“Maisha is the best dog sitter ever! She sends updates/pictures often, and ensured that my fur baby was having the best time. He enjoyed his stay!”

“Tracy and Steve were such great people to leave our pup with for a week! Lots of videos and photos and just lovely communication. Great yard for the dogs to run around in! Will happily use them again :)”

“Caroline and her family looked after Clover really well. He always looked happy in the videos and pictures that were sent; he especially looked happy playing with other dogs and also playing with her son. He is always happy to go into her house when I leave him off.”

“David & Angelica have the perfect haven for our fur babies, and Tux thoroughly enjoyed himself. Every picture they sent he was really smiling! They were both very kind and friendly. I'll definitely book them again and highly recommend them for boarding.”

“Cherie and her family were great hosts for our canine family member Gigi . Gigi received great care and had lots of fun with the family puppy and young son - whom Gigi now regards as one of her very best human friends (he knows how to really throw a ball).”

“Jen was super flexible on drop-off & pick up times & extended schedule. She was proactive in sending photos of my dog from walks & generous in using extra dog booties on my dogs paws to keep him cleaner. Last minute I had some probiotics & med to give my dog & she was ok with that too! I would definitely be confortable leaving my fur baby with Jen & highly recommend her.”

“Ekaterina was amazing with Zoey! She gave me lots of updates and took such great care of her. She did an amazing job and her kids were so gentle with Zoey too! During Zoey’s stay, she had to take medication and was healing from a cut on her leg - Ekaterina did an amazing job making sure she was being cared for properly. I would love for her to watch Zoey in the future again!”

“Caitlin was absolutely wonderful! She was so loving and attentive with Xena and Doug and made us feel completely comfortable leaving them in her care. She sent frequent updates and photos, and it was clear how much love and attention she gave them throughout their stay. Our dogs clearly adored her and had the best time. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely trust Caitlin with them again!”

“Jenny was great, patience, kind and communicative. She sent pictures and replied to our messages. Most importantly she was sweet to our fearful dog Tessa and made her feel safe. I would recommend her to anyone.”

“Dee boarded our dog, Cody for the first time last week and she exceeded my expectations. She cared for our dog, as if he were her dog. She shared multiple updates with me each day. She made me feel so comfortable to be away and enjoy my vacation knowing our beloved Cody was cared for by the best! I would highly recommend Dee for any of your needs for your beloved pets. She is truly a loving care provider! I am sure Cody is already looking forward to his next stay with Dee!”

About: I am patient and will let your dog sniff around all they want. I am caring and will ensure the path your dog is walking on is safe for their paws. And I am energetic, leaving your dog tired when they come home. I will care for your dog by keeping them on a leash and bringing water for when they get thirsty. With your cat, I will first let them sniff me and warm up to me. They’ll soon cuddle up to me. I am available most days before 9am, at lunchtime (between 12pm and 2pm) and after 5pm. For house visits, I am able to stay either all day or all night and pop during the day for mealtimes/potty breaks. While in your home, I am mindful of your space and will follow your instructions. For boarding visits, I live near a park and can take your pet out 3-4 times a day. Unfortunately while I understand everyone’s needs/customs are different, I do no accept dogs that either use an indoor doggy potty or are not house trained.
“This is my second booking with Yuberkis, and it was just as wonderful as the first. I fully trust that my Elphie is being thoroughly cared for and having the best time while I am away. I’m so grateful to have Yuberkis as a sitter!”

“Our dog Happy had a great stay with Brianna. It was the first time we ever boarded our dog, so we were nervous at first, but Brianna was very welcoming and our dog warmed up to her quickly. This was our quick test to make sure our dog (and we) could handle the separation for a short period of time, as a bridge to boarding her for a longer stretch of time. Our dog passed due to Brianna's hospitality, so we are much more comfortable boarding her for a longer stay with Brianna very soon! Thanks so much, Brianna and family!”

“Diana was kind, patient, and very adaptable. My dog had a nervous tummy during his stay, and she not only adjusted his food but also made sure he got plenty of cuddles and care to feel at ease in a new environment. Diana’s experience with dogs really shows—she understands their needs and well-being. I felt completely comfortable leaving my pup with her, and you can too!”

“Paul does an amazing job with our dog. We can finally take time off with peace of mind that Prada is in great hands and getting great care while we’re away. Extremely pleased!”

“We were very nervous about leaving our older, medicine-requiring dog at a boarding home, but Louis made us feel at ease — both before we started the stay as well as throughout our dog’s boarding— we received regular updates and photos which comforted us greatly. Louis clearly loves dogs and provides a wonderful environment for them. I have no reservations in using him again and I would enthusiastically recommend him to anyone else who seeks a loving home for their dog while they are away.”
“Luis and his wife were wonderful with our dog Petunia! We got daily photo updates and she was so happy to go with him the day I dropped her off. It seemed like she had a great time with them and we'll definitely be working with Luis for future care needs.”

Yi Fei is an amazing cat sitter! She took great care of my cat and was very attentive. Every day, she sent me detailed updates with lots of photos, which made me feel so comfortable. My cat was very happy staying with her—so happy that my cat didn't even want to leave! I highly recommend Yi Fei to anyone who needs a kind and caring cat sitter.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Gabriel took such amazing care of our Moon, while we were away. From the very first message, he was friendly, communicative, and clearly experienced. We got regular updates, photos, and little notes that showed how much attention and affection our baby was getting. It gave us total peace of mind knowing Moon was in such good hands. When we came home, Moon was happy, relaxed, and clearly well loved. We’ll absolutely be booking with Gabriel again — highly recommend to anyone looking for a truly reliable and caring sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
