“Anne was great with my dog when we needed a dog walker last minute! She was responsive, friendly, and great at dealing with our little energetic pup. I enjoyed the cute pictures she sent each day as well! Would definitely trust her for future walks.”

About: I have grown up with dogs my entire life, whether it was taking care of my friends pets while they were away, or my own, I have always loved animals, specially dogs. I currently have three dogs of my own (ages 13, 6, and 1), which has given me experience caring for dogs at every stage of life, from being patient and gentle with seniors to keeping the younger pups active and happy. I’m excited to start offering my care to other families and would love the opportunity to treat your pets like my own. I enjoy going on walks, have experience walking multiple dogs, following feeding routines, and making sure each dog feels safe, comfortable, and cared for. I understand that every dog has their own personality and needs, and I take the time to make sure they feel happy and loved while they’re in my care. I currently have a part-time job that is very flexible, which allows me to easily work pet care into my daily routine. I enjoy walking every day, whether I have a furry companion with me or not, so adding walks and visits into my schedule is something I truly look forward to. I also have my own reliable transportation, making it easy for me to get to and from clients’ homes. My work hours are short, and I have multiple days where I am not scheduled, giving me plenty of availability and flexibility to provide dependable care when your pup needs it. I provide care in your pet’s home so they can stay comfortable and relaxed in their own familiar environment. I understand that every pet has their own routine, personality, and needs, so I make sure to follow any instructions you provide regarding feeding, walks, playtime, and daily habits. During visits, I would focus on giving pets plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship while making sure they feel safe and cared for. I enjoy going on walks, spending time playing, and giving pets the love and patience they deserve while their owners are away. I treat every pet and home with the same care and respect that I would want for my own dogs.
“Jillian was fantastic with my dog who doesn't always warm to strangers. She's be so happy to see her every day. Jillian was very punctual and communicative. She sent detailed updates every day. I highly recommend her!”

“Nicholas was wonderful with my dog, who can be skittish with new people. He came for a meet and greet, and was very communicative throughout the week. He even cleaned my stairs as there was inclement weather! I highly recommend.”

“Daniela was amazing with our Saige whom is 10 1/2 and gone thru Chemo for her lymphoma over the past 2 1/2 years and became completely blind 6 months ago. Daniela was very kind and patient with her as Saige walks very slowly being nervous of her surroundings due to her blindness. Daniela made Saige feel very confident while taking her on her walks and was timely and communicated and sent pictures while she had her out for walks :) She truly spoke and was very sweet to our Saige as if she was her own dog ; which was very comforting to us; we will definately reach out to Daniela in the future when we are back in town !”

About: I have a dog and cat of my own and raised them since puppyhood/kittenhood. I believe all furbabies deserve the most loving care and attention possible. I’m available on both weekdays and weekends for boarding, visits, and walks. Feel free to reach out and I will work with your unique schedule. If your fur-baby is more shy or independent, I have extra rooms where they can rest comfortably and confidently. If your fur-baby is more social, I have two pets that can keep them company. Safe community with private walking paths and not much traffic for peaceful dog walks.
About: I have had two cats all my life which I have cared for, fed and changed litter for. I also have experience with walking and caring for dogs. I am free anytime from here up until the 16th of August which is when I will be going back to college, but I will be free when winter break comes around. My cats are house cats so it is very easy for me to keep them safe. I shoo them away from anything dangerous or anything they shouldn’t be messing with quickly. As for dogs, I always keep an eye on them and have a tight grip on their leash when walking them so they don’t run off.

About: As a speech therapist for 10 months out of the year, I primarily work with children and enjoy spending summers outdoors with my own dog, Cooper. I have 10 years of experience pet sitting and dog walking, through Rover as well as for friends and neighbors. I am comfortable maintaining your dog’s training and walking routines to ensure safe, fun walks together! (Cooper will stay at home, he is a whole lot of 100 lbs and receives his own walks. He does not resource guard and has never been a bite risk). I’m looking to dog walk and/or dog sit in the summer, when I am off from my public school job. This would be during the months of July and August, but depending on the hour I can be available before July (after 4:30 pm). During the summer I have a very flexible schedule. I have a fenced in yard and a split level home. I can keep our dogs separate or introduce them depending on your preference and whether they can acclimate (Cooper is a big boy but docile and friendly).

I am able to care for multiple pets at once, and have a car on campus so I am able to take any job. I am a college student with avalability sporadically so please reach out about specific days and times that you would need care. “Claire was absolutely amazing! She took care of our two dogs for two weeks and treated them like her own. Super reliable, communicative, and clearly an animal lover. We came home to happy, well-exercised pups and couldn’t be more grateful for the peace of mind she gave us while we were away. Highly recommend Claire to anyone looking for a responsible and caring dog walker!”

“Grace was great with our dog and made us feel comfortable during multiple overnight sits and walks! She kept us continually updated and took excellent care of him. We’re glad to have found someone our dog really connects with 😊 We’d happily book with Grace again and highly recommend her!”

About: I’ve spent the last 6 years caring for dogs and cats for families in my neighborhood, including puppies, high‑energy dogs, and seniors who need a gentler pace. I regularly do dog walking, drop‑in visits, and house sitting, and I follow each pet’s routine closely—feeding, medications, walks, and playtime. I treat every animal like my own, send lots of photo updates, and make sure they feel safe, loved, and relaxed while their people are away. I keep my calendar up to date and respond quickly so we can find times that fit your schedule. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I stick closely to the routines you already have in place—feeding schedule, walk times, and house rules. I always double‑check doors, gates, and leashes, and I watch for any changes in behavior or appetite that might signal a problem. I’m respectful of your home, keep things tidy, and send clear updates and photos so you always know how your pets are doing.

“Alex was wonderful and took great care of my sweet puppy! She went above and beyond to make sure she ate her lunch. Great communication! She shared lots of cute photos! Definitely recommend!”

About: Hi, I'm Xiomara and currently live in the Chatham, NJ area. I'm a huge lover of pets and have had many growing up and continuing over the years into adulthood. I currently have one cat at home, who is almost 14 years old and at times help take care of my family's Shih Tzu. Our previous family dog had diabetes, so I have experience administering medication should that be necessary. I love dogs and cats, whether they are young or old equally, and you can trust your pet will get the best treatment from me. I work from home with a pretty flexible schedule, so I'll have time to play with your fur babies and am available any day you may need. My home is smoke free, one level and has just enough space for your pet to run around safely. My cat will also be around to keep them company.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
