“Teresa is so sweet and kind. You can tell she really loves animals. Kuma had a great time with her and he’s someone that takes a while to warm up other people. It probably helped that her own dogs are so welcoming as well. I highly recommend.”

“Maggie enjoyed her stay with Carolina! I felt very comfortable leaving Maggie there. I received updates and pictures during her stay. She also enjoyed playing with her dog Daisy! I will definitely be using Carolina again! Thank you so much Carolina for taking such good care of Maggie during her stay!”

“Lynn and Marty did a great job taking care of our dog for 13 nights! It was our first time using Rover / Lynn and we couldn't have been more pleased. Lynn had great communication with us and was extremely timely with updates / feedback on how the stay was going. Don't hesitate to book Lynn if you are considering a sitter!”

“Lisa is amazing! She did a great job keeping us updated with pics & videos. Our dog has never looked this happy when we’ve gone away. She kept her active with walks & playtime with her pup. Highly recommend!”

“Absolutely exceptional care for my pup. She’s shy and very attached to us, but it was clear from the pics, videos, and at pickup that she felt right at home. She was well taken care of and I loved getting daily updates. Will definitely use them again.”

“We had a really great experience with Irem! They were super easy to communicate with and took great care of my dog. I loved getting updates and photos—it made me feel so much more relaxed while I was away. My dog came back happy and well cared for. Would definitely book again!”

“Shaun and his family were an amazing host! He took very good care of our dog, taking her on daily walks, playing with her and sending frequent updates and pictures. We highly recommend Shaun and will look for him in the future.”

“Kathy and Vivian took amazing care of our dog, Chloe, while we were away visiting family for over a week. They sent us photos every single day, which truly put us at ease, and communication was always smooth and thoughtful. When we picked Chloe up, she was so happy and clearly well‑loved. We highly recommend and we’ll definitely be booking with them again.”

“Darien and her family took amazing care of my pup and we are so grateful. We will absolutely be back! She worked with me for a pre meet and greet for myself and my pup. She got my dog to be more comfortable with her food and her surroundings in a new place with ease.”

About: Hi! We’re Shirley and Anthony—a dependable husband-and-wife team who absolutely love dogs. I’m a pharmacist, and Anthony is a lifelong dog owner who works from home, so your dog will have round-the-clock care, attention, and affection. We’ve cared for dogs of all ages and personalities—from playful pups to slow-moving seniors. We’re gentle, patient, and happy to accommodate special routines, quirks, or needs. I have a healthcare background, so I’m comfortable with basic medication instructions and noticing if something seems off. Anthony, who has raised dogs his whole life, is calm, observant, and has a natural way of making dogs feel safe and relaxed. Anthony is home all day, and I have a flexible schedule, so your pup will never be left alone for long. Whether your dog needs a calm place to rest or a buddy for playtime, we’re here to make them feel safe, loved, and cared for like family. We offer a calm, clean home with a large fenced yard for playtime and plenty of supervised outdoor breaks. If your dog prefers quiet space or needs downtime, we’re happy to keep them separate and can also crate if needed based on your instructions.

“Amy was great. This was our first time leaving our very shy dog with someone, and we were confident she was in great hands and received lots of love. We would use Amy again without hesitation.”

“We could not be more pleased with Diana’s. It felt like a home away from home for pups. They sent pictures, gave us updates and you could tell that they cared for our boys as if they were family. We will certainly use them again!! They are fantastic!!”

“Olivia went above and beyond when watching Farley! She sent videos, pictures, and even saved the day after we forgot his food at home. Farley had a great stay, and we would not hesitate to have him stay again. Thanks Olivia!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Boonton
Charles was absolutely wonderful with our precious Ruby! We thought we wouldn't be able to board her as she broke her toe bone just two days before she was scheduled to board, but Charles assured us that he was experienced in injuries and administering medication. He even put up a crate (Ruby's safe space) and created a separate area for her so that she would have a quiet place to rest from the other dogs. In addition, he was able to put Ruby at ease during the meet and greet (Ruby is nervous around strangers), and was able to build a rapport with her at the first meeting, which was a huge step and relief for us. Charles kept us updated with photos to assure us that Ruby was doing well. When we picked Ruby up after two nights with Charles, we could tell that she had a good time and had been well taken care of. We can't thank Charles enough for his help!

Jonathan was great with both of our dogs. He had great communication, sent us pictures and videos of the girls. He was also accommodating when our flight was canceled and we had to book an extra 2 days with him. We would definitely re-book with him in the future!

Dhurti took wonderful care of Oreo! She had great communication throughout the entire stay and sent lots of pictures and updates, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. Oreo looked happy, comfortable, and well cared for. We really appreciated her kindness and would definitely book with her again. Highly recommend!

Charles took great care of our 6-months old Goldendoodle, Maxie, during 5 days boarding. He was very responsive and made us feel comfortable leaving our puppy for the 1st time. When we picked him up, Maxie was happy, it was clear he had been very well taken care for. In fact, Maxie seemed so comfortable that he did not want to leave. We would absolutely use Charles again. Thank you!

This is the third time that Charina and Sunny have watched our dog Max and I cannot say enough about how wonderful they are. I trust them fully to not only take great care of him, but also to diligently give him his meds and address his health. Their home is a perfect place for dogs and the pictures that Charina takes and sends to us are helpful and really nice! Thx so much!

We had such a great experience using Ruyi. She was kind, pleasant, and always stayed in contact with us. She sent me multiple pictures and updates throughout my dog’s stay and even had a video call with be before hand to show me exactly where my dogs would be. I will definitely be bringing my dogs back to stay with her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
