“We used David and his family all summer! Milo has an amazing time there and very well taken care of- and my dog is very high energy and still a puppy and they are always so kind! Definitely our go to family now on Rover!”

About: I have doggy sense: I know how to give space when needed and dogs warm up quick! Doggos are like babies, love em so much I have my own fur baby (7 year old bully), I'm used to giving doggos lots of care. I make sure he potties and eats when needed! Treats included! I spoil the fur babies, if allowed. I am very very careful to make sure they never escape. I am very empathetic. I care for others' dogs the way I love mine
“I am so grateful for the amazing care my dog received! I had to leave out of state unexpectedly and realized at the last minute that I had made arrangements for everyone except our family dog. Thankfully, Klainer stepped in without hesitation and made the entire experience stress-free. Klainer kept me updated daily with pictures and text messages, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear my dog was being cared for with love, patience, and attention. I truly appreciate her kindness, reliability, and professionalism. I will most definitely be using her services again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dependable dog sitter!”

“First time leaving my fur babies with a stranger. Jordy and girlfriend made this experience so easy for me. He is very easy to work with, his communication skills is top-notch and every photo he sent of my fur babies, they looked happy and thriving. He also sends pictures as well. 10/10 WILL RECOMMEND!!! Jordy you got a customer for life 💯😊 Will be booking again when need be!”

“This was my puppy’s first time not sorting at home since I got her in November and I was terrified. Maisha offered a video call, showed me her home and where my pup would sleep, and answered all 800 of my questions. This is my first pet ever so I have no idea what to do, bring, or expect and Maisha made me feel so comfortable. Safe to say, I’ve found my dog sitter for life💜”

“Roman loves staying with Caitlin and we love when he stays there too! Caitlin always communicates and sends updates and we can tell she truly cares for and loves our dog. Roman always comes back happy and content after playing with the resident dog :) we will continue to book with Caitlin for future needs!”

“We are incredibly thankful to Rajan for boarding our dog, Loki, for a little over two weeks. Loki was so well cared for and looked genuinely happy throughout her stay. She loved getting to play with other pups, which made the experience even better for her. Rajan is clearly an animal lover and treated Loki as if she were his own. We also really appreciated the regular updates, photos, and videos, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We’re very grateful for the care and attention Rajan provided and would highly recommend him.”

About: What sets me apart is simple: your pet gets my full attention in a real family home with a big backyard and two great dog parks just minutes away (South Mountain Dog Park and Livingston Dog Park). I only take one booking at a time, so your dog gets all the playtime, cuddles, and routine they need. I work from home, which means I’m here all day for potty breaks, meals, and extra love. My kids absolutely love to play with dogs (supervised, of course!), and on weekends we love hiking—high-energy pups are always welcome to join us on adventures like the Hemlock Falls trail, just a short drive away. I’m especially good with puppies (I’ve raised two from 8 weeks—potty training, crate training, bite inhibition, the whole fun chaos) and seniors (experienced with meds, gentle care, and patience). Whatever age or energy level, my family and I love helping every pet feel safe, happy, and truly at home. In my home, your pet is treated like family from the moment they arrive. They have their own large dedicated pet zone (a spacious, comfy area with beds, toys, water, and everything they need), plus access to our big backyard. I work from home full-time, so I’m always here—I follow your exact feeding and medication schedule, take dogs out as needed, and give them as much attention as they crave. My kids are gentle and dog-obsessed, so there’s always a playmate ready (fully supervised, of course). High-energy pups get multiple walks, dog-park trips, or even join our family hikes. Senior or calmer dogs get peaceful cuddles, soft bedding, and all the quiet they need. Your routine becomes my routine, and I send daily photos and videos so you can see your pet relaxed, happy, and totally at home.
“Linus stayed with Sue and her family for 12 days over the holidays & we couldn't have been happier with her care. She texted regularly and sent photos and it was clear that Linus was getting all the love and attention he would get from us. We're thrilled with Sue & will definitely use her again.”

“When we lost power after a storm, Jillian and Andrew very kindly accepted our last-minute request to take care of Ruby. It was great knowing that at least our dog was warm, comfortable and well cared-for while the people in the family were scrambling to get situated! They stayed in touch throughout the visit, sent pictures, and were very accommodating with our crazy schedule. Ruby is staying with them again soon (for a scheduled visit), and we are all looking forward to it.”
“My dog was very happy and got lots of attention and cuddles during her stay. She clearly enjoyed being with Amrit and his daughter. I got updates and photos throughout the weekend. Highly recommend.”

“This was our first time leaving Hazel & Audrey. Teresa was wonderful and so accommodating to all our puppies needs. She kept us updated on their visit with great pictures that showed they were happy and well taken care of. Her home is a great setup for taking care of dogs- especially Doxies with little legs. It made our family trip more enjoyable knowing our pups were enjoying themselves as well. Thank you Teresa.”

“Connor is fantastic! He always communicates about drop-off and pick up and is very flexible. He sends photos and videos showing our dog playing and having a great time. He is our go-to Rover and our dog loves him!”

“Anna has watched our dog, Otis, a few times now and I’m so glad we found her! Otis can be a little skittish around new people but he was immediately comfortable around both Anna and her mom. Anna has been extremely flexible when our schedule was tough to work around. Looking forward to Otis staying with her again soon!”

“This was our first time using Rover, and we honestly couldn’t have gotten luckier than finding Natasha! She was absolutely wonderful from start to finish - incredibly professional, caring, and communicative. She kept us updated throughout our dog Clark’s stay with regular messages and plenty of adorable pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind. Clark is a Cavapoo who requires a lot of attention, love, and affection, and it was immediately clear when we picked him up that he had been spoiled and incredibly well taken care of. He came home happy, relaxed, and clearly loved his time with Natasha! We will 100% be using Natasha for all of our future boarding needs. If you’re looking for someone you can completely trust with your dog, we highly recommend her. 10/10, we couldn’t be happier!”

“Jessie stayed with Tynesha and her family for four days. This was the first time she stayed with someone other than a family member. She sent me photos everyday and I could see that Jessie was happy and bring well taken care of. I will definitely use her again.”

“It was my first time leaving my puppy for several days and Tamika was great! She sent me photos and kept me updated daily which was really important to me. I could really sense that she enjoyed taking care of her. I will definitely rebook in the future 😊”

Vanessa and Kayla were amazing! They took such great care of our dog Biscotti and sent us so many updates and photos while we were away, which we really appreciated. It made us feel so much better knowing she was in such good hands. We would definitely use them again!

The sitter is an exceptional one. This lady was very attentive from the beginning before we booked the appointment and took the time enjoy our Asher and to send pictures. They communicated with me often and did everything we asked for, such as playing with the dog, taking him for walks, and following his daily schedule. I will definitely book them again.

Kayla and Vanessa were wonderful hosts for our dog Cusco! They are super sweet and welcoming, and have lots of experience. They sent us cute photos the entire stay and Cusco looked very happy. Communication was topnotch--thorough and transparent. They really took the time to get to know Cusco's needs/schedule/personality. Peace of mind is priceless when it comes to care for our furry ones, and we definitely had that. 100% would rebook with them. Thank you ladies!!

Matthew took such good care of Noel and treated her like his own pet. You can tell he truly loves and cares for animals. He was so gentle and patient with her, especially with her anxiety. I noticed Noel had a better transition with Matthew than she had with any other sitter I have used in the past which says a lot about his character and the care he gives animals. 100% would use him again in the future. Thank you again!

Sharon took great care of my dog over a long weekend! She was very communicative both in booking, scheduling and confirming. She sent pictures every day which I really appreciated! It gave me peace of mind to know everything was ok. It was clear that my dog was well looked after at her house! I will definitely use her again.

Anna is such an amazing doggy host. Theo was so adorable and friendly. Her backyard is absolutely perfect. It's huge, wide open, totally fenced in, so much flat grass and even a patio for Reggie to cool off on. Reggie didn't want to leave when we picked him up and when we got home Reggie fell asleep so quick. It was such a relief to find such an amazing host who treated my dog like her own. 5 ⭐️'s all around!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
