About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember and truly enjoy bonding with pets because they feel like a safe space and the most genuine companions. I have 4+ years of experience caring for both cats and dogs, including feeding, playtime, walks, litter box cleaning, giving attention, and making pets feel comfortable and safe while their owners are away. Friends, neighbors, and family have relied on me to care for their pets with patience, love, and reliability. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because spending time with animals is something I genuinely enjoy. I make time throughout the week for feeding, walks, playtime, check-ins, and giving pets attention, comfort, and companionship while their owners are away. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in a calm environment. I carefully follow feeding schedules, routines, and any instructions provided by the owner. I pay close attention to pets’ behavior, keep their spaces clean, make sure doors and gates are secure, and give them patience, affection, and gentle care so they feel relaxed and protected.
“Darrin, Debra, and Emily cared for our most precious treasure Benjamin with much love, attention to detail, and dedication. We are very grateful for their professionalism, and for the good treatment that our English Bulldog received during this stay at their home. We recommend and will request your services again in the future.”

“Rommie was fantastic, easy to communicate with, sent plenty of pictures, and took great care of my pup Lady. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a caring, gentle dog sitter.”

“Darien and her family were wonderful! They took good care of our dog, and kept us updated, through messages and photos, of the stay. Darien is also very meticulous about feedings and ensuring that our dog felt at home. We really appreciated that!”

“T, goes far and beyond to ensure you and your furry baby is comfortable. She was attentive and my furry baby loves her. Take advantage of the meet greet. We’re so happy we found her. ????”

“I am so grateful for the amazing care my dog received! I had to leave out of state unexpectedly and realized at the last minute that I had made arrangements for everyone except our family dog. Thankfully, Klainer stepped in without hesitation and made the entire experience stress-free. Klainer kept me updated daily with pictures and text messages, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear my dog was being cared for with love, patience, and attention. I truly appreciate her kindness, reliability, and professionalism. I will most definitely be using her services again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dependable dog sitter!”

“Sulay was absolutely wonderful with my dog. I left him with her for the weekend and she sent me all the updates, she’s so responsible, her boys loved him, and her dog Hunter was really good with him too. I feel totally confident in her abilities and would absolutely leave him with her again. She’s so sweet, book her for your next dog sitting!”

“Accommodated with short notice. Encouraged a meet and greet, even came to us due to our schedule. Immediately felt at ease leaving Fletcher for the day. He looked happy in the photos sent.”

About: Cant think of time where I haven’t been around a dog. Growing up there was always dogs in the house. It comes easy to me. For my 2 dogs it starts at 345am with their first walk before I head to the gym. There 2nd walk comes at 8am before I start work then again at 2pm for a quick lunch break and their last 2 walks come at 5 and 930pm before settling down for the night. In between all the walking they’ll get breakfast and dinner and some naps. Meet and greet is important along with getting to know the pets needs and routines. Along with likes and dislikes. Knowing what the pet parents wants and expects from visits or boarding.
“Neide is simply the best! She took incredible care of our puppy. I recommend her fully without hesitation. She sent us pictures every day and even some videos. She loves dogs so much! Thanks Neide!”

About: I feel what makes me different from other candidates is that I have treats for them. I make sure they are always comfortable. I give you updates on how they are doing. I know as dog parents sometimes we stress of knowing how they are. I also have been working taking care of dogs since I was 15. It was helped me learn a lot through the years Taking care of your fur baby fits in my daily routine because I have extra time and I enjoy going on walks and they bring so much joy. What makes my home safe is that I live a safe area. There is a park across the street across the street. They also get the backyard. There are no kids and they will monitored.
“Amanda and Max took such wonderful care of our dog! From the start, Amanda was incredibly responsive and flexible, which made the whole process so easy. While we were away, she sent lots of photos and updates, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear that our dog was having a great time and was being well cared for. We’re so grateful to have found them and would highly recommend Amanda and Max to anyone looking for a reliable and caring place for their dog!”

About: I am an animal-loving, high school science teacher, located in Harrison, NJ (previously in Secaucus, Jersey City and Union City). I welcomed my own puppy home in May 2021 and have plenty of experience taking care of my sisters’ three dogs. I live in a spacious townhouse at a pet-friendly complex that has its own dog park. I’m very good with strict schedules & routines and love taking pictures & videos of my furry friends, so their humans won’t have to worry! I am at work from 7:30am to 4pm every Monday to Friday. I can do check-ins outside of these times. I can board and do doggy daycare only on weekends (starting Friday evening) and my days off, as I do not feel comfortable leaving any animal alone while I’m at work. I am a school teacher, so during the summer, I’ll be home for a majority of the day throughout the week! If I have to leave a pet alone, I will use a pet gate, playpen, or crate as needed so no pet gets into any dangerous situation. For check-ins, I will keep your space as clean as possible, so your pet doesn’t get in any icky situations! I will respect your home and always communicate what I’m doing.
“My dog Bella is 9 yrs old and has only ever been left with family. This was our first time using a dog sitter. I couldn’t have been more happy and comfortable leaving my dog with Jessica. She provided her with such great care. And even sent text messages daily letting us know how she was. I will definitely be booking her again in the future!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for over 10 years for family and friends, and I’m excited to welcome new furry guests into my home. I provide a calm, loving environment where every dog is treated like family. My sweet Yorkshire Terrier, Nina, enjoys meeting new friends and helps make visiting dogs feel right at home. To ensure every pup has enough space and individual attention, I only accept dogs up to 15 pounds. I work from home full-time, so I’m able to provide consistent care and supervision throughout the day. I can easily follow your dog’s regular schedule for meals, potty breaks, walks, playtime, medication (if needed), and plenty of affection. My flexible routine allows me to give each guest the attention they deserve instead of leaving them home alone for long periods. Your dog’s safety and happiness are my highest priorities. I live in a quiet, walkable neighborhood that’s perfect for daily strolls, and my home is clean, secure, and designed to help small dogs feel comfortable. Because my space is best suited for smaller pups, I only host dogs up to 15 pounds, ensuring everyone has room to relax and play safely. I’ll treat your pet as if they were my own and keep you updated with photos and messages throughout their stay so you can enjoy complete peace of mind.

Angie was absolutely amazing with our 6-month-old puppy! She kept us updated with photos throughout his stay, showing his playtime and how happy and comfortable he was. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was in such caring hands. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and will definitely book with Angie again. Highly recommend!

I appreciate Miss Natalie so much. Such a caring and loving dog sitter. She kept me updated and kept me at ease while I was 3,000 miles away. For my first time leaving my dog with someone I didn't really know,it felt like I was dropping my child off to school for the first day, lol! The good thing about it all as well, is that he came home and acted his regular normal self, there was no change in Behavior! That's how I know that he was comfortable being there and I will definitely use her again!

Klainer took very good care or our Lulu with daily photos and updates. She was always very quick to reply to all my messages. She also followed the various guidelines we gave her to best care for our dog. Between her and her cousin, there was almost always someone at home with Lulu which put us at ease.

We had a wonderful experience! They provided tons of updates and photos throughout the stay, which gave us total peace of mind. Simba felt completely safe and comfortable, and he absolutely loved having their pet dog Sirius as a companion to play with. When we picked him up, he was so happy and relaxed. We couldn't have asked for better care!

My little Muffin had a blast. I booked with Julhiffer again and while I was on vacation she always kept me updated with the cutest videos and pics of my dog having a ball. She creates such a warm and animal friendly atmosphere! She is amazing ! Thank you again!

Breanna was an amazing sitter. I received so many picture updates and she was very inquisitive and caring in learning about my dog and his needs. One of the first times that I had no doubt that he was in amazing hands. I will definitely be rebooking and making her my go to sitter!

Ashley and her family were amazing! Highly recommend and will definitely be using again! She constantly sent me pictures of our pup and gave us updates daily. When we went to pickup our dog, she didn't want to leave Ashley's house lol. The best dog sitter we've ever used

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
