and videos of Rosie playing, relaxing, and clearly having the best time. It made being away from our girl so much easier and gave us complete peace of mind knowing she was so loved and well cared for. We could truly enjoy our wedding and honeymoon without worrying for a second. We’re incredibly grateful for the kindness, communication, and genuine care Vanessa and her family showed Rosie. We wouldn’t hesitate to trust them again and recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional pet care!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
