“It was my first time leaving my baby with someone and Alexa made the journey so reliable and comfortable! My girl is not an easy dog and she was at home, we could see at the pictures that she was comfortable and doing all the things she does with us.”
“John was very tentative to our dog . We loved his positive energy . We can tell he's a true animal lover . He was so easy going and flexible when we had to change our drop off off time last minute . Love how him and his son made our dog feel loved :) Photos were adorable of her he sent ! Thanks so much :)”

“I am very thankful and appreciative for your care and love for my dog. I really enjoyed receiving photos and update while I was away, that really eased my mind. I highly recommend !”

“She was super nice and kept me updated about our furrbaby n he also loved there and played with other dogs! Will definitely recommend her to others who wants to leave their furbabies in good hands!”

“We are incredibly thankful to Rajan for boarding our dog, Loki, for a little over two weeks. Loki was so well cared for and looked genuinely happy throughout her stay. She loved getting to play with other pups, which made the experience even better for her. Rajan is clearly an animal lover and treated Loki as if she were his own. We also really appreciated the regular updates, photos, and videos, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We’re very grateful for the care and attention Rajan provided and would highly recommend him.”

“Jo is AMAZING! My Wheatie Belle had such a great time hanging out with her, Callie and Presley…I’ve vowed to make sure they hang out once a month…LoL…that’s how GREAT she is!!!!”

“First Impressions Boarding my dog, Lilly, with someone outside the family for the first time made me a little nervous. My granddaughter, who had used Rover before, helped me submit the application and choose a sitter. Even on the way to drop Lilly off, I still felt apprehensive, but that quickly changed when Teresa gave us such a warm welcome and Lilly and I were greeted by Teresa’s three friendly dogs. Although Lilly seemed a bit overwhelmed at first, she soon relaxed after playing in Teresa’s large backyard, and I felt comfortable leaving her there. Updates During Her Stay Teresa reassured me that Lilly would be well cared for and promised to keep me updated. She followed through by sending photos and notes about how Lilly was sleeping, eating, and taking her medicine, which I really appreciated. Pickup and Overall Experience When I picked Lilly up, Teresa told me what a joy she had been to care for. She said Lilly was very sweet, that her daughter had fallen in love with her, and even one of her dogs had taken a liking to her. Teresa also said Lilly would be welcome back anytime. I left feeling grateful for the care Lilly received and would happily trust Teresa with her again.”

“Winston had another wonderful stay with Marlene for 5 overnights. Marlene's communication is excellent and we are so thankful to how attentive she is to our Winston while he is in her care. Marlene provides daily updates and pictures of Winston and it means the world to us!”

“I highly recommend Jaina as a dog boarder. She truly understands dogs and spent plenty of time playing with them. Jaina is conscientious, tidy, and very responsive. Very grateful she was able to take care of my dogs.”

“Conner was wonderful with our puppy Kaia. He provided daily updates and pictures and his dog Kygo got along wonderfully with her. I’m sure Kaia can’t wait for her next stay!”

“Our dog Monster had a fantastic stay with Michelle. We felt very comfortable leaving him with her family for 9 days while we were away. She provided multiple updates throughout our trip, and it was easy to tell Monster was having a great time. Highly recommend!”
“My furbaby was comfortable with Keirstin. He spent a day with her before his 3 nights of boarding. He was quite excited to see her again to start his boarding for which I was pleased to see. While we were away, Keirstin sent us photos and updates and she was very responsive when I asked questions about his settling in her home. Thank you Keirstin.”

“Jen was super flexible on drop-off & pick up times & extended schedule. She was proactive in sending photos of my dog from walks & generous in using extra dog booties on my dogs paws to keep him cleaner. Last minute I had some probiotics & med to give my dog & she was ok with that too! I would definitely be confortable leaving my fur baby with Jen & highly recommend her.”

“This is the second time I have left my baby in the care of Tracy (and Steve). They are amazing with him! And their updates and photos/videos let me see how happy he is! Wonderful caretakers of my precious boy ♥️”

“At the last minute we needed someone to watch our furbaby. I heard abt Rover and I came across Javier’s profile. I was impressed with the reviews and his overall profile. We had a meet and greet and Button showed immediate interest. Javier’s love and care for Button exceeded every expectation. He showered us with photos and videos, gave us recommendations and great observations of Button. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND JAVIER!! I live on Staten Island and have NO PROBLEMS paying the toll and potential traffic to have someone like Javier watch Button. Book him, you will not regret the experience!”

“Bonnie was a wonderful puppy boarding sitter for my 8 month old puppy. She made sure his schedule for food and walks was followed, and he had a great time playing in their yard and interacting with the dogs in her home! There was also regular photo and video updates every day, and he came back healthy and happy. Thank you for the great care!”

Our dog Trooper, a senior pup, who can be loveable and grumpy at the same time was recently reunited with Natasha. The patience Natasha exhibited with him was amazing and far better than I could have imagined. During Trooper's boarding, he became part of Natasha's family. Natasha, provided regular updates and pictures on a regular basis. I couldn't have found a more caring person than Natasha for my fur baby. Definitely a 10/10 and I highly recommend her.

The sitter is an exceptional one. This lady was very attentive from the beginning before we booked the appointment and took the time enjoy our Asher and to send pictures. They communicated with me often and did everything we asked for, such as playing with the dog, taking him for walks, and following his daily schedule. I will definitely book them again.

Melanie has watched our Bella twice, and we couldn’t be happier with the care she provided! She is incredibly kind, caring, reliable, and attentive. Bella was comfortable and happy in her care. We felt completely at ease knowing Bella was in such loving and capable hands. It means so much to have someone we can truly trust with our furry family member. We would absolutely recommend M to anyone looking for a wonderful and dependable dog sitter!
Matthew took such good care of Noel and treated her like his own pet. You can tell he truly loves and cares for animals. He was so gentle and patient with her, especially with her anxiety. I noticed Noel had a better transition with Matthew than she had with any other sitter I have used in the past which says a lot about his character and the care he gives animals. 100% would use him again in the future. Thank you again!

My little Muffin had a blast. I booked with Julhiffer again and while I was on vacation she always kept me updated with the cutest videos and pics of my dog having a ball. She creates such a warm and animal friendly atmosphere! She is amazing ! Thank you again!

Ashley and her family were amazing! Highly recommend and will definitely be using again! She constantly sent me pictures of our pup and gave us updates daily. When we went to pickup our dog, she didn't want to leave Ashley's house lol. The best dog sitter we've ever used

Diana was wonderful. She accepted the littles last minute when my vet tech referred her for senior care after a medical boarding when my work trip was unexpectedly extended. She provided a calm stable environment for my senior blind/deaf Yorkie and administered his medication effectively. Her photos showed both dogs happy and cared for and my Maltipoo probably would have preferred to stay with Diana when I picked them up! I highly recommend her, especially if your dog has special needs as she is caring and compassionate.

This was Milo’s second stay with Jullien, and he once again provided excellent care for him. Jullien kept us updated every day and sent us pics of Milo’s adventures, and he was once again very accommodating when our flight was delayed. We are so happy that we found Jullien. It’s so reassuring to know that your pet will be comfortable and happy while you’re away. +++++++++

Could not recommend nor say enough nice things about Caren. Our dog Bailey stayed with her — she went above and beyond to make us and Bailey comfortable prior to the stay, and during sent updates daily with photos and assured Baileys comfort. We also had a family emergency during the stay and Caren was so sweet and accommodating. Would certainly recommend to anyone, and will be staying again in the future. Thanks Caren!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
