“Heather was fantastic with Dubu! As a rescue owner, I was a bit nervous about boarding because of her shy temperament and specific safety needs, but Heather was incredibly gentle and understanding from the start. She provided detailed text updates and photos that put me at ease. It was also great to see her getting quality walks in the park, and I loved seeing her hanging out with Heather’s dog, Stevie, also gentle soul. Heather was professional, flexible with my schedule, and clearly knows how to handle dogs with more complex personalities. I’d highly recommend her to any pet parent, especially those with rescues who need a patient and caring environment. Thank you!”

“Our dog Chester loves Jelfri! It’s been his third time watching him and Chester feels right at home with Jelfri and his family. Great communication and frequent picture updates which we appreciate!”

“I have a sweet but anxious girl and she was very happy staying with Janise- I could tell by the videos she keep me updated with that she was happy and trusted her - I would highly recommend her and would rebook again!”

“Caroline was a gem! She was very accommodating of the last minute request and the way she wanted to do a short meet and greet prior to my dog’s stay, it felt very genuine of her to ensure her dogs and my dog had a good introduction. I was nervous about leaving my dog Berkeley for a week, but Caroline and her family really loved on Berkeley like their own and I really loved that she sent frequent photos, videos, and updates about how Berkeley was doing.”

“I needed a dog sitter for a last minute trip out of town and was contacted immediately. She sent me pictures and felt very comfortable leaving Sammy in her care. She administered all his medicines and I would highly recommend.”
“Sophie took amazing care of my dog Captain during his 5 night stay. She was super responsive throughout the whole time and took him on long walks whenever she had the chance. It was clear Captain was very well cared for and happy with her. Would definitely recommend Sophie to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog walker/sitter, and I’d absolutely work with her again!”

“Karollyne was great with Bizzle. She was kind and understanding and really managed to build trust with Bizzle in a short period of time. Bizzle is a senior dog and just needs gentle care and understanding which Karollyne did a great job! Highly recommended.”

“Our dog was very well taken care of even when we had a flight delay. Definitely appreciate and recommend for care of your pup. Thanks a ton for taking care of my baby Mio.”

“Andrew took great care of our senior Pitty Sommy, he immediately struck us as very friendly and felt like extended family throughout the whole process. His home is beautiful with a gated yard for plenty of space and grass for our Sommy. Andrew made sure to update us with photos throughout the stay, and made sure Sommy was well taken cared for. We will definitely book with Andrew again, without hesitation.”

“Natalia was great! Her dog, Kylo, played with ours all night and they had a great time. I have a very tired and happy pup so I’m truly grateful!”

“Amazing. I read all the reviews and knew this would be a great sitter for my puppy, Bruno. But, this exceeded all expectations. I received updates, videos and photos galore. More than I take on my own. Bruno is back and walks and trained better than when I dropped him off. Communication and coordination was easy. I did have to extend an extra night without issue. Junaid will be me go-to sitter in the area.”

“Amanda sent us lots of photos and had everything packed up and ready when we arrived to pick her up. Our girl seemed happy as can be in the photos and when we picked her up. Thanks Amanda!”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent service! They took great care of my dog and treated him like family. I felt at ease knowing he was in such good hands. Highly recommend!”

About: Dogs have always been a massive part of my life. I grew up with a beloved Maltese who lived to a happy, healthy 17 years old, so I am deeply familiar with the dedicated care, patience, and attention that senior dogs and smaller breeds require. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience pet-sitting a wide variety of breeds and personalities, including: High-Energy & Large Breeds: Mini Goldendoodles Small & Toy Breeds: Toy Poodles, Bichons, and Maltese Whether your dog is a high-energy pup who loves to play or a sweet senior who just wants to curl up next to my desk while I work, I know how to adapt to their specific routine and comfort levels. I live in a fantastic, dog-friendly apartment complex that is perfectly set up for a guest pup’s staycation: On-Site Dog Park: Right inside my complex, perfect for safe, enclosed playtime and socializing (if permitted). Great Walking Paths: Plenty of safe, sidewalk-lined areas right outside my door for frequent, structured potty breaks and refreshing walks. Constant Supervision: Because my job keeps me glued to my home office, your dog will never be left unattended. They will have full run of the apartment, plenty of couch cuddles, and a flexible schedule that revolves entirely around their needs. I can’t wait to meet your furry family member and provide them with a safe, loving home away from home! Because we both work from home full-time, our entire daily and weekly routine is built around flexibility. We are in the home 24/7, meaning your dog will receive constant, uninterrupted attention, frequent potty breaks, and plenty of companionship. Our schedule adapts completely to your dog’s natural routine, not the other way around. If their normal day requires a midday walk, specific feeding windows, or medication, we mirror that exactly. Best of all, because there are two of us, we operate as a team—if one of us is in a deep-focus work meeting or running a quick errand, the other is right there to step in. We are fully available for full-time boarding and dedicated to making our home your pup's favorite staycation. We focus entirely on providing a safe, low-stress, and highly attentive environment in our home. Because we don’t have a resident dog of our own, your pup gets our undivided love and the run of the apartment. Here is exactly how we ensure a safe and trustworthy stay: Continuous Supervision: Since we both work from home full-time, your dog is never left alone or uncrated in an empty apartment. We double-team our schedules, meaning there is always someone available to supervise playtime, monitor behaviors, and offer comfort. A Secure, Tailored Environment: Before any guest arrives, we ensure our apartment is fully dog-proofed. We carefully match our home's setup to your dog’s usual habits—whether they prefer sleeping in a crate, curling up in a dedicated dog bed, or claiming a spot right next to our office desks. Active & Safe Outings: For bathroom breaks and exercise, we utilize the excellent walking paths around our complex. If your dog loves to socialize, we have access to our complex's secure, on-site dog park. However, we only do park play or interactions with other dogs if you explicitly give us the green light. Strict Routine Management: We strictly adhere to the feeding schedules, portion sizes, and potty routines your dog is used to at home to avoid any digestive upset or anxiety.
“Pooja cared for Annabel for 3 days and 2 nights while I was out of town. She was beyond wonderful and Annabel adores her. Pooja went out of her way to learn everything she could about Annabel so she could ensure Annabel would be comfortable and even came to meet us beforehand. She is affectionate and so considerate toward Annabel, asking me good questions while I was away to ensure her health and comfort. She let Annabel sleep with her and moved her set up around so that Annabel, who has arthritis, wouldn’t have to jump up and down. I was super pleased with her photos checkins and updates. We both adore Pooja and will 💯 be booking her again. Thank you, Pooja! ❤️ 🐾”

“Sal & Troy are THE BEST! Leela loves her time at "sleepaway camp" when me and my husband have to travel for work, she doesn't even look back at us anymore when we drop her off LOL. They're so understanding of her "quirks" (ie no idea about personal space, doesn't like other on-leash dogs, piggy who tries to eat everything off the ground) and they still take great care of her and are often available on last-minute notice. We'll definitely continue booking with them as long as they're available!!!”

“Ian and Clementina were great with Tripp, from taking him to the dog park to letting him join all their errands. I really appreciated the prompt communication and daily photo updates — Tripp was comfortable and rolling over for belly rubs almost instantly with them!”

Rosemeri was terrific during the entire process. This was the first time we used Rover and Rosemeri and we were very pleased with the service. She sent photos of our dog Duke on a regular basis. It was very convenient for us and we were very pleased with the service. We plan to use her services again this coming fall when we go away.

I can't recommend Darrin and Debra enough! From the very beginning, they were professional, communicative, and genuinely caring. It was clear that my dog was treated like family, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. I received regular updates, photos, and messages, so I always knew my pup was happy, safe, and well cared for. They went above and beyond to make sure my dog's routine stayed consistent, and I could tell my dog felt comfortable and loved. When I returned, my dog was relaxed, healthy, and clearly had a wonderful time. It's such a relief to find someone who is not only reliable but also truly passionate about animals. I will absolutely be booking with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional pet care!

Andrew took great care of our senior Pitty Sommy, he immediately struck us as very friendly and felt like extended family throughout the whole process. His home is beautiful with a gated yard for plenty of space and grass for our Sommy. Andrew made sure to update us with photos throughout the stay, and made sure Sommy was well taken cared for. From the moment leo was dropped off, I knew he was in great hands. Miasha took such wonderful care of him and kept me updated with pictures and messages throughout his stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was obvious that Leo was treated with so much love, patience, and attention. I truly appreciated the excellent communication and how much she cared about his comfort and happiness. I would absolutely trust her with Leo again and highly recommend miasha to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and caring dog sitter. Thank you for taking such great care of my baby!
Jennifer was absolutely wonderful with Brooklyn! She kept us updated throughout his stay with messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She was incredibly patient and understanding with his little quirks, and it was clear he was well cared for and loved. She even accommodated us for an extra night when our flight was delayed, which we were so grateful for. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Jennifer again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter. Thank you so much, Jennifer! 🐾💛

Lifu was very kind and communicative! She took care of my pups over a week with a last minute requests and they both came back very well taken care of. She provided lots of pics and updates without asking and set my mind at ease while away. Could not recommend her more!

Neide is the only person I’ve trusted with my dog Champ ever since we moved to NJ. She’s amazing - very attentive, caring and great at communicating. I never worry about him when he’s with Neide and he always looks so happy to see her and happy on all the photos and videos she sends me during his stay. I couldn’t recommend Neide more!

From the second we met Joni I knew our dog Poppy would be in great hands. Poppy immediately felt comfortable with Joni and didn't even look back as we walked away during the drop off. Joni was in touch with us with pictures and messages about what Poppy was up to several times a day. We would recommend Joni to anyone who is looking for a loving and reliable pet sitter. Thank you Joni!!!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
