“Manuel was sooooo accommodating! My flight got canceled and he was able to squeeze us in for ab extra day! I will forever be grateful to him. He was super friendly, answered all my calls and text immediately. Send me pictures of my fur babies. This was the first time I've ever left them with someone other than my mom and he made me feel extremely comfortable. Thank you Manny I look forward to my next vacation because I'm booking with you!! Hope your available in September lol but dead serious 🤣”

“Shaun and his family take great care of our pup Skye, who always comes home happy and tired. I feel extremely confident that Skye is treated as a part of their family.”

“Amazing first time experience with Staci. Great communication and made me comfortable that my fur baby was in excellent hands. Thank you for taking such great care of her!”

“David & Angelica have the perfect haven for our fur babies, and Tux thoroughly enjoyed himself. Every picture they sent he was really smiling! They were both very kind and friendly. I'll definitely book them again and highly recommend them for boarding.”

“It’s always uncomfortable leaving a pet in a new place but with Angie that feeling vanished quickly. She’s responsive and punctual and great with animals. I could tell my pup was happy and relaxed in the pics she sent while I was away. Zeus had such a good stay he didn’t want to leave when I came to pick him up!”

“Sulay was absolutely wonderful with my dog. I left him with her for the weekend and she sent me all the updates, she’s so responsible, her boys loved him, and her dog Hunter was really good with him too. I feel totally confident in her abilities and would absolutely leave him with her again. She’s so sweet, book her for your next dog sitting!”

“Lindsey and her family were great. They took amazing care of Rocky and updated my family daily with pictures and how he is doing. Rocky seemed to have enjoyed his staycation with them and appeared sad leaving them. Will definitely rebook with them with further dog sitting needs.”

“My furbaby was comfortable with Keirstin. He spent a day with her before his 3 nights of boarding. He was quite excited to see her again to start his boarding for which I was pleased to see. While we were away, Keirstin sent us photos and updates and she was very responsive when I asked questions about his settling in her home. Thank you Keirstin.”

“Teresa was absolutely wonderful with Max. She kept us updated regularly and sent plenty of sweet photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. This was our first time ever leaving Max with a sitter, and it wasn’t easy—he’s our sweet 17.5-year-old boy and can’t travel with us anymore. I missed him dearly, but knowing he was in such loving and capable hands made all the difference. We’re so grateful to have found Teresa!”

“Had such a wonderful experience with Johara as a dog sitter! From the very beginning, the attentiveness and genuine care for my 2 dogs was evident. Time was devoted to understand each of their personalities and routines, which made me feel completely at ease knowing they were in such capable hands. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches, especially the special treats—it was such a sweet gesture, and my pups absolutely loved it! I was also kept updated with frequent messages, and photos, which gave much peace of mind while away. I will happily book again. Highly recommended, Johara!”
“Thank you for looking after my dog Lexi over the weekend, you have such a great personality and wonderful atmosphere! I’m 100% satisfied with your service. You kept me updated with regular photos and messages, which is so reassuring. Lexi left happy and there were no issues during her stay. I recommend Yuberkis as a reliable dog sitter and will definitely use her services again in the future. Thank you so so much for taking such good care of Lexi! 🫶🏻”

“We love Tiara and how she cares for our cat! We are repeat customers for a reason. She is really easy to communicate with, very sweet and fast to respond, and very good with animals. Loved seeing updates while we were away, and interacting with Tiara. Thanks, Tiara!!!!”

“It was my first time leaving my puppy for several days and Tamika was great! She sent me photos and kept me updated daily which was really important to me. I could really sense that she enjoyed taking care of her. I will definitely rebook in the future 😊”

“Thank you so much for your wonderful care of my dog!! Moonyoung and her husband Sunhyung are so fantastic. Crystal really loved staying and playing with them. They took excellent care of my dog, ensuring she could rest in complete comfort after a tiring long distance journey. I am grateful for the unforgettable photos they have captured with truly exquisite skill. Best sitter ever!! Would definitely recommend!”

“Karollyne was great with Bizzle. She was kind and understanding and really managed to build trust with Bizzle in a short period of time. Bizzle is a senior dog and just needs gentle care and understanding which Karollyne did a great job! Highly recommended.”

Natasha was great! She was super communicative and sent regular updates and photos of our dog. She was also flexible when some changes were needed on pick up time. Overall 10/10 would recommend Natasha again and will be reaching out the next time we need someone to watch our dog in the area!

Jordy has been incredible to work with. My dog can be skittish with strangers, but quickly got accustomed to Jordy and now is eager to join him. Jordy is incredibly responsive and accommodating and the first person I turn to before trips both long and small. I strongly recommend Jordy. Five stars, no complaints.

Alexandra was great. We had a last minute change that resulted in us needing a last minute sitter to take in our anxious, senior dog for 2 days. She took him in and helped him with his medications, dealt with his separation anxiety, and was very kind to him and his difficulties. She sent plenty of updates and gave him plenty of exercise, love, and attention. She treated him as if he was her own and we will very much use her again when the need arises.

The sitter is an exceptional one. This lady was very attentive from the beginning before we booked the appointment and took the time enjoy our Asher and to send pictures. They communicated with me often and did everything we asked for, such as playing with the dog, taking him for walks, and following his daily schedule. I will definitely book them again.

Melanie has watched our Bella twice, and we couldn’t be happier with the care she provided! She is incredibly kind, caring, reliable, and attentive. Bella was comfortable and happy in her care. We felt completely at ease knowing Bella was in such loving and capable hands. It means so much to have someone we can truly trust with our furry family member. We would absolutely recommend M to anyone looking for a wonderful and dependable dog sitter!
What a relief. Our 10yr old Guinny has not had overnight boarding/sitting in years. Now that he is visually impaired and diabetic we were extremely nervous to leave him multiple days. Berenice was so attentive and made us feel comfortable from the very start. She maintained his twice-a-day insulin injection schedule and kept him active. At pick up I could immediately tell he felt safe with her as there was no pulling away, no whining, no fuss. We did not enter fully inside the home but still felt it was welcoming and suitable for dog-siiting. We are happy and will definitely book Berenice again.

Matthew took such good care of Noel and treated her like his own pet. You can tell he truly loves and cares for animals. He was so gentle and patient with her, especially with her anxiety. I noticed Noel had a better transition with Matthew than she had with any other sitter I have used in the past which says a lot about his character and the care he gives animals. 100% would use him again in the future. Thank you again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
