“Jessica did a wonderful job watching our dog over vacation. It was our first time leaving our dog with someone outside our family and we were a bit nervous. Jessica let us come over to do a meet and greet so that we could feel comfortable with where our dog would be staying. She has a wonderful fenced-in yard where the dogs can run around and play. We will definitely be using Jessica again to board our dog.”

“Vanessa watched my Frenchie while I was on a long vacation and she couldn’t have been more accommodating and attentive. She sent lots of pictures each day, checked in before she gave him a new treat which I really appreciated, and kept us in the loop on how he was eating and how his walks were. It was wildly hot when she watched him and she was mindful of keeping his walks short and limiting his exposure to the blacktop. She has experience with Brachycephalic dogs which made me even more comfortable leaving my Frenchie with her. I recommend her and already have plans to book her in the future!”

“Pia’s stay with Charles was great. He is an awesome person who truly loves the pets he cares for. He shared pictures time to time keeping us informed of Pia’s well being. I am grateful to have met Charles and highly recommend him. We are definitely returning next time Pia needs a break from us 😊”

“If “amazing dog sitter” could have an image for a definition it would be Maisha! I’ve left my baby with her many times now and I trust her very much with my fur baby. If you’re looking for someone or trying to switch to a new sitter, Maisha is your girl 🤍”

“For Gita’s first overnight stay, we chose Jessica and we are so glad we did. We had peace of mind knowing that Gita would be at an attentive home with only small dogs. We received many photo updates and could tell Gita was having a ball- making friends and getting all of the cuddles! We will definitely choose Jessica in the future.”

“Cosmo had a wonderful time with Sriram and his family. We got regular updates including photos. They were very flexible to accommodate all our requests to keep him and us at ease. We will certainly send Cosmo back to them whenever we need boarding for him. Highly recommend them.”

“Jonathan, as usual, is an amazing sitter. I never worry about my pup and he’s always happy being dropped off and picked up. If you’d like a worry free time away from your dog, don’t hesitate to book with Jonathan.”

“I had such a wonderful first-time dog-sitting experience thanks to Starry and Gio. They are absolutely awesome and took amazing care of Billion. It's like a winter camp for him. I got tons of cute photos and message updates, which kept me totally worry-free the whole time. I would highly recommend them and will definitely book again!”

“Chelsea was great. She was open to a meet & great before the actual stay so we could meet her and she meet my 6 year golden retriever. She has thoroughly thought out all the information she needs to know to make the four-legged guest comfortable and me relaxed. She is located in a quiet neighborhood with a well kept home. We have already booked two more stays. Thank you Chelsea for taking such good care of my Brody.”

“Jaclynn was great! I have a small dog (8 pounds). So I was pretty worried about leaving her. Jaclynn sent me updates. I can tell she really loves what she does. The back yard is great for dogs to run all day. I will definitely be using her again in the future.”

“Darien is everything we could ask for in a dog sitter. Our dogs always have so much fun from playing in their big, clean backyard and receive a lot of love from Darien and her family. After a fun day, my dogs always end their day sleeping peacefully and comfortably. Darien also somehow magically makes my dogs even more behaved than ever, and they always come home refreshed and happy. The dogs have deemed Darien’s home as their favorite vacation destination, and will always trust Darien with my dogs any time!”

“Our dog Monster had a fantastic stay with Michelle. We felt very comfortable leaving him with her family for 9 days while we were away. She provided multiple updates throughout our trip, and it was easy to tell Monster was having a great time. Highly recommend!”

“I was so fortunate to find Amy just before our vacation given alternate plans that had fallen through. She is super friendly and accommodating, thorough and responsive. Took great care of my babies as if they were her own and they had a great time on their stay, given the many couch lounging photos sent daily. Thank you and will be our preferred booking moving forward.”

“Jennifer is so great with Brioche. She is kind and patient and takes the best pictures, letting me know Brioche loves being in her care. Brioche is a tough dog, due to his special needs but Jennifer is someone id trust him with 10x over. Thank you!”

“Chelsea took excellent care of our fur baby, so much so that she was a bit sad for a few days missing Poppy and all the extra attention. We felt like she was in vacation while we took ours so we were able to relax knowing she was well taken care of by a family similar to ours. Really appreciated the updates as well. Overall, very happy with our first Rover experience!”

“We felt so comfortable boarding our dog with Seureon and Dongkwan! We received tons of photo updates throughout his stay, and they were responsive and flexible whenever communicating through logistics. Our dog is very hyper, but he seemed nice and worn out from playing when we picked him up. We will be boarding our dog here again!”

“Tracey and Steven were great caretakers for my greyhound. Communication was consistent and my dog seemed to be happy in their home. Would definitely use them again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Florham Park
Kayla and Vanessa were wonderful hosts for our dog Cusco! They are super sweet and welcoming, and have lots of experience. They sent us cute photos the entire stay and Cusco looked very happy. Communication was topnotch--thorough and transparent. They really took the time to get to know Cusco's needs/schedule/personality. Peace of mind is priceless when it comes to care for our furry ones, and we definitely had that. 100% would rebook with them. Thank you ladies!!

Yi Fei is an amazing cat sitter! She took great care of my cat and was very attentive. Every day, she sent me detailed updates with lots of photos, which made me feel so comfortable. My cat was very happy staying with her—so happy that my cat didn't even want to leave! I highly recommend Yi Fei to anyone who needs a kind and caring cat sitter.

Rex always enjoys his time Trevor, Bydette, and their kids. He loves being in a family home, getting to meet and play with a few other dogs, and get outside in their grassy yard. We feel confident while we're away that he is not only cared as an individual pup, but he is enjoyed by the family as well!

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Gabriel took such amazing care of our Moon, while we were away. From the very first message, he was friendly, communicative, and clearly experienced. We got regular updates, photos, and little notes that showed how much attention and affection our baby was getting. It gave us total peace of mind knowing Moon was in such good hands. When we came home, Moon was happy, relaxed, and clearly well loved. We’ll absolutely be booking with Gabriel again — highly recommend to anyone looking for a truly reliable and caring sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
