“Maggie enjoyed her stay with Carolina! I felt very comfortable leaving Maggie there. I received updates and pictures during her stay. She also enjoyed playing with her dog Daisy! I will definitely be using Carolina again! Thank you so much Carolina for taking such good care of Maggie during her stay!”

“Suely was excellent. She sent us photo/video of our dogs that gave us peace of mind while on our trip, and the dogs had a great time at her home. We will definitely be requesting her again next time we travel.”

“Erinn was great! She was very quick to respond to all my messages and updated me every day with how things were going with Mochi. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter.”

“Dawn was absolutely fantastic! We left our dog with her for around 10 days while we were out of the country and Dawn kept us continuously informed with pictures and updates. Even though we were away for a while, we felt our dog was safe and in good hands - probably had a vacation of his own! When we got back, we could tell our dog enjoyed his stay and we will definitely look to Dawn again for future boardings. 100% recommend!!”

“Lisa is amazing! She did a great job keeping us updated with pics & videos. Our dog has never looked this happy when we’ve gone away. She kept her active with walks & playtime with her pup. Highly recommend!”

About: I am patient and will let your dog sniff around all they want. I am caring and will ensure the path your dog is walking on is safe for their paws. And I am energetic, leaving your dog tired when they come home. I will care for your dog by keeping them on a leash and bringing water for when they get thirsty. With your cat, I will first let them sniff me and warm up to me. They’ll soon cuddle up to me. I am available most days before 9am, at lunchtime (between 12pm and 2pm) and after 5pm. For house visits, I am able to stay either all day or all night and pop during the day for mealtimes/potty breaks. While in your home, I am mindful of your space and will follow your instructions. For boarding visits, I live near a park and can take your pet out 3-4 times a day. Unfortunately while I understand everyone’s needs/customs are different, I do no accept dogs that either use an indoor doggy potty or are not house trained.
“Cannot thank Tracy and Steve enough for taking such good care of our dog, Peppa! It was nice to get regular updates via both photos and videos. You could just tell that Peppa was having a great time and was in good hands! We would definitely recommend Tracy and Steve whose level of excellent care gave us peace of mind. Thanks to them again!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Eunice. She took such great care of our dog and made sure he felt safe, comfortable, and loved throughout the stay. It was clear from the updates and photos that our dog was happy and well cared for. Communication was excellent, and we really appreciated the kindness, attention, and genuine affection she showed. It was such a relief to know our dog was in such good hands. We would absolutely book with Eunice again and highly recommend them her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter.”

“Milena was amazing I felt so comfortable leaving my sick girl with her. She was careful to write down all medication instructions (4 different medications taken 2 or 3 times a day) She was also kind to me - I had never left my dog with a stranger let alone when she was sick. I am sooo grateful Milena helped me. She sent pictures and told me how everything was going. I have already asked her to be my go to when I must leave my dog for a few days. She is awesome … so loving and caring I felt soooo lucky to have happened upon a kind soul to care for my helpless sick dog while I had to be away. I highly recommend her and am soo grateful to have met her on this app - Milena thank you for your help.”

About: I’m a caring, patient, and reliable pet sitter who treats every pet like they’re my own. I’m attentive to each pet’s individual personality and needs, and I’m happy to provide plenty of playtime, walks, cuddles, and attention. I’m also responsible and communicative, so you can feel comfortable knowing your pet is in good hands while you’re away! 🐾 I’m in college Monday–Thursday during the day, but I’m available in the early mornings before 7am, afternoons after 1pm, and on weekends for pet care. I have a flexible schedule outside of classes and can work with your pet’s routine and needs! I make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in their own home. I follow their normal routine for feeding, playtime, litter box cleaning, walks, and anything else they need. I also give them plenty of attention and keep their space clean and comfortable while their owners are away!

About: My loving pet sitting services comes with long walks, access to my fenced in back yard, and endless cuddles and play time with my family (including 3 kids ages 10, 10, 13). I can set up gates to restrict access if needed but I generally give dogs full run of my first floor, including sofas, so I generally limit day care and overnights to fully potty-trained dogs with zero aggression. I don't accept dogs from multiples homes in 1 stay but am open to more than 1 dog from the same home coming together. I work from home and my kids walk themselves to school and sports, so I'm very flexible to take your dog out to the backyard as often as needed, and we can also do several short walks and/or a longer walk, depending on what they like. With play time and cuddles thrown in throughout the day, of course! I have a 6' high fenced in back yard, however we do have the occasional rabbit or ground hog digging under the fence, so we can do a perimeter check before letting small dogs run free, or I can keep them leashed for potty breaks. It's totally up to you if you want them to run around freely or not, but we are always out there supervising.
“Tricia was absolutely wonderful with our pup, Lani! This was our first time booking with her, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She clearly has excellent knowledge when it comes to dog introductions and made sure Lani felt comfortable from the start. Her yard is fantastic, spacious, super clean, and thoughtfully designed with a shaded sand pit and a dig zone that Lani loved exploring. We also really appreciated the photo updates throughout the stay! When our flight was unexpectedly canceled, Tricia was incredibly accommodating, even on such short notice. That flexibility meant so much to us. We’re so grateful for her care and would definitely book with her again!”

About: As a lifelong animal lover, caring for pets has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I have over 15 years of experience pet sitting for friends, family, and neighbors, giving me a strong foundation in providing safe, attentive, and affectionate care. From energetic pups needing extra playtime to gentle seniors who prefer a calm, steady routine, I’m comfortable adapting to whatever your pet needs to feel right at home. I work from home full-time, which means your pet will have company, attention, and potability breaks throughout the day rather than being left alone for long stretches. While I don’t have pets of my own, I live with my sister and her Great Pyrenees mix—a super friendly, easygoing dog who loves meeting both people and other animals. When your pet is with me, they’ll be treated just like family. You can count on frequent updates, photo check-ins, and plenty of belly rubs so you can have complete peace of mind while you're away! Because I work from home full-time, pet care seamlessly integrates into my daily routine! Since I'm here throughout the day, guest pets are never left alone for long periods. Throughout the week, my flexible schedule allows me to easily accommodate feeding times, medication needs, and individual routines so your pet feels completely comfortable and cared for. In my home, your pet will be treated like a member of the family. Because I work from home full-time, guest pets enjoy constant supervision, regular potability breaks, and a relaxed, comfortable environment. We have a fenced in yard and a 4 year old Great Pyrenees mix. When caring for pets in your home, my top priority is maintaining their normal routine in the environment where they feel safest.
“This was my puppy’s first time not sorting at home since I got her in November and I was terrified. Maisha offered a video call, showed me her home and where my pup would sleep, and answered all 800 of my questions. This is my first pet ever so I have no idea what to do, bring, or expect and Maisha made me feel so comfortable. Safe to say, I’ve found my dog sitter for life💜”

“Jaina was very responsive when we had a last minute booking for our dog. He was well taken care of and we got daily updates about how he was doing. Brewster is excited to visit again soon!”

“Caroline and her family looked after Clover really well. He always looked happy in the videos and pictures that were sent; he especially looked happy playing with other dogs and also playing with her son. He is always happy to go into her house when I leave him off.”

“Joe and his family were awesome and made my dog feel just like at home. My dog received lots of pets, exercise in the fenced in backyard and attentive care. We got pictures and videos daily along with updates on his activities. I will continue to use his services in the future.”

Cookie was taken such great care of by Louis! This was our first time leaving Cookie with someone we didn’t know and Louis was so kind to her and patient. She was anxious when we left her but she seemed to adjust well and start playing with her new doggie friends. Loved that Cookie got to spend so much time outside and running around free to explore. Thank you so much Louis for taking care of our little lady 😊

Chelsea took great care of Finn, our 5-year old Australian labradoodle. She was very responsive and communicated often with updates and pictures. Finn had fun walking and playing and was very comfortable staying in her home with her family and sheepdog dog Sundae. Finn got lots of snuggles and pets, which made us feel better about being away from him. We will definitely book Chelsea again.

Jillian was absolutely wonderful! She was so warm and inviting, and Rosie took to her immediately. She kept me updated throughout my trip, which gave me such peace of mind while I was away. Rosie came home happy, healthy, and comfortable, and I could tell she had been very well cared for. I would absolutely recommend Jillian and would happily trust her with Rosie again!

Jonathan was great with both of our dogs. He had great communication, sent us pictures and videos of the girls. He was also accommodating when our flight was canceled and we had to book an extra 2 days with him. We would definitely re-book with him in the future!

Dhurti took wonderful care of Oreo! She had great communication throughout the entire stay and sent lots of pictures and updates, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. Oreo looked happy, comfortable, and well cared for. We really appreciated her kindness and would definitely book with her again. Highly recommend!

Charles took great care of our 6-months old Goldendoodle, Maxie, during 5 days boarding. He was very responsive and made us feel comfortable leaving our puppy for the 1st time. When we picked him up, Maxie was happy, it was clear he had been very well taken care for. In fact, Maxie seemed so comfortable that he did not want to leave. We would absolutely use Charles again. Thank you!

This is the third time that Charina and Sunny have watched our dog Max and I cannot say enough about how wonderful they are. I trust them fully to not only take great care of him, but also to diligently give him his meds and address his health. Their home is a perfect place for dogs and the pictures that Charina takes and sends to us are helpful and really nice! Thx so much!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
