“We are so pleased with the care our dog received while staying with Laura and Daniel. They treated our dog with kindness and compassion. We are beyond grateful for your wonderful service. Thank you.”

“This was my first time boarding my dog, and Amanda made his entire stay worry-free. My dog had an absolute blast! He enjoyed tons of play time and cuddles, along with a consistent schedule. I really appreciated Amanda treating him like her own, and all of the thorough updates. Highly recommend!”

“Amanda sent us lots of photos and had everything packed up and ready when we arrived to pick her up. Our girl seemed happy as can be in the photos and when we picked her up. Thanks Amanda!”

About: I’ve taken care of mine and my family’s dogs for the last three years, and already have a spacious home with a backyard set up for them. I provide constant attention and support to them since I am retired. I am a retired teacher, so I am always home to take care of your furry friend. My schedule is very flexible, perfect to accommodate your pet. I have a fenced in yard, and live very close to a lark park with a fenced-in dog park. I have a four year old chiweenie who gets along with all dogs and cats, and is very quiet. Gidget will be happy to have a friend to play with!

“Alexandra was great. We had a last minute change that resulted in us needing a last minute sitter to take in our anxious, senior dog for 2 days. She took him in and helped him with his medications, dealt with his separation anxiety, and was very kind to him and his difficulties. She sent plenty of updates and gave him plenty of exercise, love, and attention. She treated him as if he was her own and we will very much use her again when the need arises.”

“Jia is such a caring person I m so happy I found her for my cat she kept me updated share pics and video always quick response, now I m very relax I have someone caring and loving for my little girl😊”

“We had a wonderful experience with Eunice. She took such great care of our dog and made sure he felt safe, comfortable, and loved throughout the stay. It was clear from the updates and photos that our dog was happy and well cared for. Communication was excellent, and we really appreciated the kindness, attention, and genuine affection she showed. It was such a relief to know our dog was in such good hands. We would absolutely book with Eunice again and highly recommend them her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter.”

“Tammy and Tony were great! They were super responsive and I had an update every day from them for my dog. He was in great care and I will definitely use them again!”

“Experienced dog family! Took great care of our big boy! Sent lots of updates and pictures. I have a big boy who loves to spend the days outside and their fenced in yard gave him lots of room to explore! They are real dog people and I felt 100% confident my dog was in good hands!”

“Helped out in a last minute notice in a whole different state and treated pepperoni like he was their own 🥰 I can honestly say I got super lucky with them! I booked a trip to Nj to see the American Dream mall and take my son to Nickelodeon amusement park for his 2nd bday booked a hotel that accepted dogs but could not accept my dog barking and he barked when he was alone he had a bit of separation anxiety. Which I doubt it was as bad as the hotel made it but thanks god for Hsin & Paul! They were able to take pepperoni on last minute.”
“It was my first time leaving my puppy for several days and Tamika was great! She sent me photos and kept me updated daily which was really important to me. I could really sense that she enjoyed taking care of her. I will definitely rebook in the future 😊”

“We left our cockapoo, Oliver, with Dee for 5 days and she made it seem like we were never apart. She sent constant updates and pictures and is overall a very sweet person. We had a meet and greet before Oliver’s stay and right away I could tell my dog would be in great hands and have good company with her 2 friendly dogs. Dee was very accommodating and even gave a sweet doggie gift basket when we picked Oliver up! Book with Dee and you won’t be disappointed!”

About: My loving pet sitting services comes with long walks, access to my fenced in back yard, and endless cuddles and play time with my family (including 3 kids ages 10, 10, 13). I can set up gates to restrict access if needed but I generally give dogs full run of my first floor, including sofas, so I generally limit day care and overnights to fully potty-trained dogs with zero aggression. I don't accept dogs from multiples homes in 1 stay but am open to more than 1 dog from the same home coming together. I work from home and my kids walk themselves to school and sports, so I'm very flexible to take your dog out to the backyard as often as needed, and we can also do several short walks and/or a longer walk, depending on what they like. With play time and cuddles thrown in throughout the day, of course! I have a 6' high fenced in back yard, however we do have the occasional rabbit or ground hog digging under the fence, so we can do a perimeter check before letting small dogs run free, or I can keep them leashed for potty breaks. It's totally up to you if you want them to run around freely or not, but we are always out there supervising.
“Like many, I felt anxious leaving my 5 month old puppy with someone neither of us knew, but was visiting a friend, near Nigel, who doesn’t like dogs. Nigel was wonderful with my little girl. She loved the company of his dog Chief, and he was very intentional about introducing them to one another. Would definitely use again and absolutely recommend!”

“Elaina took care of our cat Toshi for a long weekend and gave her lots of love & treats! She also sent lots of updates and photos to let me know how Toshi was adjusting. I appreciated that she offered a meet n greet a few weeks before the visit so Toshi could get used to her space. Elaina was also super flexible with dropoff and pickup times after our flight arrived late.”

“Amy was great. This was our first time leaving our very shy dog with someone, and we were confident she was in great hands and received lots of love. We would use Amy again without hesitation.”

“This was my first time trying this service and I feel lucky, because I hit the jackpot when we chose Alexa to doggy sit our dog Ceasar… She made us feel extremely comfortable each day…. Alexa kept us updated and she sent us pictures… Thank you Alexa, and you already know that we will be using your services from now on. Thank You, Danny Sanchez”

Bell was wonderful and I appreciate her accepting my last minute request to watch my separation anxiety prone Chihuahua/Yorky mix. She sent me several pictures and kept me updated throughout the stay. She was able to keep my pup calm and happy while I was working. I highly recommend and would use again!
Blanca was a wonderful caretaker for our 2 year old Havanese! We are a bit particular with instructions, and she followed them to make sure Sonny felt at home. She only takes 1 dog at a time (plus her own sweet dog),so her house is orderly and clean. Her backyard play area is fenced in which gives the dogs ample room to play. I highly recommend!
John was a delight, my fur baby PJ stayed a week with him and had a great time during playtime and the daily walks. It was so reassuring to know PJ was in good hands. He sent pictures throughout to show me how much fun they wsre having. I've already booked him for another stay.

Alexandra was great. We had a last minute change that resulted in us needing a last minute sitter to take in our anxious, senior dog for 2 days. She took him in and helped him with his medications, dealt with his separation anxiety, and was very kind to him and his difficulties. I honestly can’t recommend Justine enough. From even before I booked with Rover, she was incredibly communicative, transparent, and kind. We were in contact for weeks before Max’s stay, and she took the time to answer all of my questions and make me feel completely comfortable. As a first-time Rover user, that meant so much to me. While I was away in Mexico, I never had to wonder how Max was doing. Justine sent regular updates with photos and videos, and it was obvious from every update that she genuinely cared about him. She didn’t just watch him—she spent time with him, played with him, and gave him so much love and attention. It was clear he wasn’t just another pet to her. When I picked Max up, he was happy, relaxed, well-fed, and acted like he’d been home the whole time. That’s probably the biggest compliment I can give. I could tell he felt safe and cared for every single day he was with her. On top of that, I accidentally left some of Max’s belongings at her house, and she even took the time to drive them back to me. That level of thoughtfulness really says everything about the kind of person she is. This was my first experience using Rover, and because of Justine, it couldn’t have gone better. She exceeded every expectation I had, and I would trust her with Max again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much, Justine!

This was our first time leaving our Lucy with someone outside of our home and it was a great experience using Darien. She was very professional, very kind, super communicative with daily videos and Lucy came back to us looking and acting super well cared for. We will definitely plan to use her again in the future.

What a relief. Our 10yr old Guinny has not had overnight boarding/sitting in years. Now that he is visually impaired and diabetic we were extremely nervous to leave him multiple days. Berenice was so attentive and made us feel comfortable from the very start. She maintained his twice-a-day insulin injection schedule and kept him active. At pick up I could immediately tell he felt safe with her as there was no pulling away, no whining, no fuss. We did not enter fully inside the home but still felt it was welcoming and suitable for dog-siiting. We are happy and will definitely book Berenice again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
