“I would highly recommend Diamond to take care of your pets. She communicated very well with updates including pictures and all. She was very accommodating and made my pups feel right at home during their stay with her. I will be using her in the future knowing my pets are in good hands!”

“Shaun and his family take great care of our pup Skye, who always comes home happy and tired. I feel extremely confident that Skye is treated as a part of their family.”

About: I feel what makes me different from other candidates is that I have treats for them. I make sure they are always comfortable. I give you updates on how they are doing. I know as dog parents sometimes we stress of knowing how they are. I also have been working taking care of dogs since I was 15. It was helped me learn a lot through the years Taking care of your fur baby fits in my daily routine because I have extra time and I enjoy going on walks and they bring so much joy. What makes my home safe is that I live a safe area. There is a park across the street across the street. They also get the backyard. There are no kids and they will monitored.
“Tynesha and her family were fantastic, sending photos and quick updates throughout our pet’s stay with them! He came back to us happy and healthy (and probably missing his new temporary family a little bit, too). It gives me great peace of mind to know that, if/when we next have to go out of town, we have this great option for our dog!”

“Karollyne was great with Bizzle. She was kind and understanding and really managed to build trust with Bizzle in a short period of time. Bizzle is a senior dog and just needs gentle care and understanding which Karollyne did a great job! Highly recommended.”

About: Dogs have always been a massive part of my life. I grew up with a beloved Maltese who lived to a happy, healthy 17 years old, so I am deeply familiar with the dedicated care, patience, and attention that senior dogs and smaller breeds require. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience pet-sitting a wide variety of breeds and personalities, including: High-Energy & Large Breeds: Mini Goldendoodles Small & Toy Breeds: Toy Poodles, Bichons, and Maltese Whether your dog is a high-energy pup who loves to play or a sweet senior who just wants to curl up next to my desk while I work, I know how to adapt to their specific routine and comfort levels. I live in a fantastic, dog-friendly apartment complex that is perfectly set up for a guest pup’s staycation: On-Site Dog Park: Right inside my complex, perfect for safe, enclosed playtime and socializing (if permitted). Great Walking Paths: Plenty of safe, sidewalk-lined areas right outside my door for frequent, structured potty breaks and refreshing walks. Constant Supervision: Because my job keeps me glued to my home office, your dog will never be left unattended. They will have full run of the apartment, plenty of couch cuddles, and a flexible schedule that revolves entirely around their needs. I can’t wait to meet your furry family member and provide them with a safe, loving home away from home! Because we both work from home full-time, our entire daily and weekly routine is built around flexibility. We are in the home 24/7, meaning your dog will receive constant, uninterrupted attention, frequent potty breaks, and plenty of companionship. Our schedule adapts completely to your dog’s natural routine, not the other way around. If their normal day requires a midday walk, specific feeding windows, or medication, we mirror that exactly. Best of all, because there are two of us, we operate as a team—if one of us is in a deep-focus work meeting or running a quick errand, the other is right there to step in. We are fully available for full-time boarding and dedicated to making our home your pup's favorite staycation. We focus entirely on providing a safe, low-stress, and highly attentive environment in our home. Because we don’t have a resident dog of our own, your pup gets our undivided love and the run of the apartment. Here is exactly how we ensure a safe and trustworthy stay: Continuous Supervision: Since we both work from home full-time, your dog is never left alone or uncrated in an empty apartment. We double-team our schedules, meaning there is always someone available to supervise playtime, monitor behaviors, and offer comfort. A Secure, Tailored Environment: Before any guest arrives, we ensure our apartment is fully dog-proofed. We carefully match our home's setup to your dog’s usual habits—whether they prefer sleeping in a crate, curling up in a dedicated dog bed, or claiming a spot right next to our office desks. Active & Safe Outings: For bathroom breaks and exercise, we utilize the excellent walking paths around our complex. If your dog loves to socialize, we have access to our complex's secure, on-site dog park. However, we only do park play or interactions with other dogs if you explicitly give us the green light. Strict Routine Management: We strictly adhere to the feeding schedules, portion sizes, and potty routines your dog is used to at home to avoid any digestive upset or anxiety.
“Angela is so kind and a dog whisperer for real. she is someone i feel i can trust with Mac, i got updates and pics/videos and that was soooo comforting. i trust her to administer his two medications and it was a pleasure to meet and hopefully board up with her again.”

“Darien took such amazing care of my girl during my 3-week trips and constantly updated me with photos and how the little one was doing! She is deeply caring and professional, highly recommend her for daycare and boarding services!”

“Amanda sent us lots of photos and had everything packed up and ready when we arrived to pick her up. Our girl seemed happy as can be in the photos and when we picked her up. Thanks Amanda!”

“This was the first time Tracy and Steven watched our boy Orso and we will gladly book with them again. They provided a fun, stimulating and caring environment. They kept us well informed with daily pictures and videos. They were easy to work with and very responsive. They even purchased a larger dog door so Orso could comfortably come and go as he pleased. We were able to enjoy our time away knowing Orso was in such good hands and keeping busy meeting all his new pup friends.”

“Ekaterina was fantastic with out puppy. She kept us informed and sent frequent pictures. Our puppy had a fabulous time and enjoyed her stay. Ekaterina was quick to respond and is wonderful to work with. Anyone would be lucky to have her care for their dog.”

“Klainer was amazing with my tiny dog Moqui! She was so responsive, sent me so many updates and photos and was so kind. I have a very anxious dog and Klainer made sure to make her feel at home. Thank you so much!”

“I can’t thank her enough i am so grateful my dog has learned new things in such little time .. she kept me updated at all times handled him with care as if it was her own dog i was very nervous at first but as time went by she made me feel very comfortable and i knew my dog was in good care and also safe .. thank you”

About: I am an animal-loving, high school science teacher, located in Harrison, NJ (previously in Secaucus, Jersey City and Union City). I welcomed my own puppy home in May 2021 and have plenty of experience taking care of my sisters’ three dogs. I live in a spacious townhouse at a pet-friendly complex that has its own dog park. I’m very good with strict schedules & routines and love taking pictures & videos of my furry friends, so their humans won’t have to worry! I am at work from 7:30am to 4pm every Monday to Friday. I can do check-ins outside of these times. I can board and do doggy daycare only on weekends (starting Friday evening) and my days off, as I do not feel comfortable leaving any animal alone while I’m at work. I am a school teacher, so during the summer, I’ll be home for a majority of the day throughout the week! If I have to leave a pet alone, I will use a pet gate, playpen, or crate as needed so no pet gets into any dangerous situation. For check-ins, I will keep your space as clean as possible, so your pet doesn’t get in any icky situations! I will respect your home and always communicate what I’m doing.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Orange
Doug, Luiz & the Ink & Tails crew Did an amazing job caring for our one year old Bernadoodle and our 13 year old chihuahua. They were attentive, provided frequent updates, and most importantly treated our pets with the love and care they have for their own. We are lucky we found them and will definitely be using their services again in the future. 🐶

What a relief. Our 10yr old Guinny has not had overnight boarding/sitting in years. Now that he is visually impaired and diabetic we were extremely nervous to leave him multiple days. Berenice was so attentive and made us feel comfortable from the very start. She maintained his twice-a-day insulin injection schedule and kept him active. At pick up I could immediately tell he felt safe with her as there was no pulling away, no whining, no fuss. We did not enter fully inside the home but still felt it was welcoming and suitable for dog-siiting. We are happy and will definitely book Berenice again.

Andrew took great care of our senior Pitty Sommy, he immediately struck us as very friendly and felt like extended family throughout the whole process. His home is beautiful with a gated yard for plenty of space and grass for our Sommy. Andrew made sure to update us with photos throughout the stay, and made sure Sommy was well taken cared for. We will definitely book with Andrew again, without hesitation.

I can’t thank Sissi enough for taking such wonderful care of our Sammy! She made him feel welcome and at home while we were away. Sammy is usually anxious without us and we could tell he felt comfortable and happy. We appreciated the daily updates and photos which made us feel at ease. Thanks so much! Until next time.

Karin was a super sitter for our mini schnauzer, Colby. She kept us updated with photos and reports. Karin reassured us that Colby was eating well and had a good relationship with her dog, Roxie. She followed all our requests for Colby’s care and communicated any concerns she had. We would definitely use Karin again to watch Colby.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
