“Louis always takes great care of my girl and she always comes back happy and relaxed. Louis also provides wonderful pictures of my girl and I really appreciate them - they give me great confidence in how happy she is there :)”

“Michelle was quickly responsive and agreeable (even though it was a very early drop off) to watch my dog Lulu. She sent me photos of Lulu multiple times and walked twice her as well during an 8 hour visit. Lulu got along well with Michele’s dog Lola.”

“This was my first time boarding my dog, and Amanda made his entire stay worry-free. My dog had an absolute blast! He enjoyed tons of play time and cuddles, along with a consistent schedule. I really appreciated Amanda treating him like her own, and all of the thorough updates. Highly recommend!”

“Hao and his lovely family were amazing with our Ripley. He sent pictures and videos throughout her stay so that we can receive updates on how our baby girl was doing. We could tell that she was very well taken care of and he treated her like she was his own. We would highly recommend Hao if you need someone who you can trust with your fur baby. We were very appreciative of his care and how open and communicative he was with us. Hao was also very accommodating! 5 stars all the way!!”

“Stan and Barbara were wonderful! Our dog felt comfortable right away and we could see how happy he was in all the pictures they sent us. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Cooper with them again. We are very grateful we found them.”

“Once again, Lynn and Marty provided stellar care and communication. One of our dogs required even extra care and they rose to the challenge without hesitation. We are extremely grateful for the care and love they show to our senior dogs/fur babies.”

“Kelsie was great. Enjoyed getting photos of our dog (we missed her) lounging in the sun. Nala seemed very comfortable during her stay and came back to us properly spoiled. Would definitely use Kelsie again!”

About: I am patient and will let your dog sniff around all they want. I am caring and will ensure the path your dog is walking on is safe for their paws. And I am energetic, leaving your dog tired when they come home. I will care for your dog by keeping them on a leash and bringing water for when they get thirsty. With your cat, I will first let them sniff me and warm up to me. They’ll soon cuddle up to me. I am available most days before 9am, at lunchtime (between 12pm and 2pm) and after 5pm. For house visits, I am able to stay either all day or all night and pop during the day for mealtimes/potty breaks. While in your home, I am mindful of your space and will follow your instructions. For boarding visits, I live near a park and can take your pet out 3-4 times a day. Unfortunately while I understand everyone’s needs/customs are different, I do no accept dogs that either use an indoor doggy potty or are not house trained.
“Kristin was a wonderful host!! She was communicative with us everyday, flexible with drop off and pick up schedule, and we could tell Samson was comfortable, happy and well cared for. She understood our anxiety and concerns about leaving our four legged baby, and really put us at ease. Kristin was professional and responsive, and we would highly recommend her to care for your doggie. Jose and Carolyn Lugo ”

“Suely took a great care of my dog for a week. She is a very caring and dog loving person. She kept my dog busy and entertained throughout the stay and sent pictures and videos daily. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to board their dogs and I’ll definitely revisit again in the future!”

“I feel so happy I found this beautiful family to take care of my pup. Marisol and John took care of Rio like another member of the family, so great he had big space to explore and be free. They are the best and I can totally tell my pup loved his stayed in their house 😊”

“We had a really great experience with Irem! They were super easy to communicate with and took great care of my dog. I loved getting updates and photos—it made me feel so much more relaxed while I was away. My dog came back happy and well cared for. Would definitely book again!”

“Amy was great. This was our first time leaving our very shy dog with someone, and we were confident she was in great hands and received lots of love. We would use Amy again without hesitation.”

“We would give 10 stars if we could! Tricia had our Labrador Retriever/Catahoula Leopard mix Lenny for a little over a week and it was the first time we had ever left him anywhere. At our first meeting, it was clear that Tricia has a tremendous amount of experience and know-how when it comes to dogs, and I knew immediately that we were in great hands. She calmed our nerves and assured us that she would keep us updated while we were away. She helped our guy settle into a routine quickly and she did an extraordinary job handling his food issues (we sent pre-made table food for her to give him). While we were away, she was an excellent communicator and sent us various pictures of him during different times of the day. He looked so happy that we were afraid he wouldn't want to come home! When we picked him up, he was happy, healthy, clean, and showed obvious affection towards Tricia. We are so incredibly relieved that we found her to watch Lenny if and when we need to travel without our boy. With gratitude, from Laura (Lenny's Mom).”

“Darien is everything we could ask for in a dog sitter. Our dogs always have so much fun from playing in their big, clean backyard and receive a lot of love from Darien and her family. After a fun day, my dogs always end their day sleeping peacefully and comfortably. Darien also somehow magically makes my dogs even more behaved than ever, and they always come home refreshed and happy. The dogs have deemed Darien’s home as their favorite vacation destination, and will always trust Darien with my dogs any time!”

“Joe and his family took exceptional care of our two dogs! Communication was excellent from when we first reached out, through Apache and Loki's stay at their wonderful home. Joe's family was attentive to our dogs' needs, and made them feel right at home. They were great with sending pictures at various points throughout the day as well! 100% would book with this wonderful family again!”

“Britney was fantastic with our girl, Sydney (14 month old F Cavapoo.) I was able to book her stay with short notice and Britney was very quick to respond, both during the booking & the stay. Sydney is a velcro dog & received all the snuggles she is used to getting at home while staying with Britney & her family.”

“Erin was great with our three dogs. It was their first time staying at someone else's house and they were acting up. She was willing to bring them back to my house and watch them there. I love that she was flexible and honest. She took great care of them. I was over three hours away and was so glad that she was able to come up with plan B and execute it. She was so flexible, accommodating and friendly. She made me feel at ease. We would definitely book her again.”

“Shaun and his family take great care of our pup Skye, who always comes home happy and tired. I feel extremely confident that Skye is treated as a part of their family.”

Cookie was taken such great care of by Louis! This was our first time leaving Cookie with someone we didn’t know and Louis was so kind to her and patient. She was anxious when we left her but she seemed to adjust well and start playing with her new doggie friends. Loved that Cookie got to spend so much time outside and running around free to explore. Thank you so much Louis for taking care of our little lady 😊

Chelsea took great care of Finn, our 5-year old Australian labradoodle. She was very responsive and communicated often with updates and pictures. Finn had fun walking and playing and was very comfortable staying in her home with her family and sheepdog dog Sundae. Finn got lots of snuggles and pets, which made us feel better about being away from him. We will definitely book Chelsea again.

Jillian was absolutely wonderful! She was so warm and inviting, and Rosie took to her immediately. She kept me updated throughout my trip, which gave me such peace of mind while I was away. Rosie came home happy, healthy, and comfortable, and I could tell she had been very well cared for. I would absolutely recommend Jillian and would happily trust her with Rosie again!

Jonathan was great with both of our dogs. He had great communication, sent us pictures and videos of the girls. He was also accommodating when our flight was canceled and we had to book an extra 2 days with him. We would definitely re-book with him in the future!

Charles took great care of our 6-months old Goldendoodle, Maxie, during 5 days boarding. He was very responsive and made us feel comfortable leaving our puppy for the 1st time. When we picked him up, Maxie was happy, it was clear he had been very well taken care for. In fact, Maxie seemed so comfortable that he did not want to leave. We would absolutely use Charles again. Thank you!

We had such a great experience using Ruyi. She was kind, pleasant, and always stayed in contact with us. She sent me multiple pictures and updates throughout my dog’s stay and even had a video call with be before hand to show me exactly where my dogs would be. I will definitely be bringing my dogs back to stay with her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
